Only one Nation has won the world cup 5 times, looking at their players it is easy to understand why and they will probably win five more before England wins their second title.
It's interesting how that scumbag commentator didn't believe that Ronaldinho had the skill to score from that freekick from that position! He probably doesn't even know what skill is!
that was our best chance to win the supreme title : Scholes, Owen back at his prime, Becks, rising S.Gerrard, D.Seaman etc etc now the team is just CRAP
Remember watching this in school, aged 15. As we're in the UK this match was on at like 8am. I was the one of few that cheered the free kick. (Northern Ireland). Also the morning of our Sports Day!
@mastertiment Sorry, are we watching the same game here. He should have made the tackle llke a man not dodge it like the little bitch he is. You even heard the crowd gasp in surprise when he did it. Scholes wouldn't have dodged it. Roy Keane wouldn't have dodged it. These are men.
I remember when Owen's goal hit the back of the net everyone screamed with joy. No one thought it could but it did, I remember hugging the person next to me and I didn't know who they were. It was indeed a golden age for Brazilian football but I believe that this was one of the best England teams too. I was so proud that day because I knew I was watching one of the greatest games ever ... Even if we did lose I was proud to be a football supporter that day. Great game. And then it ended I cried.
@ruidude11 You do realise that this World Cup was in South Korea/Japan, not every english person is going to go there and buy a World Cup ticket costing hundreds of pounds. In fact most of the stadium are filled with home country fans, if you look at the Brazilian fans in this match, they are also South Korean/Japanese.
@JeffTheDudeLebowski1 ahahaha yes i do know brighton, i also know there is a gay village in manchester....when i say "gay" i wasn't being homophobic, i was referring to the unnecassary emotion and voice foreign commentators' use when a goal is scored.
I liked the Brazilian style of football until the early 2000's . But then they tried to play a rather denfense styl and failed. it will take a few years until we'll see a Brazilian team with the spirit of 2002 e.g. Maybe their time will come 2014
Bitter English commentator about Ronaldinho's goal: "Nobody's gonna convince he intended to do that"... Let's see: it's a free kick, and Ronaldinho kicks the ball towards the goal. I wonder what his intention was. :)
Some people really have trouble accepting that some players are vastly superior than others.
@jorgeccaa yeah..the commentator would have been ecstatic if that was scored by beckham..suddenly he would yell.."nobody does it better than beckham when it comes to dead balls.."
agreed. the early 2000's was a golden era for brazillian football, they aren't at that level right now. but knowing them, within the next few years they'll produce a new batch of superstars. we probably haven't even heard of them yet!
