Serving in the Military there is no honor in war, anyway. There is nothing retrieved by war that betters my life and there never has been. What life do we have now that is so much better because of 9/11? Beyond the emotional patriotic sentiment that costs people who speak it- very little: there war pays for death only.

Veterans Benefits being cut, always being cut.

Safety is when we have men and women who don't have to act in the dark and do their deeds there. Safety to me- is not having guys feeling like they can; take pop shots at defenseless citizens.

The Military is not evil nor weapons. But the guide lines for which people act under when using those; can be when permitting lawless- ness.

No one secures my freedom but me and those who stand under the Constitution and my right to serve those freedoms that secure freedom.

I think there would be no need for Blackwater or the draft if we stopped meddling in other countries affairs and stopped going to war at least once every decade. If we only used our military to defend our country instead of the profits of the oil companies and defense contractors, the volunteer army would be enough.

I only wish to point out that too few Americans (about 500,000) are the only ones affected by the mayhem in Iraq and if the "war on terror" were to affect Americans across the board, the war would have ended in 2002.

The United States is at war because it was attacked by terrorists and stabilizing that region prevents them from doing it again! You're safer because of it, but the US is full of lazy liberals who don't want to risk their own lives. The US Military can't get recruits during war and isn't permitted to draft so it has no choice, guv! You can surrender to the terrorists and become a new Muslim State or privatize to protect your freedom. The latter is better for world stability!

1. I never said Republicans were exempt from being Liberals (what does that even mean?). I simply said most of them are against the draft. I'm not sure what you're talking about there.

2. The 2nd Amendment says: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Where did you get that it's a duty to fight wars? It's a right not a duty.

3. In which war did Obama refuse to fight? When was he drafted?

You may "feel" safe, but your personal rights given by the Bill of Rights were infringed upon by the Patriot Act. It wasn't just Americans who were attacked on 9/11, there were other delegates from other nations working in the world trade center. You might want to check your third sentence, because the U.S. military is still recruiting today! Besides "terrorists" aren't organized enough to take on America, no country has the technology or potential to take on the U.S.

As for your Patriot Act, it's superceeded by the Bill of Rights. It only says that terrorists do not deserve to be protected by the rights that a citizen of the US is given.

It's no different than a restriction on felons purchasing weapons in the US.

If you're not a terrorist, it doesn't affect you or your life.
