i think that the temp moniters are bs. i used it and just starting it up after a night it says its at 100+ F. thats not true after having like 10 hours to cool down adn the whole computer is cold. i really have no problem with the settings apple has choosen for when to do the fans.

I wouldn't recommend running your fans at maximum RPMs.

@jordanimal58 I mostly run them at half speed. like 3000 RPM.
