how do you strum the a string without touch the e string :p ?

just a lot of practice...use your thumb to mute the e string while u play the a string though and that will help

yea you just gotta keep practicing and focus on only hitting the a string....in my opinion, always practice standing up and playing. i think it fucks people over when they learn to play bass sitting down and then they have to re learn a new technique when standing up and playing
