  • Parkour: Subtext for ninja training, be prepared 2012.

  • We do it because we want to look like ninjas -3

  • I love parkour/free running...when it's sunset I like climbing a building nd just stare at it..when I jump a gap of do a flips I feel like I'm flying..parkour is an amazing art

  • i wish i could do this

  • the best... the best... the best...

    oooh yeah

  • Bravi che bello mi sono allenato con voi ciaooooo

  • My mom and dad hate me doing parkour. They think I actually have a future in soccer. I don't even like soccer that much it's just a bunch of extra stress piled up on top of school and my social life but when I do parkour all that's gone. There's nothing left but exhilarating freedom.

  • IDK but to me, this kinda makes me think that Parkour is becoming more about money to some people other than just the love of movement and being free, as what it used to be....

I don't do it, but my boyfriend and his friends do. And it's amazing to watch them go around town and cities just doing this. And to see them draw a crowd of future kids who wanna do this is amazing. They never "leaned" how to do this at a "proper facility" but they really believe this is what they are born to do....

  • I thought David Belle found PK?

  • @ArT1Tuvsho He's one of the founders.

  • @ArT1Tuvsho he did he was in the group they talk about at the beginning.

  • THIS gives me motivation, to love this sports and Train hard to become one of the elite of Parkour. One Love.

  • what advice would you have for someone that would Like to begin to experience the greatness and Joy of parkour when there is no real course or teaching near where they live. Personal teaching I am doing with myself but its out of a book and video... not face to face with a coach which there are none where I live? any advice/ Tips would be great and as well I am trying to heal my shoulder is there a way to do this as quick as possible?

  • @shadow0927 Like Chau said, the spirit was born by their natural instinct in the woods. If you go back far enough, Methode Naturalle and Parkour originate to natives of Africa. Because of jungle and diseases that were incurable by the europeans, their original human movements and motivation for those movements were left untampered with until late in history. They were the last link we had to the movements we were born with. All humans know Parkour naturally, so any human can rediscover th way

  • just watch in 20 years parkour will be the only way to move about

  • somehow I find it so sexy when I see guys doing parkour....I LOVE IT!......I'd actually like to learn some parkour myself...can anyone teach a gal how to do it? :)

  • l'art du deplacement by yamakasi

  • I live in Australia in N.S.W, is there a program here similar to A.D.A.P.T where we can become qualified to teach. i am interested because i am a gymnastics coach and this would increase my knowledge of the sport i love and also help me with teaching gymnastics in some areas.

Also what are the requirements to do this program

e.g. age, level of experience in parkour, fitness, or anything else i've missed

    much appreciated

    P.S nice vid

  • @Squeemin

  • @Mihai4040 David Belle was one of the nine friends (Yamakasi) Him and Sebastian Foucon are the most recognized traceurs from the original Yamakasi. But David fell out with them over something, i forgot what it was.. I think anyways.

  • Please Please get back with me I am very inspired by parkour and want to truelly experience Parkour in its rawest form. God Bless. P.S. I want to become Traceur. en L'art du Deplacment.

  • amazing!!! a new sport has evolved!!!!

  • Keep in mind that parkour is not only consistent of several basic movements and variations - it is also about the objectives/idea of increasing our ability to surpass obstacles, and certainly proper physical conditioning and training & safety theory are paramount before sharing parkour.

Be sure that when you are practicing with someone new, to let them know you are not a "teacher", just a peer also seeking smarter, sustainable, and progressive ways to train. Take care everyone!

  • Muito bom o video, gostei do modo que eles fazem o treinamento do parkour.

  • Do note this : The Adapt programme is meant to teach the basics and values of the discipline. Just like Subjects in school, we are taught the basics, but how we apply them is up to us. I was taught the basics when i started and now i share them too.Although personally, i would rather the traditional method of passing the art around.

  • Gaaah! Parkour is not something you can teach. It is something you have to learn. You can be a mentor, or a guide only; not a teacher.

  • come to hannover i need a teacherXD

  • Hmm. I'm sorta not liking this ADAPT thing. One of the things I've learned about Parkour is that it is a journey to find one's self. The way I was taught was not straight forward, it was me learning how to do things on my own. With this "teacher certification" program, I feel as though they're losing that personal touch. I mean, it's fine to give hints, but I was taught by people who had only been doing Parkour for a little bit less than a year. That's the wonderful thing about Parkour.

  • @Melotha Learn the way and then forget it. Find your own.

  • @TimotejVataha Agreed, wholeheartedly.

  • My instructor tyson is in that vid hes epic

  • i never thought that they are the founder of parkour...

    Yamakasi is SUPERB!!!

  • @amni12 they aren't,David Belle is.

  • @RaerkG yeah...i knew about it after I searched more about them..to me David Belle's parkour are better than them & more aggressive...especially in the movie "Borough 13"..

    btw, thanks 4 d info..

  • next level??

    that's hard..

  • hey do u have to be realy fit , like have good upper body strenght to be able to do parkour? Im not realy into the long drops and stuff i wanna learn the control and all the other techniques of free running.

  • @headshotwhore Anyone can start, you just get better:D

  • @headshotwhore u have to have all upper body strength and stamina to do park-our. Normal guys who doesn't exercise will only hurt himself if he does parkour. Gat to be fit.

  • at least the keep the spirit alive. in this case I wouldnt agree the art of motion and freerunning championships does.

  • You can't just go from being a couch potato and gamer to Parkour and Free Running and not expect to get hurt - perhaps badly hurt. Without a bare minimum of physical conditioning...you can't begin to do the least of some of that stuff. In addition to their conditioning, the guys in the vid have practiced single moves dozens and even hundreds of times a day in low risk environments - and with friends as support and backup. ...and there are times when even the best of them get hurt.

  • @wrb1957 Your absolutely right. I bet there are alotta ppl that r gonna c this n go fuck themselves up.(I'm referring to potatoes and gamers of course) Traceurs should rlly be getting the attention of ppl at the gym, you need to already be in great shape to do any of this. I mean seriously; out-of-shape ppl, can u even run for 5 mins? but they're expecting to go out n b able to flip across rooftops.

  • @kinjk i know that getting out at least 5 mins a day is better than not goin out at all, but it would still be better to sped more time on it cause that still isnt much exercise. i for one usually go out running for about 3 hours every day. im not saying that people should be out THAT long. just maybe..... 30 to an hour?

  • Omg at 2:55

  • What the course is trying to do is to make sure is that there is a standard of skill, not just stuff. What's the first search result for parkour? A video of people jumping off really high things and doing flips while at it. Where is the Quadrupedal Movement, where are the Cat Traverses? People just starting and only having big drops and rolls to go by will not pick up on the principles of conditioning and technique.

  • I disagree with the opinion that you should have to attend a course in order to learn parkour. It makes sense if you are going to become an instructor, but parkour is something that I believe you should learn on your own pace on your own terms. Learning parkour is a very personal experience and can learned by anyone. Most people grow up with parkour, but to them it has no name, it is just what they were born to do. If you want to learn parkour then the decision is ultimately up to you.

  • @Laneholdenproduction Agreed, im all self taught.

  • @Laneholdenproduction

The certificate is not created in order to HINDER people to teach. If you want to teach at schools for example you can get problems with authorities because they dont always pick people from the streets and allow them to teach parkour. If you have the adapt certificate you have been endorsed by the founders. It's the best qualification you can get. It also hinders gymnastic coaches to create their own certificate which is good since they dont have a clue about parkour.

  • you can learn through visuals other than going to a seminar only thing is doing things is great, but the mental and physical conditioning they provide as well as certain techniques not explained all the time can decrease the chance of injury and increase endurance and strength faster depending on how much time you spend conditioning and practicing

  • wtf? when this become an institution? thats lame, takes away from the freedom of parkour

  • got any training programs in texas near baytown

  • i dont think you need to listen to what they say you can learn trough movies on the internet to but then do it urselfs just dont risk to much and be free in what you do or not why do you need a teacher the best way is to teach your own just as they probably did themselfs keep it up!

  • the vids mint

  • what music's name?

  • Me and a couple of friends have recently started parkour, so i love whatching videos to get tips and a idea of some of the movements. Please check out my channel for a parkour video, and please read the description.

  • im from birmingham and thanks alot for the advice

  • i would like to be able to learn this because i teach parkour in my area and me and my team now are at a good level of training skills i have teached all my team mates and i get posative advice from many others. where can i start these lesson's you have in the u.k

    please reply

    thanks mj westmidsparkour

  • there are regular classes on down in london, check out their website on details of classes,

Where abouts in the westmids you at dude?

  • this is lame in my opinion. I thought parkour was supposed to be about individualism, not conforming to what some people think is the right way of training

  • WHOAAAAH!!!

yes ur right at some point,

but they have to make sure that the basic movements are taught the right way so beginners dont do them wrong and get hurt. Once you master the basic movements, THEN you can start combining them and be creative.

  • that'd be awesome to have some classes in USA, or are there some i dont know about?

  • they have Parkour classes at some gyms, but nothing ADAPT affiliated...thats why after i get my kinesiology degree im going to europe to take it

  • yamakasi!

  • i love parkour ive learned every thing i know from the pro's, the flow and the energy from which is placed in the right pace and movment only so many people feel the need and rush to do parkour. my parents have told me that its stupid and dumb and that i might hurt myself but know they dont care. parkour is the thing i crave most, when being active. i got my friends into it and know i train them through the same things i see and have perfected from this channel, im Dylon Burton 14 years old

  • y cant they teach parkour all around the world n not in juz certain places

  • You don't use parkour if you run away from cops. You abuse it.

  • Unless the cops are abusing their power. :)

  • ouch, nice answer!

  • Is there some fee or somthing for the class? Cause after i get my B.S. i want to go over seas and take this coruse

  • mpk junior

  • yeah this is why malta sucks!!!thers no one teaching parkour in it i have to learn evrey thing by myself, its rlly hard but at least im not bad at it!

  • here in ecuador is the same...dont worry youre not alone haha

  • but malta in summer is a great place!! lots of nice girls =D

  • so you HAVE to be of a certain level to teach some one parkour?

  • @picklrs666 You have to be of a certain level to be recognized as a legitimate teacher....I think.

  • @picklrs666

Well you don't want to teach them incorrectly!

  • @scrapkillax2 you wouldnt be teaching them incorectly youd just be teaching them what you know,

  • @picklrs666 a veteran stuntman might come in handy for advice

then again it depends on someones fatigue, strength, judgement, imagination, motion and giving the run some elegance & make people impressed what the human body can do.

  • bunch of cool people they are.

  • even if you watch videos your actually learning from someone...the person who makes the moves in the videos

  • Lmfao ye i bet you do, and i use my super powers to fight the swat teams that i come in contact with. :)

  • Oh yea, haha wow..I m suprise that my comment rate as -5 stars come on guys....get real. cops wil stop u whenever u doing it...somehow u are making the public in danger, while they jumpin over and over top of Granny LOL

  • yea you would have to find a confined secluded area in america, or someone is going to call the cops because they will think you are crazy.

  • k, that's a problem we don't have in my country...there you're maybe asked by a cop wtf you're doing here, but most of the time it doesn't get further^^...

  • they should really have this over here in america that way they can stop being such fucking fat asses and so i can do it with motivation

  • I think people should really learn themselves... With instructors to help them learn, and prevent injury.

  • I Agree With "JacktheDaniels".

This Test/Program Is Mad Easy And I Learned Off Youtube. BeforeThat I Was Just Running Around Jumping/Flipping Over Stuff Off Of Stuff And Around Stuff.

    Just Go Out And Learn.

Not Everybody Can Go Across The world To Take This Program

  • This is bullshit.

Learn parkour yourself like everyone else did!

Just watch the bloody videos and then go outside and start doing stuff!

...there's a good reason Belle & Foucan aren't with these clowns anymore...

  • Why do you think this is "bullshit".

Is it wronge to teach the younger generation of traceurs to learn from people who know what they talk about, rather than mimick what they see on the likes of youtube?

  • IDK dude that was my bro using my account.

    He's a real big do-it-yourselfer.

Doesn't like people showing him what to do; loves to figure everything out himself. Good in some ways and bad in other ways.

That probably explains his post more than anything.

  • also david belle had a teacher...his father...and all the others around the world who don't have a traceur as a father have to learn the proper techniques from somebody else...sure you can watch videos over and over, but you maybe miss some critical points and then you get hurt...but that's your own decicion =)...I don't think that these public trainings are a bad thing...you don't have to train in these "official" groups, but if it helps people to get the discipline to train...why not^^

  • Seems similar to how skateboarding used to be, I used to skate by myself all the time and watch videos because I had no one around to skate with. Just as good, but I learned very slowly.

  • 2:32 what a joke

how do they think parkour became so popular? from safely learning in a controlled enviorment?

  • hello! it's very good!

  • I'm with you on that one... Lets get it in the states.

  • These are videos that I like! haha Cool beans. You don't see stuff like that often.. haha sarcasm! Make more please! (=

  • No, Mirrors edge are not based on parkour. It has some movements from parkour in it, but besides from that it has nothing to do with parkour.

  • Dude, the whole concept of mirrors edge is based on parkour.

  • dude the whole idea of mirrors edge was started by a group of traceurs... how can you say that it has nothing to do with parkour. all of the moves are parkour... wake up...

  • yes, in mirror's edge you do "parkour" but you only do some movements jump and run, nothing more, parkour is more than this.

anyway it's just a videogame, "nothing to do with parkour" :P

  • well, could have seen that only better on VW's website, should have been driving it!!!!!!!

  • Art of movement! It's like break-dancing over obstacles, lol!!

  • Spirituality of nature in its true form proud to be a part of this.

  • i wont to jon that

  • Yeah I wish i could be taught by the original. That is like a dream. Parkour is amazing physically and mentally. GO A.D.A.P.T.

  • How does one go about receiving a certificate to train others officially in the United states?

    Jonathan Camelo

  • hardcore.

  • hahaha

  • WTF Dude

  • dude, ur gay if u have nothing better to do than diss slipknot, they're awesome and their music is pretty good as well so shut up

  • even if this had no tournament or anytihng it would be sweet to run up walls and flip in to trees :D

  • Whats the point? is there a tournament of some sort or what?

  • Are you braindead? because i couldve SWORN they tell you the point

  • Ye they tell the point like 5-6 times :D its all abt spirituality

  • is that ture?

  • I love the look of Parkour... is really beautiful...

  • Wish I could take an actual course. Hopefully this comes to the US soon.

  • Scared of heights. Problem?

  • screw mirror's edge. the real stuff is more fun

  • now everyone knows about it because of mirrors edge

  • I knew about it before mirrors edge

  • Assassin's Creed also has free running and it was out before Mirror's Edge.

  • mirrors edge was based on parkour.

  • No really >.>

  • definitely reminds me of mirrors edge.

  • cool video

  • Amazing For life

  • 5/5!

  • This is simply great.

Finally a new sport worth a damn.

    Mats

  • awesome

  • lively

  • a belt with 5 krylons

  • boahh oida is des geil des mog i a kenna

  • if you dont like a standardization of parkour dont be apart of it jeez!

  • i think im gona pay france a visit.

  • parkour is NOT a joke

    it's a livestil

  • livestil?? what the f*ck

  • yes livestil look it up on wikipedia

  • no dude, i think what you're trying to say is "lifestyle" not "livestil"

  • who cares

  • grammar cares LOL!

  • parkour is such a joke!

  • Why??? Sittin at home eatin McD's all day, couch potato?

  • what???? that makes no sense rayon de solen jaune deplacement

  • i was replying to another guy

  • so now i have to pay people to teach me how to run and jump? fuck that! I'll take my chances teaching myself thanks!

  • I THOUGHT THE WHOLE POINT OF PARKOUR WAS TO GO OUT AND CHALLENGE YOURSELF........... NOT TO MAKE MONEY OFF IT.

Boy, times really suck. Fuck capitalism, fuck commercialism, and seriously FUCK THIS.

  • Okay, this is ridiculous.

These people are trying to create a massive organization to teach parkour. Can you really expect them to find people willing to teach, spend time administrating, and creating something that will last after they are dead, for absolutely no money? And yes, a part of parkour is challenging yourself. Why does money suddenly make challenging yourself impossible?

  • Yeah very speculative... It can only be don as non profit since it is REALLY easy to do/teach people just need practice. I can see the really good people getting into movies - like the first james bond movie opening scene, that guy knew parkour. It's more of a culture than anything else I guess.

  • awesome!!!

  • yea all you say but it is always knowledge of how to use power.... call it the next kung fu!

  • Parkour est maguinifique. J'adore et voulait à la pratique. C'est très drôles et j'aime!

  • parkour est magnifique*

  • dmtryfs

  • i'm jealous of France...

  • done parkour for about 2 years now. i diden't know what it was when i first started. i was just bored by running.. so i added some jumps and stuff...
