Wow interesting, I had no idea European artists were getting screwed too. I was just wondering the other day about how the strike was affecting people outside the US.

Its not getting screwed, it is the way it should be. Workers outside of the US understand that they are not investing their money and do not deserve residuals unless they are so great that they negoitate individually to get residuals. Its call capitalism and free market economy. Unions were created to protect people from real problems like unsafe work conditions, NOT residuals.
Yeah, this video shows that "they" definitely understand that they don't deserve residuals...and that they have the option of negotiating individually...are we seeing the same video here?
Writers, directors, actors, etc. are perfectly entitled to residuals. It's very simple. When a show first runs on a major network, the company sells ads and makes money off of it. This profit is shared with the writers, actors, directors, crew....everyone who creates the show.
If the same show is rerun on a channel such as TBS, TBS then sells more ad space and makes a new profit off of the same product. Thus, the people who created the product are entitled to a portion.
if YOU invest in something with your own money and pay an employee to work for you, YOU are entitled to profits, but your employees are not entitled to profits because your employees do not share in the risk of losing money if your business fails. Same here, until writers are willing to give back when their are loses, then they are not entitled to its profits! You will learn this 19 year old purplestarz2006.
Wait for the Oscars...they'll pay all the spitted arrogance with gold (and maybe some shares)!

Why not import Canada, Australian, England, New Zealand, and South African scripted series as filler?

You're a troll. Entertainners don't work every year as normal union workers.
