  • Drummer was Gary Novak, and the Premier Signias he was playign were mine!

  • Oh, yes, that's him! And that's it!

do you know what's the name of bass player here?

  • Gee, that's great

  • Many thanks for posting this fantastic song.

I still would like a video from a performance of this song at fillmore east 97.

Does anybody know what kind of guitar he is playing here?

  • It's a Gibson Les Paul. He's really got a nice tone going on this song. He's a great guitarist.

  • that's not a gibson les paul! it's a taku sakashta guitar

  • @Donincal thats a Sakashta Noupaul Standard

  • Thanks for posting this! This song is called "Freedom" ...never heard it played so well from Robben! Still waiting for Tiger Walk Vol II =o)

  • @giovito77 yeah. . . handful of blues and tiger walk were great album. . . .

I love robben only when he plays with Gar Novak on drums ... then it grooves

  • love robben's playing..such a great emotional guitar player!come to the philippines!

  • Thanks! This song is off one of my favorite RF albums, "Tiger Walk"!

  • i was there right in the front!great show amazing player

  • I just saw Robben last nite in Las Vegas, what a great show!

  • Is he still playing there?

  • It was a small show at the canyon club, a couple hundred people, it was great, i was so close to the stage, Robben is one of the different players out there, not so much a shredder, a real crafty player! Knows his shit

  • All Eric Clapton followers who never heard Robben Ford make me laugh. They all think Clapton is the best blues player of all times. Ask them if they ever heard Stevie Ray... and they'll go, Stevie who?

  • I like Clapton + I like Vaughan + I like Ford. Can we just enjoy good music (whatever the player) or do we need to start another booooring "my fav guitarrist is better than fav yours" kiddy battle?

  • Hey, leave Clapton alone man, he's a great bluesman, equal in his own way to Robben Ford or SRV, Clapton led the way on improvising in rock, and really helped make the blues household, sure his more recent stuff is a bit touch and go, but listen to John Mayall, or Cream live, and then you might understand. SRV and Ford are great, but don't forget that they are building on the shoulders of guys like the three kings, Buddy Guy, Clapton and Hendrix, so show a bit of respect for the pioneers.

  • Could somebody tell me this song name please???

  • Song is called Freedom

  • Thank you very much!

  • robben ford is almost as good as paul taggrt

  • There's a lot of us out here trying to keep the blues alive. Robben Ford does his part. Check out my videos.

  • I like the way Robben has incorporated abit of Hendrix's "Freedom" into the bridge..very clever idea. One of the most tasteful players alive today.

  • He has so good melodic, harmonic and rythmic sence. He's my god. I dream oftenly about how it would be, if I could play like him... oh.

  • u know my guitar teach is the one who turned me on to him. my guitar teacher is an incredible player. he recorded with the doobie brothers. And his playing comes pretty closse to Robben's:)

  • Ecce Homo

  • One of the most tasteful players I can think of. but....my fave part of this vid is when the guitar tech finaly leaves the stage - lol that was distracting.
