  • This song speaks to the heart of every balkan. It reminds us a dream of our ancestors, a dream that the Balkan people will leave behind their differences and united will seek a better future... because before being Greek , Serbian, Bulgarian, Bosnian, Albanian, from F.Y.R.O.M., or Montenegrin, we are BALKAN, crazy and capable for the most unbelievable things!!!

  • @SuperKofas We are balcanian too, yes but... unfortunately Greek language is much differnet than the rest language are with each other. I think this is a fact. Sad or not. Its a huge cultural burden.

  • I see you guys arguing in here for who is what and I laugh,Greeks are saying alxandar its ours bullgarians are saying it's ours and both of them forget that there it's not such a thing like pure Greek or bullgarian, don't forget both of you are Turkish bastards ok,500 years under othoman emparatory so think deep a lttle bit and ask your grand mothers better for your roots!!!lol

  • @chapkeni actually was 400 years dude.learn history ffs and then comment!

  • VERY GREAT SONG

  • yasa amare romenge yasa o dusmayna te payron

  • aleksander the great is macedonian mother fucker , no greek gipsy

  • @makedon1948 I feel sorry... Not about your opinion... About you... You just repeat what you had been taught or what you've heard... I dont know... I would prefer to believe that people of Skopjia are people who think, not tapes of their politicians... Alexander used to be greek... And your national hero, Sadanchky, Bulgarian... You can use history the way you like, but you cannot change it... And of course, you cannot make us to believe it...

  • Greece is Greece, Romania is Romania. This song is NOT Macedonian. It is a Roma song. Macedonia is not a state. It is a big part of Greece. Macedonia IS Greek. Skopja is not Macedonia. Alexander the great was Macedonian. Greek. And all the things you say are a result of low culture. Learn history.

  • @SuperApaki .Part of ancient Macedonia now belongs to Skopians. Can These people call themselves Macedonians ?

  • one of my ancestor is famous and well known all over the world it's jesus christ because I am jewish! I do not make a fuss about it, because in any religion ttere is good and bad, so to any sectarian especialy this retarded ilove soda cut the crap and let's try to work together!

    thank you

  • This song is from SeRbiA, and famous Goran Bregovic. LOng live all gypsies and serbs,we are the most emotional people on the world, our music says everithing !!! Srbija do Tokia !

  • This is Croatian song

  • i am serbian and that is the gypsy version of the serbian djurdjevdan( st.george`s day) both songs ederlezi and djurdjevdan are know in the hole balkans but ederlezi is much older than djurdjevdan. bregovic wrote djurdjevdan on the melody of ederlezi it is an old roma folklore song.

    sorry for bad english

  • ave bahtale kalo

  • VERY NICE!!!!ΠΟΛΥ ΩΡΑΙΟ

  • Forget for a mo. the everlasting arguments about Greece. Macedonia, Bulgaria & Al da Gr8 -- and I speak as one with personal involvement -- some of u have gone off on a tangent. Ederlezi is a Muslim-Christian mash-up sung always in Romany (aka Romanez) because, as it says, it's about Sar o Roma (all the Gypsies). It's a Romany song. Please ignore wikipedia's dodgy translation.

  • can anybody translate it for me into some English? German? Wow, what a song

  • SRBIJA DO TOKIJA... \||,,

  • Kostagh I agree with you! Makedonias..spoke Japanese! Hirohito grand father had a Saisa in his living room! Thias and some other reliable things you can read in Bulgarian hirtorical library! By misyake ALL the scripts are in Greek. Kostag do not believe the exiastance of Pela.... no way! Do not accept that Philipos grave was in Vergina! All are a bad propaganda of the new Greeks! The truth is ONLY in Bulgarian historical references! Hirohito spoke Bulgarian I think!

  • Come on annitanguera,,,, 777buzzzbuzz is Bulgarian.... this can explain why he has that historical knowledges! Alexander the grate was Slav :) and Thraki is Bulgarian and maybe ... north pole belongs to Skopje! Who knows? If we listen to Bulgarians we might hear even worst historical statements!

  • The Earth is flat

    Donkeys can fly

    and

    Alexander the great was Bulgarian

  • Alexander the Great lived some 1000 years before the Balkans heard that there existed such a thing as Slavs! He was a Thracian! Not a Slav!

  • hajde pame , cok güzel, izmir den selamlar

  • erdelezi is a gyspy song =)

  • ederlezi : Jupsy :)

  • Hi im from greece too and all here we can say for sure its not a greek song and we r not trying to claim rights from noone..Just the dude that he upload it he was a bit dump..I dont know and i dont care if its Yugoslavian Jupsy or indian song...i just know it's a GREAT song..

  • it is a song from a serbian gypsi

  • y guys wtf? listen to the song and dont claim rights about it.music is free! and when u say Macedonia referring to FYROM plz name it as it rly is "Yugoslavia" or "Skopia".ty

  • This music write Goran Bregovic for film DOM ZA VJESANJE

    Emir Kusturica

  • this is 100% GISPY song. its not greece its not makedonian (wtf there is not such a country) its not serbia. thats PURE GIPSY folklore.accept it.

  • you're right, but not 100 %

the song is written by goran bregovic, a serbian gypsy legend

  • omg, Goran Bregovic didnt wrote that song, he made different arrangement. ..... ..... .... how can you be so stupid to think he is the writer. Thats why is called folklore, because there is not autor.

  • no you dont understand, first the song was on serbian language, the bregovic makes it on roma!

do you understand? i am roma i know what i speak!

  • Not correct he is From Bosnia born in Sarajevo not a Serbian

  • his mother is from serbia his father is from croatia. today it's bosnia, but at his time it was yugoslawia.!

  • saraevo is serbian

  • i mean yugoslavian

  • @Jigov _the music was composed by Goran Bregovic, who is a Serbian artist, for a movie about gypsies called ,,house for suspension,,or on ,,serbian dom za vesanje,,

  • @milanche89cakg The fact that he took a gipsy melody and changed few accords dont make it a new song, and dont make Bregovic composer of this. He might has composed music, but this melody is not one of them. This song exist in Bulgarian gipsy comunity befor Bregovic was born.

  • @Jigov nerd rage? First of all, saying its not greek, u include makedonia, cause makedonia is a region in greece. Second propably the uploader pointed out it was from a greek singer, and he got misanderstood. And last learn some maners

  • @katharm4 Makedonia is region in Bulgaria too... my manners are good enough for youtube.

  • @Jigov yeah as a geographical place yes, cause of many wars (in recent history) this place was divided and its now part of many countries. But ur not refering to geographical place, ur refering to people/nation, and macedonian ppl live in greece, like spartan ppl live in greece, they are the same nation since ancient time, thats. So saying its not a european song nor a german song is like saying the same thing, i just wanted to clarify this.

  • @katharm4 exaclty by people they are Bulgarians. Because they speak Bulgarian language, they have Bulgarian names, they have Bulgarian folklore and clothings, only the fact that they pretend to be ancestors of Alexander (which is absurd) is greece or their country flag. But exactly by people/nation they are Bulgarians. Cuz dont forget that since SImeon The Great (927) Makedonia is part of Bulgarian country and the people are part of Bulgarian nation, even till today.

  • (part 1 out of 2) about ur last part, since ancient time greeks lived in a region called makedonia (like greeks that lived in a region called sparta making them spartans but also greeks) these ppl because of wars moved on to live in the same geographical area (macedonia) but where absobed by other countries too (and lived happily ever after also).(part 1 out of 2)

  • @katharm4 (part 2 out of 2) I agree that they are ancestors of grt alexander on these countries, but a long time ago, these ppl had greek roots and blended with other countries, so yes bulgari has a geographical part of macedonia, and share also the greek calture of that area , i believe they are ansestors of great alexander too, and by that i mean they once walked the streets of macedonia as greek philosophers, and poets.(part 2 out of 2)

  • @katharm4 look friend i am not saying Alexander was not greek, i am just saying that these people in FYROM are pure Bulgarians, thats what i am saying. WE - Bulgarians are here on the balkans loooong time ago (even the word Balkan is a Bulgarian word) You have to know better than me (if you know your own history) because we had many wars in the past, but also we had very good cultural exchange.the Bulgarians brought many things to Europe but also learnt many things from the Greeks.

  • @Jigov i agree to all.

  • @Jigov did you knoow that alexander the great was bisexuel? so what is all the vfuss about?

  • @katharm4 alexander the great was bisexuelso what is the fuss?

  • Its a Romani Song, you ignorant bastards.

You hippies act like you know facts... fucking wankers.

  • @Jasha91 explain what "Romani" means?

  • @Jigov it's what people usually call in english "gypsies". look up this song on wikipedia they post the lyrics for the romani verison, bulgarian, greek, turkish, etc. and the English translation

  • @Jigov

ok, ok, ok, we love it anyhow :) no one can "owe " a song... this is the beuty of the song.. it belogs to everyone who SINGS it :)

    hug.

  • it´s not greek nor is it makedonian, it´s a Roma song and Roma are indian and this song has been sung in anatolia long before it came to yugoslavia, but what the heck - its MUSIC - dont always politisize music pls !

  • @Klangspiel if i could i would give more than one thumbs up for your comment! Thank you for putting this so straight!

  • :-)

  • @Klangspiel rightly say it is my friend so I know a Romagna and every song that comes from Roma

  • Comment removed

  • Nobode said it is greek, I don' t know why this girl or guy wrote "greek", mayde it is a versioin sung by a greek singer, but it has nothing to do with greek origin. By the way, be careful how you use the word "Macedonian". This is slavic, Macedonia is greek.

  • go study history, dude.. Macedonia is BULGARIAN and this is a FACT!

  • what are you talking about? macedonia is neither greek or bulgarian. macedonia is macedonia. perhaps the language is a dialect of bulgarian but thats all...

  • Comment removed

  • You are not normallll

  • as i have already answered to another person, you can just go and read any random historycal book where u can read about the world history or balkan history. u can also of course google it and read it urself. the fact that after the liberation from turkey bulgaria didnt have a decent political figures, doesnt mean macedonia wasnt bulgaria. this has never been an undependant country afterall... but it's ok. in 20 years kosovo will also say that has never been serbia.. but kosovo is serbia

  • this is surely not all, sweet. u just need to read some history :) the have an opinion about it

  • Really? Since when?

  • since ever, dear :) if u want to have proves, you can just read a book for example.. not magazine.. a BOOK. u can pick up any random historical book that conserns world history or balkan history. if for example u r not in a mood or feeling too lazy u can just google it :)

  • That' s strange, if the ancients Macedonians weren' t greek, how do you explain the fact that they spoke ancient greek? That all the inscriptions found in Macedonia are greek and that their kings had allways greek names?

  • Who told you Macedonians spoke Greek?? This was a second language, such as Latin in Western Middle Age, it was not their native tongue. They spoke Protolatin. Variations were spoken by Thracians from Baltic Sea to Asia minor (Troja was by Proto-Thracians, Pelasges). Hence, the language of the Romans. Latin (idiom of it) can be found throughout the Balkans. It is a fact that Romans needed NO translators with the Thracians and many Roman emperors had Thracian ascent.

  • You live in your own world...

The ancient greek inscriptions that were found there, and also the names such as Philippos, Alexandros, Olympias, Antigonos, Perdikkas and many others which have a meaning in the greek language told me so. Now, leave me alone, I got bored.

  • @Kostagh

not a clue of history, not even close to lunguage setup af antiquity, well as linguist u kinda inveted a dialect :)

leave it be we are all balcans no need to steal an identity we can accept u as the inhabitants of your area no need to invent something :)

  • By the way, for your information, I have read a lot of history books, and I have studied history and archaeology.

  • hahaha anita, girl. u clearly knwo nothing of history. just go and read something

  • Listen, you don' t know me, You can' t call me "Anita" and you don' t know history. I studied for this. You can tell any bullshit to no matter whom, but not to me. OK? My argun=ment is very rational and this is why you can' t answer. I refuse to continue talking to you. I only talk with reasonable people who respect. Not you.

  • On the pic is russian actress Svetlana Toma in russian gypsy film "Gypsies going to Sky". my favorite soviet movie...

  • Nai dobrata e SOFI MARINOVA i SLAVI TRIFONOV BULGARIA

  • somebody can traslate the lyric?

  • All my friends are dancing the oro Dancing the oro, celebrating the day All the Roma, mommy All the Roma, dad, dad All the Roma, oh mommy All the Roma, dad, dad Ederlezi, Ederlezi All the Roma, mommy All the Roma, dad, slaughter lambs But me, poor, I'am sitting apart A Romany day, our day Our day, Ederlezi
  • what is Ederlezi?? a name?

  • ederlezi ==>> hidirellez

hidirellez is turkish name for new year or new spring (festivals) :)))

so this culture from Turkish Culture...

  • you are mistaken its not, both cultures celebrate spring so after living 600 years together the names just sound similar in fact spring is no longer celebrated by most turks now

the song has nothing to do with turks either

sorry but this is the reality

  • this song is in cyspy language, yes :) but i said this is from old old old anatolian culture :)) thats normal we ar neighbour with near cultures. :)))

  • Even if the words are related, this doesn' t mean that it has to do with the turkish culture

  • my mother

  • Shukar!!!!!

  • Who is singing this cover?
