Dave is an original Metallica member who then founded Megadeath. Pretty classy of him to play with Metallica though. Megadeath is pretty awesome just didn't get the fame Metallica did. Hell, Metallica had at least 6 albums before they (technically) sold out and got mainstream fans and fame. But they did deserve their fame.

Kirk Hammett I cannot ignore contributed so much to the Metallica sound with his skill. People dock him hard but I give him respect. He can shred too, PLUS he was taught by Joe Satriani. @itsadove technically no, he was the lead guitarist for about a year, and it wasn't like james and kirk were gonna write new solos when they had a deadline to meet, and sure some of the songs were Dave's, but when he was in Panic he wrote them with his bandmates. Dave says that they were his but that's not true, James, Lars, and Ron improved the songs in metallica then ron left then dave was kicked out.
