i bought the microphone and i was trying to sing, but i hear my voice on headset , but the background outside is quiet. -.-

so sounds like im singing but no music on , so people can only hear my voice but no sound background -.-

how do u record this?? -.- i bought the filter and microphone. do i jst plug it in into my laptop?? or i nid a software or something?? pls help.
