It amazes me that Hugh Dennis was only 29 or 30 in this. My sister and I were recently discussing how he hasn't really aged in the past 20 years. Because he always looked middle-aged.
This was a mostly topical show. The guys are still knocking about about so theres nothing to stop them coming back back and making a new series. Except they all hate each other.
Absolutely brilliant, these guys were like, the Primal Scream of comedy.. so cool and inspiring it actually made your soul ache with the exhaustion of loving them so much... comedy (and music) is just not in the same league now.. I wonder how it would be if they got back together for a series, unlikely I know, but we can dream :-)
@Jez32uk I thought the reason it hasn't been released on DVD is because David Baddiel and Rob Newman's poor relationship. Problem with copyright and royalties I think. I might be wrong but seeing as Newman is a bit of a hardcore anti-capitalist these days I suppose it is possible.
Ah, this takes me back!! When I was 15 it seemed like everybody at my school watched this brilliant show. We were always quoting the catchphrases at each other in the playground.
Yeah, I remember this. I was about sixteen when this was on the telly, and it was must see viewing; pity the poor losers whose parents wouldn't let them watch it. The weird thing is, even then I thought a lot of it was pretty juvenile, and poorly written. I remember sneering at one episode in particular when 70% of the show seemed to be Newman and Baddiel introducing a new subject, and then saying "That's bollocks!" Not exactly "Fawlty Towers" is it......?
This is great I loved The MWHE, thanks for putting this on. Loved the John Major bit - "Bollocks! your house has been reposessed!" What a sign of the times then...!
There's never a better tikme to visit Iraq now then. Lol.

@benrsmith31077 I wouldn't have thought he had a say in it. Anti-capitalist? I thought he was just an eco-warrior.

Punt & Dennis were bloody awful. Their input was obvious, based on untruths and consisted on flogging an idea to death.
