lol I think they wear it to fufill themselves as being able to identify with a group. They are sikh and their identity is turban and this is fufilling in itself. Just like a christian wear a cross, a kabbalist wears a red string, a jew wears a stisiz, a muslim wears a scarf, a satanist wears all black, a hindu wears a dot. These are all ways to identify with a group and recognize those who are the same as you.

Snatam talks of singing praises of God, thats nice, but why does she dress like that, God is universal, not confided to a particular sect or ritual custume, can't the experience of the One as Ganesh puts it, be expressed outside of an adopted religion, what is the cover of sikhism serving here anyway, wouldn't it be the same if they were Chrisitian folk singers, are they saying to get closer to God you need to wear a turban, is God in religion?

To answer your question: no they are not saying you need to wear a turban. No offense, but you don't get it, dippydog. When you have experienced the effect of being in a ray, acknowledging a tradition without claiming it's the only one or the best, then you have something to say on the matter.

But you are asking questions, that's a good start.

You mistake us for muslims.

It is Islamic teachings which state to inflict their religion forcefully on non-muslims and to convert them even if it's against their will or if it means creating war.

Us sikhs do not force anyone into our religion. This is why our religion is so beatuiful - if people convert to sikhism i hope it is something they-themselves have chosen to follow.

To me, her image reminds me of her voice.. and her voice reminds me of how the chants feel when I sing... and that feeling reminds me of my highest vibration and gratitude and connectedness.

Possibly her voice, image, speech are signs that trigger our own rememberance. appreciate her for the part of God that she is, and what she triggers in oneself, while also focusing on the greater aspect of God and the Divine.
