look on the bright side. they could've called him something stupid and redundant like Robotman or Laserman or Blueman. Personally I've always thought the 'mega' in Megaman is a great sign of the strength, and power that Megaman always possesses.
After all the adventures he's gone on, a term like mega, is well deserved, and appropriate.
He may not have Guts, and he can't make fire, ice, electricity, bombs, magnets, tops, spikes, etc, and he might not be made of wood, or metal, and he isn't even a robot demi-god. But none of them can claim the title of mega like the blue bomber can.
I think the title has to do with Rock Paper Scissors. The rock and roll thing is just a clever play on words that they did as well. Cutman's existence supports my theory.
