  • This has definitely been remixed and remastered, probably by trumpet player Lee Loughnane. Some of the balances are different than on the LP that I still own. Sadly the original master tape went up in smoke when the Caribou Ranch studio burned down. As to Peter and Danny coming back, it's not going to happen. Too much bad blood. Danny is the greatest rock drummer of them all. THOUSANDS of Baby Boomers took up the drums because of his outstanding playing.

  • Ceteras bass is off the hook!Great work

  • I have this on vinyl,but I haven't had a turntable in years...*sigh*

  • Great song! This was actually from the CTA sessions, then later included on Chicago II.

  • Poem 58 from CTA kicks some ass! What a great tune that only true Chicago fans would know about!

  • I like this album, and many say it was their seminal album, but I still see the CTA as superior. Great stuff, but a little wind went out of the sails with this one.

  • 2 people don't like waking up to the sunshine....

  • Cool song....only 41 years old....

  • Its brilliant on the album how this and the other 7 songs on the side fit in together

  • Great song, so uplifting!

  • the best chicago song !!!!

  • I was a big Chicago fan in 1970, and this was the first album I owned, featuring Make Me Smile. This song was never a hit single, but it's such a happy song. I always loved it! Thanks for posting it, and bringing back the good old days!

  • love it !!!!!!

  • Fab stuff! Some years back I smoked weed to this album. Amazing experience!

  • Chicago II is their best album, before they started getting all 'pop'-y

  • the coollest song ever!!! i am happy i found it here on you tube! I still have that old album and i played this album grey (we say in dutch....haha too many times)....

    cheers babe! simmo

  • I used to wake my ex wife up to this almost every morning.. it drove her nuts..LOL

  • I want Peter Cetera and drummer Danny Seraphine to return to Chicago while they're both still alive and use MARC BONILLA ON LEAD GUITAR. He is the ONLY guitarist able to do Terry Kath any respect!!

  • Amazing. The Beatles, nothing more than raw talent. But after Sgt Pepper, they were no band at all. Just studio amazing geniuses.

Led Zep? Another story. The cumulated talents of Bonzo, Page and Plant (sorry for JPJ). But not a band.

Chicago? The best band ever, because they were a band, at least.

  • I used play guitar on this song in a gospel group

  • Thanks for adding this song! My favorite from Chicago! Their best era!

  • I think that was a BIG mistake to fire Danny from the band,he was great and Peter Cetera went on a solo career but he never could overcome what he did with CHICAGO

  • Reminds me of getting up for Jr High..)1970's)....and my brother Richie..Thanks for this ..as it is one of my favorite songs ever !!

  • Robert Lamm once again showing his incredible versitility, being able-gifted actually-to be able to write so many different kinds of Music(!) ...and that wonderful voice of his...

    WOW!!

Thanks so much for the post.

    Brings back fantastic memories!

  • Nice to hear this again............

  • thanks so much for posting this!

  • great!

have been looking for this a long time and was too lazy to post it myself...

    tnx alot!

  • Whoever posted this, THANKS!! This wuz Chicago when it Wuz Chicago!! Thank You!! God Rest Terry Kath and hoping that Peter Cetera will come to his senses and return to the Band gave him his BIG BREAK!!!!

  • I want Peter Cetera and drummer Danny Seraphine to return to Chicago while they're both still alive. Someone can easily take Danny's place in California Transit Authority.

  • @arhuxtable Forget it without Kath!!!

  • I would have mentioned Terry Kath if he were living today. Before bassist Peter Cetera exited Chcago,Donnie Dacus succeeded Kath. Dacus exited in 1981. Since then,Bill Champlin served as keyboardist while Robert Lamm became occasional guitarist. Lamm alternated between guitar and keyboards. Sometimes when Lamm played keyboards,Chris Pinnick would serve as guitarist. Pinnick joined Chicago around 1979 or '80. So it's hard to tell who could permanently be Kath. I'd say Pinnick.

  • @arhuxtable I Know all that iv'e been following Chicago since they started I saw the orgional line up in 1970 in San Francisco! I"m just saying NO ONE can replace Terry. In My opinion he was one of the greatest guitarist ever!. Top 15 maybe 10. After his death they were never the same they lost the balls of the band.He was a strong force.

  • @au81rxfiller And he's done SO well for the last decade or so.

  • Thanks for posting this! Love this song.

  • Check out the 3-part Chicago documentary from 1969-70 narrated by keyboardist Robert Lamm, sax and woodwind player Walter Parazaider and producer/manager James William Guercio. You'll actually see a clip of Chicago II LP's being pressed at a plant(with the original 360 Sound label).

  • @arhuxtable ----will I actually see the clip? Did you know that there's actually a disease in this country of people who say actually--that's actually true--actually..

  • The documentary is here on You Tube. Type in the keywords "Chicago band documentary".

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • weird ending with the guitar... cool
