Im gonna change my H pipe for and X pipe will let you know the change. I dont like the rattle sound. Thanks for the reply, i so thought something was loose but found nothing
Hey friend i have the same setup and it makes a rattling sound like something is loose but i have looked at the whole system and cant find anything loose. does yours make that rattling sound also
@HELI1961 Yeah, mine makes that noise, almost like there are aluminum cans rattling in the exhaust. It only seems to happen on downshifts when compression braking. Considering how loud the exhaust really is (I drove mine into town with open manifolds to get an exhaust stud removed) ( : D) the sound is probably just the back-pressure noise echoing off the walls of the pipes.
99 was crap tho it had many problems. First the base horsepower ford said was 320 was really around 290 so they had to stop production. In 2001 they fixed all the problems such as putting an aluminum block a new computer new exaust manifold and intake manifold and adding some worthy items to the cobra such as the cobra logo bumper the cobra suede seats and the cobra grille.
the '99 Cobra definatly wasnt crap... if you do your research the Teksid '96-'99 aluminum block is THE strongest 4.6L Cobra block, 1300 HP+ capable. all 1999's were also recalled to make 320+ hp and torque.
ok it would deff be the prochamber.. Its by MAC and its a cross between and x and a h. it makes the best torque, hp and by far the best and most unique sound
Gotta disagree a little bit. The H-pipe will create more torque and have that louder exhaust note coming out because of the resistance of the air running through the H. The X-pipe will give out more horsepower because its more free flowing allowing the engine to run more smoothly. Use the X-pipe for more power in the higher gears and top speed; use the H-pipe for more torque down low. I used to own a 99 cobra and experimented with both till my humble ass wrecked it, nice car man.

@HELI1961 I have a BBK Off road X pipe. Not an H pipe. So unless you meant switching to an H pipe from an x pipe, it may not do any good.

which midpipe is the Best one for a 2000 Mustang GT? Xpipe or Hpipe. Which is best for ALL OUT BEST performance?

Most people will tell you x-pipe. I'm running an H and I love it. It's mean sounding and performance wise they're basically the same...

H = low end torque
X = high end horsepower.
H-Pipes have a deeper sound, whereas X-Pipes have a raspy metallic sound.
