  • this one dspleases me

  • Phil Hartman and Dave Foley...these two had amazing chemistry on the set and off. Both are really nice guys. Phil Hartman is still missed......

  • Lol John Chrysler.

Anyway, Bill and Dave in that last scene... holy hell, brilliant comedic acting. The writing isn't that sharp , but Dave Foley and Phil Hartman made it the scene their own and created something brilliant and memorable.

Phew, those two were incredible together.

  • Bill blows the windmills of my mind...

  • I have actually had occasion to say to my boss, "I read your book, you magnificent bastard!" And I didn't turn it down, either.

  • The absolute best episode of NewsRadio ever (though Bill yelling at Matthew when he's trying to quit smoking is also a classic moment in the series).

  • @madamtorsion

I think The Cane, Smoking, and The Desk episodes are probably my favorites, although, it's pretty hard to choose from such quality material...

  • "This one displeases me." Of all Newsradio quotes, that one has stuck with me for 15 years.

  • I use "This one I like, I keep" and "This one displeases me" in everyday conversation XD

  • @broadwaymelody33

Yeah, ever since this episode aired, I think of this scene every time I've got "some sorting to do"...

  • 2:39 Dave Foley is a monkey genius.

  • Walter Percy Chrysler.

  • I like Bill's pompousness. Wish I could have a chance to behave like that.

  • "this one displeases me," toss* >D

  • hehehehehe I liked that too

  • This one I like; I keep.

  • "I read your book, you magnificent bastard." - Phil, as Bill definitely was THE reason for me enjoying NewsRadio and why I bought the first four seasons.

  • @TrueAgendaSetter

As much as I love Dave Foley, and his work with The Kids in the Hall*

(*which is why I started watching Newsradio, and will always remain close to my heart)

Phil Hartman as Bill was THE BEST character on that show! The writers gave Phil some of the best bits, and the writing really never went downhill. Phil could act his a** off! and stole almost every scene he was in! I love it! And, I still use the bastard line to this day!

  • This is pretty much the perfect ending this episode.

  • "Is he by any chance related to Jack Chevrolet?"

    hahaha classic

  • @mgm0086

    Bill Pontiac!

  • i love Daves' grin when he says "Bill--I stole your cane!" haha, i dunno why, but it reminds me of Dave back when he was still on the Kids in the Hall :D

  • @triscadecaphile

Yup! I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught Dave's "KITH"-style facial switch. It made me think of the Sizzler Sisters!

  • @triscadecaphile me too, but don't tell anyone or... chop chop haha :D

  • this one displeases me. lol
