@tombee2 Lions and tigers living together is fine if they are introduced at a young age and get along with each other and they are fixed to prevent breeding :)

Anything different texturally or scent wise is interesting to them and they get to destroy the pumpkins as well! I'm sure your cats would like it, then again it depends on the actual cats.... They just rip them apart, Banjo is a binturong or bearcat, neither a bear or a cat!

Is Nikita a lioness? She is a pretty color but a tad odd compared to other lionesses. It could just be the video though XD

Yep, Nikita is a lioness, she still has some of her markings quite visible, that lions have when they are cubs, which is unusual?

Thats cool she's just a beautiful tawny color instead of the normal golden which was why I was asking XD She is very pretty. =]

You're right, she's a pretty girl. She was seized in a drug raid in Tennessee and was believed to be chained to the wall and lying on concrete all the time. She was underweight by 60-70lbs when we rescued her, she looks good now though! :)

Was wondering how you decide what cats are suitable to live in same enclosures as other cats? Is it a try and see sort of thing, or if they previosly lived together? I would have thought it would be hard to change the natural insticts of a Male Lion to accept another cat without making sure it knows who is boss, which i guess would mean the other cat would have a high level of stress. Either way, i love what you guys do, and give me a job there damm it! Ill happily take a pay cut... ;)

Good question! We don't introduce any of our cats really, if they are rescued together we keep them together. But like you said all cats are solitary by nature except for the lion, so introducing a mature tiger with another mature tiger would result in a fight.

Cameron is such an aggressive cat. He probably would snatch everything from Zabu. Zabu is so great. She's cute and very tame.

Cameron can be aggressive at times, male lions are like this a lot then again all cats can be aggressive when they want to be, including Zabu, wouldn't all her tame though! :)

I haven't found a single video about zabu being aggressive, but there are quite a few videos shown Cameron stealing foods from tigers . He's such a bully. Now i understand why male lions are more intimidated.

Why don't you guys seperate Zabu from Cameron?

All big cats can be very aggressive if they want to be including Zabu. I think you might be thinking of Joseph our other male lion in the turkey video? He lives with a lioness and two tigers.

As continuing education in my profession; I'm a Paramedic; we watch detailed videos of emergency procedures.

Yesterday we watched a leopard's attack on a zookeeper who didn't know the cat was still in its enclosure while she replenished its food.

She survived the ordeal, but it was rather gruesome.

I'll have no trouble remembering that, although the cats are beautiful and appear extremely happy, they retain their wild nature.

I still love watching them. I adore cats.

His name is Cameron and he is regular lion. There are only around two Barbary lions left in captivity but a lot of places will claim to have them, when they only have a lion with a dark mane.

It's amazing! I guess only boring people get bored. Something as simple as a pumpkin can provoke endless curiosity from the cats.

They actually came to us that way. They are life long friends. Both have been taken care of so they can't breed.

Guess love can be universal. Crosses boundaries of color, gender, and (sometimes) species. :) These two have clearly been companions for years.

It'd never happen in the wild, but neither would Zabu herself. So I guess it evens out.

Good question. The lion as we know it is not a Barbary. He actually isn't that large compared to other male lions.

A lot of lions depending where they live will have little or no mane to a bigger one like Cameron has.
