  • Others will never understand why gamers have diffrent models of systems, or so many games, or diffrent varaitions. They will never understand.

  • I want to start up a PC Engine collection, but I don't know which is better to get...the core PC engine, or the super graphic engine?...I only intend to play the HuCards and not hte CD based games ...... also can anyone recogmend a good list of the must play platformer and shoot em ups and arcade ports that this system has...(either jap, or the US counterpart is fine)...

  • @medicwheat69 I would just get a Core Grafx to start with. There werent many games made specifically for the Super Grafx. As for games, you cant really go wrong with any of the Arcade ports imo. Check out pcengine.co.uk theres loads of reviews and stuff on there.

  • Do you have the pc engine gt?

  • Less of a review than a guy talking about his retro gaming collecting hobby... I see these from time to time on action here in Japan but I don't really get the appeal. They are big and ugly, unlike they very well designed and sleek core grafx systems. I'd like to get a PC Engine LT one day though. You can get them for between $200-$300.

  • I remember that version of the PC-Engine. It kind of reminds me of those old Adventure People toy vehicles, except it's a video game system. ;-P

  • just thought of something after watching this video for like the thousandth time since that was really for the kid market thats the reason they did that locking thing with the ac adapter port

  • Cool video love tg16 and the pc engine stuff..still have those same Gamepro mags too

  • the pc engine LT (monitor/portable) is at least 1,000 bucks.

  • @DeadIslandTrailers

Not if you know where to get it. Saw one in good condition go for about $300 recently.

  • console looks cracker so it does

  • Your videos rock man keep it up!

  • i didnt see a turbo express when you had all of your systems laid out,but that lt handheld i must admit that is something i hve NEVER seen or heard of i kinda liked my pc express better though ,and didnt they have a japaneese version of the turbo express that was white or something or was it black too?i cant remember, and yea the shuttle i think i heard about it or saw it but till recently when i was lookin for super grafx on ebay

  • @bulletproof2353

The PC Engine GT looks just like the Turbo Express. It's exactly the same aside from the logo.

  • thumbs up for boxed earthbound!

  • No PC-FX?

  • Good to find another PCengine/Turbo Grafx 16 fan. My favorite system of all time!

  • its look like(the tifoo) a small cockpit in grandizer the name of old old japanese cartoon

  • You guys should open up a nerd bed and breakfast where we can come and stay and check all this stuff out.

  • your still missing one

your missing the child - the turbo express

  • i would really love to get my hands on a shuttle and a supergrafx!!!

  • Just like you I saw this PC-Engine special in a British magazine and it immediately fascinated me. It was like some other dimension beside NES and SEGA that had all these obscure titles. The fact that PC-Engine was never released in Holland made it even more intriguing to get my hands on one ! I finally got to borrow one AND a PC Engine GT around 1992 which was so cult! It blew me away. Sadly they were just TOO expensive to buy/import back then. They are STILL on my wish list tho !

  • Didn't know they made that many pc engines. Awesome info. Thanks

  • Dam,i used to have one of these, bought off ebay years ago for around £35!Unfortunately went through a selling stage of all my retro stuff that didnt get used much and sold it for around £80.Also sold my original white pc engine and turbo duo. So wish i had'nt sold it all now! Nice collection!

  • i always thought this thing looked like the Atari Jaguar. although i think it's safe to say that this machine had a LOT more awesome games than the Jaguar ;)

  • That is way cool. I'm a big Turbo Grafx fan but i'd never heard of this one. You have an amazing collection

  • one of the coolest looking systems ever =)

  • PC Engine FX is missing from the collection

  • @tachprime PCFX Is next gen but yeah you have a point, hes also missing pc engine LT

  • @tachprime ui should have watched whole vid before posting,

  • @skunkkey666 I know the PC engine is next gen its just that he said he had completed is PC engine collection and thought that he should include since at the time lukeMorse1 was selling his i beleive

  • PC Engine LT. 1000GBP

  • cool, :)

  • Very interesting, I never heard of this.

  • i saw it flying over Hoth once

  • When you get the LT & GT you can show 'em all at once. :)

  • Man, that is awesome. I am happy you got one...

  • i used to have one :/

  • @himortal7 really ?

  • Hehe - I was going to mention the LT to you to whet your appetite in case you hadn't heard of it - but you totally beat me to it :P

I think the only other rarity is that in car / GPS version isn't it? Although I may have muddled that up with another console as a quick google returns nothing. I guess in that case there's just the Sharp X1 Twin and the Pioneer Laserdisc add-on unit if you're feeling crazy enough to collect either of those - possibly not! :)

Keep up the great work on these :)

  • SUBSCRIBED to your channel , think your enthusiasm for gaming is great and genuine

I Look forward to your new vids :)

  • How the hell can he afford all that? Anyway it's nice to find people that know about gaming outside Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. Jeez.

  • @alagear He's been collecting since he was a child. Its not like he just went out and bought it all at once. Plus he has a good job because he's very intellegent.

  • @alagear

An unboxed shuttle just went ended for $30 on an auction in Japan. They aren't that expensive if you know where to look.

  • @alagear Did you have to add 'Jeez' at the end.

  • @alagear "How the hell can he afford all that?" It takes years to build a collection like this. I assume that he is in his 30's and that he has been collecting since he was a kid.

  • Your also missing the Duo-R and TurboExpress

  • kick ass man!!ick ass!!

  • I've always been fascinated with the shuttle as well. Thanks for showing us other fans what it's like.

I myself have been wanting a Duo-R and the LCD screen that matches the PC-Engine Duo. Those two things, Turbo Express and Turbo CD would just about complete the hardware part of my TG16/PCE collection.

Wasn't there a white PC-Engine shuttle at one time? It seems like there may have been but, I may be wrong.

There's another variation of the TG16 in some other country but, forgot where.

  • hey man, do you have the turbo express? doesn't that count as the pc engine family? or by it being portable it doesn't count?

  • What kind of lighting set up do you use? Your videos look amazing.

  • i saw that pc engine with screen on 1 of luke morses episodes in hard off

  • Johnny: You could probably get a Turbo Express (export version) for cheaper than you could get the PC Engine GT.

  • Grats on your complete PC Engine collection!

  • Thats not a game consol. Its a Star Trek ship model!

  • Woah, that's gotta be one of the neatest, most unique designs I have seen for a console. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this piece of tech =)

  • Very Very cool.

I love the old Gamepro mag shots. Perfect.

I saw Metal Gear on the back and wow that takes me back.

  • I don't own a videogame collection, I usually sell my consoles after a while even though I love them (you know that being a collector is hard work, and I know I can't do it), but I've been thinking about getting myself a PC Engine.

I first saw a PCE on a game magazine, and loved the idea of cards. I've played lots of PCE games through emulators (99% of my gaming life revolves around emulators), but I really feel I HAVE TO buy a PC Engine. I know I'll do it, sooner or later.

    Congratulations!

  • Wanna go for a ride on it !!!

  • yo dude nice collection never knew about the shuttle very nice vid or the lt wow. anyways i was wondering i knew about the super grafx for awhile but wasnt there another one in the shape of a computer?

  • "My local save on foods" haha

  • haha. How could you lie to everyone like that?! Seriously though, gratz on completing your PCE collection, for real. :)

  • Excellent episode. I have a PC Engine Shuttle but its missing its "cockpit window". Anyone with spare "cockpit window" i'd be happy to compensate you. I thought the Shuttle was obscure even back in the mid' 90s so I picked one up on-sale $99 a at local import / domestic gaming store. Its barely been used because most of my gaming was done on TurboDuo due to the accessible CDROM gaming ^_^

  • you take good care of your gaming mags. i have some egm's from '91 that look like they were shit on.

  • this reminds me of of the cars in F-Zero for some reason...

  • Awesome pickup man! That's an awesome system and I've been searching for one as well to add to my collection. Great find.

  • Wow cool vid Never heard about the shuttle til now.

Towards the end of the vid I hear Mother Earth Altago playing. ^_^

Man I can't to import Ys 7 (Having lack of funds sucks!).

  • Does the PC Engine Shuttle controller have a standard plug that works with all PC Engine systems or is it a special plug so it only works with the Shuttle?

  • Cool vid...

the console sucks though, Damn GAMEPRO magazine for promoting that garbage.

I'm glad it flopped. they should have made something better than that. Thought you had a turbo grafx express=pc-engine LT.

The video is still interesting thanks to the story and all.

  • @CEEPMDEE -- You don't make any sense. That 1989 issue of Gamepro was very insightful at the time. Many of us never knew NEC had several incarnations of PC Engine. Besides, like HCG said, the PC Engine Shuttle was geared towards the younger gamers in Japan.

  • 1st Grooveraider, thanks 4 NOT bein an asshole. I just think we where getting ripped off back then.

the arcades where so much stronger than home consoles n it makes me mad just thinking about it. they could have made it with a cd upgrade built in at least

  • yay for the pc engine I had the turbo graphix and DUO

  • Game and console collecting can sometimes feel like a kind of sickness sometimes, can't it? I got a few titles I'd still like to get including a few import Saturn games like Radiant Silvergun and Akumajou Dracula: Nocturne in the Moonlight. But with times being the way they are, I think I'll stick to mainstream releases for the time being. I'd like very much to procure an American copy of Valis III but the CD component of my TurboGrafx conked out a few years back. :(

  • @YoureNotAlexander -- Times are rough economically, I totally agree. Depending on how bad you want it - the CD component of your Turbografx-16 can be repaired. Do a Google search for: Old School Gamer They can fix it ^_^

  • When I got a bit of money to spend, I may go ahead and do that. To be honest though, I'd be content with a good emulator. Unfortunately, Magic Engine doesn't like to play the music tracks when running a Turbo CD game. Such a shame to as otherwise, it's a perfect TurboGrafx emulator. If anyone can help me figure out how to make that work, I'll go ebay me a copy of Valis III next paycheck (probably not actually as I very much want to get the School Rumble season 2 DVD boxset but soon though).

  • That does look brilliant, never even heard of that style one before, cool

  • AMAZING! Dude, you're so awesome. You're very persistent! You rock, man.

  • your TG16 collection is just about complete Another great video. Once my segs collection is done I'll start my tg collection.

  • Sweet!!

  • We all know that you're PC Engine IS NOT complete (aside from the LT). I predict that you're going to buy a Core Grafx I eventually. It matches the colours of your Shuttle and Super Grafx!

  • Nice!

  • Nice one man. Hope to see some new vids soon =).

  • Wow, those Gamepro magazine covers look so familiar. Ugh........I'm so old. LOL! :)

    Great stuff! As always!

  • Looks like Samurai Goroh's F-Zero. :D

  • You seemed to indicate that you were happy that it had no box. Why? Was it just because it meant the price was lower making it in your price range?

  • Once again, another informative and interesting video. This was the first I'd heard of this.

  • Sweet! :D Congrats on completing your collection!

  • Looks a little bit like an alarm clock :)

  • Wow! I didn't know that the thing Danny Glover used to kill the Predator was a PC-Engine system too!.....Be carefull, it's VERY sharp and I heard if you beat Splatterhouse on it you win an antique pistol, but Iv'e never done it........Emilo SNEStevez did.

  • What PC Engine collection would be complete without the PC Engine GT-LT.

  • D'oh I posted before I saw the finished video.

Great viddeo good luck with the LT.

  • Fuckin' awesome as usual, your videos are seriously professional.

    Yourself and Rob rule!

  • Keep making videos man. Good stuff.

  • Nice pickup HCG! While I don't have any interest in ever getting a Shuttle myself, I did just receive a Shuttle controller.

  • just let me come over so i can organize your shelf!

  • I dunno why anyone would buy a shuttle. it looks ugly and you can't use standard add-ons.

  • awesome man, glad ya found one!!!

  • I remember the Shuttle. Never really liked the looks of the thing (compared to the perfect PCE anyway) but it is rare and that controller looks cool too. It does look like a Shuttle. I mean I never really noticed that before lol but wings on the back and the window up front. I think Luke showed us an LT at Hard Off once. I'm sure it was crazy expensive.

  • You lied to me! LOL. That's okay Johnny. I was none the wiser.

Cool system and congrats on completing your PCE collection!

  • do you have a TurboExpress? I really want to add that to my collection. I just got a Sega Nomad.

  • agreed, HCG is awesome, i wish i knew people like him down here in TX.

  • I just had to pause the video, I had to say this now.

This man, ladies and gentlemen, is a True Gamer. And one of You Tubes Kings.

    I love your show man.

  • Very nice video, glad you got the Shuttle safe and sound. It really is a neat little system and a great conversation piece.

When I heard you say your PC Engine collection was complete, I was thinking to myself what about the LT, and then you said it lol. That system is cool but really more of a novelty than anything today. I would love to find a Duo Monitor for my collection but they are also very rare and expensive.

  • cool video :) could you do a video on review aout SF4 for PC?

  • Dude!! Awesome!! I've never heard of the

Shuttle before! I think it looks very cool! It's fun and sleek. I love how I learn something new everytime I tune into this show! Johnny, you are the PC Engine king!!

  • Looks like an Atari Jaguar

  • Great video as always, man. Keep it up!!

  • It seems that the Japanese keep their boxes more. I always see Chrono Trigger boxed for super fami for like $15. I also have been wanting to get the original Shin Megami Tensei game for the Super Fami, which you can get boxed for cheap!

  • A Love Story!

  • woot for toliet seat!

  • it looks like a toilet seat cover

    yay for completing your collection!

  • can someone help me??

before i had my atari 2600 i had a game system and i dont remember what it was called i think it just had 5 games built in, it had a gun and i think it had a pong type game cant remember anything else. anyone know what it is?

  • Possibly the "Telestar home Arcade"?

  • Hey ROB!

  • still need the pc fx! now THAT would be an awesome episode! good luck and keep up the good work!

  • What about the PC Engine GT?

  • in a issue of gamepro they did there fav cover art and the issue at 2:44 was number 1

  • Looks like a sexy system. Sadly NEC hasn't had the best of luck with the word 'Grafx'.

  • you're either ignorant or just stupid. 16 bit graphics were being first introduced, and the TurboGrafx-16 blew people's minds. I must admit that the Genesis was around in america first, but fewer people actually bought one before the Tg-16 came out. and remember this was 19 years ago.

  • Whoa, calm down dude. If you seen my channel I'm actually one of the biggest fans of the Turbografx out there and it was 20 years ago. I was just saying that NEC had some tough luck with certain systems like the Super Grafx which only lasted a year.

  • awesome!

  • is it just me or is it a wee bit darker

  • nice find! congrats on completing the collection. :)

  • Ok i think its a little bit nuts to own that much pce :D but i like your enthousiasm and vids :P

  • Cool man

I had never heard of it but it looks cool.

The only thing i know of is the turbo graph system 16 back in the 80's

    cool man

  • back in the early '90s you mean

  • Hehe I bought a PC Engine today, can't wait to play it :-)

  • I'm surprised you don't want the ultra rare UK model though. I've got two in my collection, but was totally by accident.

But there's a clone of the shuttle called the PC Boy. Really nice to own too, absolutely worthless, but a nice talking point.

  • Get a Turbo Express!!!

And girlfriends never understand awesome things. My girlfriends the same way about me and my game collection. She doesn't like it so she doesn't understand how someone else might.

  • PC engine LT buy it now price on ebay is $1,446.10 yikes!

  • wow that system looks so cool i want it now

  • Does anyone know if a PAL Turbo Grafx will work with a US Turbo CD unit?

  • It does yes.

  • Thanks :)

  • Excellent pickup man. I don't think Luke himself own this. I never seen this before(looks more like a hover craft) but PCE sure spawned a lot of cool looking machines. I'm not a big fan of its games but loved how it the graphics looked back in the day.

  • Yet another great video! I've owned pretty much every incarnation of the PC Engine except for the Shuttle, or as I always used to see it referred to as, the Shuttegrafx. Once I found out it couldn't hook up to the CDROM attachment, I decided not to buy one. Also, I was wondering if you would say something about the PC Engine LT. I always wanted one of them, but they are SO expensive. It was way ahead of its time, and too expensive to be a success. Keep the awesome videos coming!!!!

  • That design reminded me somewhat of the Atari Jaguar, I have to say :/

  • Well done on getting all the pc engines =D

  • Congrats Man. Its one of the best looking consoles Ive ever seen.

  • What's going to happen to all that stuff when you die?

  • I wouldn't mind seeing a lookback on old school adventure games from your perspective.

  • Congrats to Happy Console Gamer :) You know, it was kinda funny to hear you tell us how hard to get the Shuttle version is 'cause I got mine (with out a box) 1-2 years ago for less than $200 (and I think it was closer to $100) total. And though I wanted it for it's AV-outputs I wasn't exactly hunting for it 24/7 on Ebay. I guess it's simply about a good timing. For so long I wanted to get Sailor Moon for the 3D0 but there was a time when it simply wasn't on Ebay. But I eventually got it too :)

  • Nice find.

  • Kinda reminds me of one of the cars from F-zero.

  • you'll let it go until you find yourself buying one lol.

Looks like Samurai Goroh's F-Zero Machine to me....

    Peace and take care

    Aberran

  • Good stuff here. Get to some Shen Mue, brother.

  • Nice pickup, do you have the rare PC Engine accessory called the Virtual Cushion?

  • Looks like a mini jaguar : )

  • Very cool! Congrats!

  • What a cool addition to your collection.

And what do girl friends know about games ha ha ;o)

  • Man those magazines of yours are in great condition! I really liked the review of the system.

  • Awesome, glad you found it! It's a damn nice looking machine.

  • very awesome....

Have heard of it...but never seen one...

    Congrats... :D

  • do you have a turboexpress

  • i remember that add on the back of that gamepro GEAR UP METAL GEAR

  • wow it looks like a jaguar

  • LOL! the shuttle looks like a F-Zero ship

  • yes exactly haha good observation

  • This is a perfect example of why a person should never give up on a search. I know speaking for myself when you actually find whatever it is that you are looking for, its such a rush. Just like treasure hunting, probably just as addictive as any drug out there. Anyway great find and great vid as usual.

    Keep up the great work.

  • Great vid as always i always wanted a PPE/TGX16 but could never aford or find one

  • the LT looks really cool

  • thank you for this video

  • A Millenium Falcon Turbo Grafx for Johnny Millenium! lol

  • I totally understand your need to complete it man.

  • would be cool 2 see it in action! :O

  • nicw review 5/5 :)

  • Ok now am super jealous of you Johnny lol.

I would be happy just to have a Supergrafx but getting a Shuttle would be sweet too Congrats on the find.

  • damn that looks sweet, great video again :)

  • wow, pretty interesting stuff, i think i can talk for a lot of people when i say i didnt know that peice of machinery existed, thanks for sharin!

  • Congrats man! I'm happy for you, is always a great thing to complete a collection...

  • That thing is really neat. Never heard of it before. You should hang it up someplace and fly it around. haha.

  • "why you need all those pc engine" answer: im a man, women!!!

  • So the only thing different about it is the design? How much was it originally going for?
