Actualy your wrong. In sonic chronicles, there is a scene where sonic must chase shadow. Shadow was having problems losing sonic and he even said something like "you may be FASTER than me, but I am stronger than you", followed by a boss fight, so there, Shadow even admits he is slower than sonic.

I respectfully disagree. Elise is important, yes but life happens to her, not because of her. She does nothing. Sonic, Silver, Shadow and Memphilis, with the help of thier friends and Eggman,are the ones who pull the entire story on. She can be likened to an emerald that Sonic and the gang have to find and protect. She may as well be an object. Evenso, I see your point. The story does seem to revolve around her, even though she herself does nothing important.
