  • sounds like a pretty basic track to play to, as is most police stuff.

  • i figured out why he never shows his face - - it is andy summers

  • you play it different then i do. your ways cool aswell tho

  • Excellent job!!! I've been trying to get my band toplay this song forever....Wankers!!!

    Keep up the great work!!!!

  • so good...

I really love this song. it's my favorite 80s song.

I'd love if I found the real chords for this. I can't quite make out what your hands are doing.

  • that was indescribable, one of my favorite tunes ever. you really paid great respect to the police and andy summers. it gave me chills all over

  • wow

    very good

    loved it

  • awesome dude.........

  • what an honour to listen to,top strings kid

  • i need that chords!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BTW you're awesome

  • nice job, the recording quality came through very nicely. I have to say though, that i do not hear a pitch shifter anywhere in that tone. Mind you im not too familiar with what a pitch shifter actually does or is capable of doing, however i would have guessed that theres a chorus effect on the guitar. A chorus effect with a fast rate will make single notes sound crazy like that in the intro guitar part, and a slower rate for the rest of the song so its subtle but effective.

  • WOW! thats amazing! =D

  • have you written the chords in any page?, because i tried to imitate you but it's difficult, all the usual and most known pages are wrong and their chords dont sound as good as your playing ... so, could you do that??!? PLEASE

  • i saw the police on sunday, they are amazing. i've posted some videos if somebody wants to watch them

  • OMG your are realy good, i want to do it too.

  • dude thats sick

  • You play fine, but you are too herky jerky. sit down and zoom the camera on your hands so people can actually learn something from this, if not, it's just show off time.

  • 'Sounds like': Somebody's kinda MAD that

    'they' CAN'T KEEP UP!!

  • That wasn't "showing off", it was performing...

  • hey this was great! im looking into gettin a guitar...any suggestions for a decent beginners guitar? message me er something. thanks

  • Did you get to see the Police on their tour? I did, I saw them at Fenway in Boston!

  • This guy and the dude who did the bass vid for the song should get together! all they need is a drummer and a decent singer :)

  • yes omg that would be awesome. i will try and get my friend to play it on drums.

  • 'HAHAHA!'

  • Well you don't get much more accurate than that - now I must relearn most of it!

  • oh man...I always loved the guitar on this song...especially the opening! And you did such an awesome job playing it!

  • Nice guitar, but that band's music gives me a headache.

  • yankeesfan571, The Police changed their music style a lot from one album to the next. Their earlier songs sound so completely different from this one that it's hard to believe it's even the same band. Try listening to their other songs. If you want something harder, their songs from the late 1970s were more punk (and reggae). If you want something more mellow, the songs on their 'Synchronicity' album were good.

  • holy diverse! great stuff. Id like to see you do some early ZZ Top.

  • Awesome playing and awesome song! direct to favourites!

  • nice job, great song

  • that guy can really feel the song...what effect did u use here?

  • what are the exact chords you play between 'mother chants right up to suicides are fake' it won't require endless, tiresome tabbing so please could you comment it.

ps- how long have you been playing?

psps you have an excellent dexterity with both your hands.

  • really good job!!!!!

  • this is good playing.....the vast majority of guitarists I know could not play this as well as it has been covered here. A somewhat demanding song to play well I would imagine. The rhythm has to be spot on. This guy can play.

  • Hi there, Fellow guitarist and Andy Summers fan here. Thats the best job Ive seen of Synchronicity, any chance you could let me know the opening chords, I have most of the rest of it. Much appreciated! and well done!

  • Not bad for learning by ear. This is perhaps the most challenging & gratifying Police tune to play on guitar.

Hate to break the news, but the most accurate tab for this song is out of print. It was in Best of Police. The 2nd edition and all of the other tabs I've come across leave out those cool dissonant chords from the "many miles away" fade-out at the end of the song. I'll post in the future & show you what I mean.

  • i like the dancing in the beging

    but seriously

    you kick ass

  • nice job...

  • Seriously, please need tabs! Especially the intro

  • tabs plz!!!

  • awesome!

  • @pvsteodoro i never said i was better this guy is way better w/ the guitar then me ive only played for 2 years i never said i was better then him. stewartcopulate did and i was tellin him to stfu

  • I need to find the tab you used to get this one down.

  • big things comes from simple things. its not how fancy you play, it's how you deliver and affect your audience with your playing that counts. that's how stars are made!!! i agree with taperareks & deathtomanqateens comments. he's seems well versed with the song so i don't know what omfgwhale is talkin' about?!?! i say, omfgwhale better upload a sample of your playing then we'll see/hear how good u r. till then, just put up or shut up!!!

  • stewartcopulate ur a fucking retard u know what when u pick up a guitar and fail miserably at this im gonna laugh yes i play guitar and yes this song is fairly easy but that sound is difficult to emulate

  • I can't understand why everyone's gushing over this. This is elementary guitar play. Any cunt could play this after a few lessons.

  • the police kick ass.

  • why does it matter..

    nice playing

  • why do u whistle at 1.30 u goon

  • damn you're good you rehearsed well what are the first chords to this ? looks easy

  • Fab, one of my favourite police songs and summat I played hard at learning. A little more distortion maybe? otherwise, dead slick!! Like the neck tap harmonics on the bridge.

  • I don't see many guitar players play Police tunes but I'm actually impressed with your take on "Syncro"...It's very difficult to try to emulate Andy Summers feedback parts at the beginning.

  • Dude

All I can Say Is Wow You really Ripped My Favorite Police Song man Nice Tele By the way

  • i was thinkin about learnin how to play this song and you were the 1st one that came to mind... very nice

  • Wow, speaking as someone who loves the Police, that was a flawless performance. You've done them proud.

  • This is coming from a huge Police fan. You've done a great cover of a great song! Really enjoyed hearing it. YO!!!

  • Hey, Nice idea of taping your performance! I was looking for the original videoclip for this song, hoping I could check Andy Summer´s way of playing the song, and your video was really the exact thing I needed to play the song! Thanks for the big help, and congratulations for the great job!

  • As always Yass, excellent cover. Hey, do you do any originals?

  • Thanks for all you guys watchin' this.

I'm sorry for being not able to respond each comment 'cause I do not have much time now. But I'm always checkin' these comments out, and I'll respond that later.

Now I'm showin' about details for my equipments, profile and pics on MySpace. See my top page and check it out URL, Thanks!!

  • You say you're using Pitch Shifter? What exactly are the parameters you have set? I've played this song before using chorus and it sounded pretty good, but this sounds so much more like the actual recording. Nice playing btw. I can see you're using the signature "non-typical Andy Summers" chords hehe.

  • Yep, I'm using the Pitch shifter by Rocktron "Intellifex" multi.

Though I'm only shifting the pitch a little bit to get the effect of the chorus for this.

Also I'm using a digital delay which was set on very short. (30-35msec.)

And that interlude was setting on long delay.

I think that Andy is so cleverly using these effectors and he's so great.

  • synchronicity-band is much better!!

  • Dude...lemme just say that YOU ARE ONE BAD ASS MUTEHR F@$KER. That was soooo awesome. Made me throw my axe in the trash and just forget about it! LOL

  • Don't throw away your ax in the trash! It's just "Mottainai"... :.-(

You should sell it off on eBay before throwing it away. lol

  • I dont think you have enough guitars! you need at least 50 more! Cool man!

  • It doesn't matter how many guitars I have.

It's the matter how to use these guitars. :-)

  • agreed!!

  • Wow, this was a spot-on, perfect rendition!

  • This guy does`nt just copy the note`s and the sound he does each guitarist`s dance lol ! brilliant love it .

  • Great work!!!

  • love that sound of the telecaster

  • Yeah this sound is purely Telecaster sounds.

  • lol that dancing:D

  • Hey damn great job!!! And great song of course ehehheeh

  • Yep, this song is so great of The Police.

  • You're like Andy Summers #2. Nice job. Also, I have the same strap as you!

  • This guitar strap is standard of Fender's. :-)

  • nice!

  • your a beast you need to make a video on how to play police songs that is if you know any more

  • very nice playing friend!

  • Thanks all you guys for watchin' and commenting!!!

I'm sorry for being not able to respond each comment 'cause I do not have much time now. But I'm always checking these comments out, Thanks.

  • a "full cover" would need a bass and a drummer, no?

  • Outstanding!

    Now... Can you do RUSH???

Keep at dude! Can you sing like Sting?, thought I'd ask...

  • Oh...it's so gracious that I sing this song compared with Sting, but...I go to Karaoke and sing that song once in a while though. lol

I know Rush which is the band, but I've not played that...

  • Brilliant cover! You play guitar like I wish I could! Nevertheless, you inspire me to keep pursuing my own rock 'n roll dream. Thank you!

  • I'm really glad and great of it if I was able to inspiring to you even a little.

  • Cool! 'Nuff said.

  • Nicely done, man, nicely done. I'm impressed.

  • Man, that was nothing short of kick-ass. Why can't my band find just ONE, single, damn guitarist like you??

Seriously though, you friggin nailed Synchronicity II and it sounded great. Mucho respect from behind the kit.

  • Wow, thanks for your complimenting.

You're in the something band? I think so great if you so.

  • i lovee thisss song..and the way u play...it's so good really..

do you think you could send me the tabs please..

    isa

  • I'm a bassist but i'm loving this tone you've got

  • Thank you for your watchin'.

You're playing the bass guitar is good. Also I play the bass guitar. :D

  • You have a lot of potential there junior! Check out my band doing this tune for some ideas.

  • Thanks for watchin'. Also your band covers this song is great.

  • Excellent playing. Very good I was impressed.

  • Thank you for your watchin' and complimentin'.

I like this though it might be not difficult to play this song.

  • Great, colourful and subtle playing there. For the novices of us, could you indicate some good guitar methods you've studied through (be it books or websites) or techniques that helped you a lot? Thanks and get a band and a good record deal. You deserve it plenty.

  • Thank you for your watching and complimenting! I'm very glad of your comment.

I'll post my video on YouTube for people who love the guitars purely when I have much time in the future.

  • Thank you I really enjoyed that you actually have an ear for guitar tone and not mega overdrive with no mids. I also liked how you physically got into your playing you dont see that with most people who post guitar videos..BTW..what video and recording equipment did you use to make this?

  • I'm so glad if you were able to enjoy this. I'm using cheap and compact digital camera for these video. Of course, because the internal organs mic is not so good, I'm always using MTR for only the recording of sound though I'm recording the image and the sound at the same time. If both are recorded directly with that digital camera, the noise becomes very obstructive, it becomes hard to listen to the guitar sound.

  • i enjoyed you, really good.

  • Thank you for your enjoying.

  • Man, great job on an awesome song! can't wait to see The Police play this one on tour this summer!

  • Yeah, this song is awesome. You can see The Police on this summer!

It will exactly become a compilation of The Police!

But I think that it's the end of the year if they are seen in Japan even if it's early 'cause I'm in Japan....

  • Nice playing, cool vid. It's good to see something a bit different posted here with guitar playing -- mostly guys doing metal riffs poorly.

  • Thanks for watchin'. I think certainly that this song is a bit different compared with other songs who I uploaded.

During the young or beginners cannot be helped to have such a tendency, but I think that I can understand it.

  • Dude, this is fantastic! Sounds just like the song! I'd love to see you play more Police songs

  • Thank you for your watchin'! I'm so glad that you're favor with The Police.

I'll try to play the other song of The Police again if I got a chance.

  • That was an excellent clip. Fantastic Job.

  • Thank you for the compliment!!

  • Yeah good stuff kid. I do it better on air guitar though!...just kidding

  • I wonder you're Japanese...? Thanks man!

Let me show your air guitar on your channel, ha-ha.

  • Hier kan Zowie een puntje aan zuigen.

  • Oh boy...it's all Greek to me...!

  • Very impressive. Sounds great!

  • Thank you for your watchin' and savin' this on your favorites!!!!

  • Very nice guitarplaying !

  • Thanks guys for watchin'!

  • Awesome - nice guitar work

  • Thanks for your watchin' and saving to your favorites!

  • really good, I'm a belgian drummer and I'm looking for a guitarist like you for my cover band!

  • Wow, you're Belgian! I've been to Belgium before...BTW.

I think it's so great that you're gonna unite The Police's cover band.

Get find out a great guitarist for your band.

  • Soooooo smooth! V. nice.

  • Oh really? I'm very glad that you said it's so.

  • Forgot to mention to robertk2007, Its great there touring again, Stewart & Andy deserve to get the money they've been robbed of over the years, The Police are also recording some new track to add to there New Box set. A lot of teenagers never got to see them live, if all of Led Zeppelin were around they'd be doing the same. Peace Man

  • My Friend, take it from me, That was one of the best renditions of the great Synchronicity II I've heard since Mr. Summers graced us with it, If he does injure himself during the tour, I hope your willing to step into his size sevens, & man if your not in a band, get into one fast. Peace

  • Thank you for your watchin'.

I'm really so glad in above all of your comments!!

  • Your picking technique is pretty cool & fun to watch.

  • I'm grateful to commented about that from you.

  • its sucks they are getting back together. their legend is in tact and this will mess it up. its just a tour of greatest hits with new album. new material i could understand but parading the old hits by 50 and 60 year olds is not my thing. however, i will probably see it if it comes my way.

  • Though I also thought certainly so....but if I can see such a great band again, I'm obediently glad.

I thought similarly about the QUEEN who acted with Paul Rodgers last year. Both I like.

It's so complicated frame of mind exactly....

  • good shot! from a fan of this song

  • Thanks for your watchin'.

This is the one of my favourite song in The Police's album.

  • my father did play the synchronicity LP so many times, its a part of me :D

  • Oh I see...I think that your father has a good taste in music.

  • Oh I see...I think that your father has a good taste in music.

  • I didn't know what to expect when I clicked this. Now I'm glad I did. That was incredible.

  • Thank you for your watchin' this video

Even if you're expected it or not, I'm so glad.

  • Great guitar playing, love the riff play and technique.I'm looking forward to seeing The Police get back together. Never got a chance to see them. Cannot wait. Thanks for making the video.

  • Thank you for your watchin' this video and I'm very glad that you commented like this.

The Police will reunite in Grammy 2007 is so great!

Also they're great artists in UK, WE know.

  • that guitar playing is so good! i love the police and this song, i play guitar but i suck at it!

  • Thank you for your watching this video and your comment first!

Yeah, I love The Police and this song, too.

Mostly guitar players think it's so easy to play this but I don't think so....

More feelings are needed to play this song, I think....

You play the guitar is so great. Practice and try it!!!

By the way, The Police seem to have decided to form again at Grammy 2007. I am very glad!!!!

  • REALLY??? WOW!!!! sorry that just makes me v. happy and excited! they rock! and those chords do not look easy at all, but I am getting better because I love the instrument v. much. some day I will be able to play this song. possiblymaybe.

  • This rumor that they reunite seems to become a reality.

I just confirmed it on the Yahoo! news and other information sources recently.

You indeed, Andy was always playing a complex guitar in The Police is really so cool!
