Some nice shots, but they come too quickly (in the beginning, especially) for me. Prefer the candids to the posed...and where are pics from musical or lecture guests? Some of my favorite Woo memories were from the great cultural events on campus--Alex Haley, Elie Wiesel, etc...
@callandorwot ...Crap. Ok Scots, let's pack it in. Someone did something first before we did. Cease and desist all actions that repeat any other actions done before, ever.
Also, I am sure that Oberlin did this first before anyone in history - because THEY wouldn't copy anyone....
Just look at their athletic programs. They haven't tried to win in years.
Great photo quality and energy! Needs some variety in pacing to add more drama and sense of purpose, but a great upbeat montage. From this place should come some even more compelling artistry.
I don't think that this video was intended to be a promotional video. I think that it was made so that the students could view some images of themselves throughout the year. The college probably sent it to us so that we could enjoy those photos as well. Take it easy, I am sure that the college is in the process of creating some promotional videos that will look and feel much more professional.
I enjoyed seeing the pics, but waaaay too fast, and while I am a lax fan, it seemed to be very heavily represented more than other sports. The suggestions to pick a slightly slower song, cut some of the sports pics will give you something even parents (who are footing the tuition bill and need to be hooked too) would enjoy. BTW, I love the BEP's but I think you are going to get copywronged here -- why not some of the cool, hip bagpipers doing something pop-style??
I really like this video, but I think more pictures of the quad and the oak grove would be nice. It also almost appears that we only have one building--Kauke. There are so many other nice buildings to showcase (inside and out). There were a few nice shots of dorms but a few more would have been fun.
if "tonight's gonna be a good night" entails studying all night with no sleep, then i guess the song lyrics hit the nail on the head about wooster. oh except for those parties during the last few weeks of my senior year that seemed to happen every night - those were good, good nights.
Stop hatin' on the guy, this is awesome and I would kill for him to do one yearly. Besides, I don't see any of you jumping at the opportunity to make one yourself.
For some reason there were no shots of Stevenson or Bissman... ;-)
But I got a touch of nostalgia despite the fact that I think the target audience appears to be around 15 years younger than I am. I'm guessing the video was not directed at crotchety old alumni like ourselves.
If nothing else... it did remind me that our school did indeed have a football team.
Interesting video. It's upbeat with visuals that give a strong impression of the variety contained in Wooster's life. I got my B.Mus.Ed. from COW('71) & would have like to have seen more images of COW's musical life; yet, on the whole, I hope young people who are into texting & multi-tasking & video games & Facebook & YouTube & other things that would make my head swim will find this appealing enough to inquire further into the rich and rewarding experience of study at the College of Wooster.
Oh, and one other thing--I also agree that there are too many photos of sports and athletics at COW. Try to get a more representative collection from different activities and majors.
I am sorry to say that this video is not very well produced at all. The pictures, timed to the beats of a trite song, make it hard to watch. It is a very amateur video, and does not represent the great place COW is. The idea of a contest is a great idea. PLEASE do not release this as something from the alumni office.
So good to see pics of kind faces and diversity as when I attended(90-94). But the images are WAY to fast and the song, though I happen to like it, does overwhelm and distract from the topic.
Can we say epileptic seizures? The music doesn't fit and as stated previously, the pictures are speeding by way too fast. There should be a focus on the various departmental majors that Wooster offers. The perfect soundtrack would be Adiemas or Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin--with consideration to copyright infringements etc.
Nice but shots are too sports heavy. That doesn't really represent the full breadth and variety of Wooster life. Sports are part but not 50% (what it felt like). If using for recruiting this may be misleading. I don't think Wooster is a big "jock" school, and so you may not want to portray it that way.
thank you for the share.. :)

Great video! Lots of fun! Though I seem to remember we studied a lot more and played a lot less football! But, yea for Peter Havholm! :-)

Great stuff. Made me miss the Woo spring and fall...although winter was conspicuously absent.

What do you mean, not directed at alumni? I saw *two* pictures of Havholm. lol.
By the way, that missing brick is totally a tripping hazard ;)

I think it is well worth the time it takes to watch this video. Covers many of the areas represented @ the COW.

The sound track is an annoying distraction. The pictures are great, but they go by too fast.

I agree with the previous reviewer. The flashing pics are too quick, and I too got a headache. Had to stop the video halfway through . . .
simonthebichon 2 years ago 2
it kind of gives me a headache with all the quick flashing pics...but good to see some recent Woo life.
binderland 2 years ago 2
It's a nice video, but did Wooster pay the rights to use "I Gotta Feeling" as the soundtrack? This seems promotional and not covered by fair use.

Did you write the song?

I did not write the song, but an educational institution should not knowingly violate copyright law. Wouldn't you agree?
