The use of the word "otaku" there is just so generalised and offensive. It's like me going up to every black person and calling them a "niggar" . well kinda..

I would call it "avid fans" not "otaku"...just because it's a anime song singer doesn't automatically mean that all those following and cheering her are "otaku".

I live in Japan and the meaning of "otaku" has been warped when put through to the Western world. It's annoying seeing people use it wrong.

"otaku" should be used for those who are "otaku"...I'm just saying don't automoatically associate everything to do with anime straight to "otaku".
