  • Can you power shift with MSD launch master or will it knock the rpm's back down?

  • @87BRAND Yes, you can still powershift. I powershifted 2-3. The MSD will not kick in until your RPMs are below the launch point (500 or 1000 RPMs I believe).

  • @darkfiregt Alright cool, I was looking into getting this for my 08 Bullitt and was curious. Thanks for the info!

  • bro your a beast on the tree good job you must have killer reaction times

  • Nice.. what RPM you launching at? I want to get a 2 step. Had it in my last car..

  • son that velle just stomped that ass fer ya

  • you could use some 4.10's with those tires for sure, seems like its taking forever to wind out the gears

  • @DaBrute That's for sure. I just wanted to try to hit 12's with simple bolt-ons first.. but then I had to change my clutch.. so all bets are off now.

  • Nice reaction time

  • Nice launch

  • whats the red flip switch you're hittin?

  • That switch activates my line locks.

  • sweeeet, i was right.

  • where u get those line locks at? is it like any other bolt on or custom?

  • I want line lock!!

  • To answer the other guys' questions.. there's a switch connected to the clutch. You just floor the gas and it will hang the set rpm with the clutch depressed, as soon as you pop the clutch, the switch is broken and it deactivates the launch master.. off you go in a really violent way lol. Easy as that!

  • LOL, man I cannot WAIT to get one of these things! Line lock, MSD 2-step, shift light and a monkey could be consistent. Thanks for the nice vid.

  • Thanks for watching!

  • few questions. 1st what is a 2 step and is it only for supercharged/turbocharged cars and how do you benefit from it?

  • It's a rev limiter. It allows you to hold the RPMs at a certain point, until the clutch (or brake for automatics) is let go. You can use this with or without a power adder. It allows you to dial in specific RPM points so you can find your optimal launch point, and keep it there.

  • oh ok thanks

  • whats the difference between having a step 2 and just popping the clutch at whatever rpm you want to launch?

  • The 2Step is a RPM modulator. It holds the RPMs steady. The time from staging to green goes quickly and even the best drivers have a hard time dialing the RPMs to the same place every time in that short amount of time. It's just one less thing to worry about. You can focus more on your reaction time and such.

  • Plus, with my Bamachips Race tune, the throttle is very touchy. Good for racing, bad for trying to modulate the RPMs during launch.

  • ive never been familiar with 2steps even though i help work on a few dragsters under 9 seconds. dont use it. I thought they helped cut spark to build pressure in the combustion chambers? is this different?

  • I've never seen a dragster not use a 2 step. They're not necessarily using it to build pressure in the combustion chambers, but rather, using it to keep the RPMs high so they're in high boost levels when they launch.

  • i said that because my idea of 2 step was different than what it really is. i know better than to touch the computer on the car so ive never really seen how it worked. all i know about the computer that controls all that stuff is that it's used to set the RMPs at which it will shift.

  • @darkfiregt dragsters use a trans brake, not a 2 step. like the same thing, but basicaly for an automatic

  • Hey man cool ride, just one Question about the MSD 2 step ur using. How do u activate it and deactivate it? Does it stay on every time you launch your car, or do u have to turn it on to launch it with the 2 step.

  • @bigrigs it goes to a sensor in your clutch, always on if you want it to be, but only works if your clutch is engaged. so if your in neutral with the clutch out. it doesn't do it, thats how mine is anyway

  • The switch for your line lock? Neato!

  • Are you sure you 3.31 gears because the manual transmision stangs come with 3.55s

  • Yes. 2005 and 2006 manuals came with 3.55's. Starting in 2007, 3.55's were an option.

  • how fast do u run with the 3.31s??

  • 13.129 is my best time with the 3.31's.

  • nice...wat about the trap speed?

  • 13.129@105.79 on that run. 1.9 60'. I've trapped as high as 106.45.

  • @darkfiregt thats a damn good run, specialy just for bolt ons. the best run i could pull in mine was a 13.40 with a 1.89 60 foot. trappin around 103. mine is a 2000 model though. all bolt ons and a clutch. just got my launch control though. so maybe now i can bring my 60 down

  • BMR LCA relocation brackets, CHE LCA's w/poly bushings, BMR UCA with poly bushings, Eibach Pro Kit, Tokico D-Specs, BMR adj. panhard bar w/poly bushings.

  • suspension??

  • Thanks for your response. I know the 2 Step doesn't cause the bogging. I'm running DR's. If I wasn't doing a long enough burnout, they'd be spinning and I wouldn't be bogging. I'm trying to keep for slipping the clutch, which kind of defeats the purpose of the 2 Step. But until I get shorter gears, I may have to.

  • The 2 step won't cause bogging. Sounds like you need to feather the clutch a little coming out. Also, if you're running drag radials, you might want to try a longer burnout. If a 2 step wasn't forbidden in the class I run, I'd have one. They are great for consistency.
