Julie~ It's Marylou~ ... Lol yeah watching myself perform is funny but it shows me what I gotta improve. Lol thanks for the post Tammi, but I still don't like seeing myself on YouTube (T____T)...
But yeah Taiko is an enjoyable thing and its suppose to make people excited and happy. Hey Julie, the drums are used in many asian countries, like China, huh? ^^
doesnt the movie take place in china, and you said taiko was for japan, so this is americans just being mean and ignorant about asian cultures. they cant even distinguish between chinese and japanese culture, tsk tsk tsk and then i hear in the movie the kid doesnt even really learn karate but kung fu. Just those darn americans again and there ignorant ways!
@airventilation Taiko is Taigu in Chinese. The Taiko drums came from China to Japan via Korea as early as 500 BC. 2000 years ago, Japanese, Korean and Chinese cultures and societies were pretty much identical. These drums belong to all three nationalities, but they are recognized as invented by the Chinese to begin with. To this day, drumming styles that bear much semblance to this are seen throughout China.

Actually, the drums used in taiko are of Chinese origin. They were brought to Japan, and the style developed into its own from there, I believe.
Thanks for posting this!!!
I think it's really embarrassing to see myself play, but it really does help me improve~
It was hot, but we somehow made it through :3
