tibetan and chinese hating one another and making mokery of themselve to others. who is benefiting from it, are we? no, its other countries around us, i don't want to name them. are we exile tibetan happy in india and nepal? no, we are treated like lower race but still we won't acknowledge for our pride and keep thanking them. i do know that some of the chinese are very racist and call us thiefs, barbarians and serfs. and also there are officials who are wicked and corrupted and hates us.
His Holiness: Yes. Tibetan culture is not only ancient but relevant to today's world. After seeing the problems of violence, we realize that Tibetan culture is one of compassion and nonviolence. There is also the climate. In India during monsoon season, it is too wet. Then, I very much miss [Tibet].
Chinese government never oppress Tibetan culture. in fact, the action of destroying minority culture will cause a revolt among all the chinese people.
ask yourself, when is the last time you heard of the promotion of natives culture by america and australian government? i think they are probably going extinct.
Destroying 99% of Tibetan landmarks, killing 1 million people (=1 Tibetan on 3), not respecting customs and Tibetan habits, using torture, threaten foreign governments which receive HH Dalai-Lama, that is not oppressing Tibetan culture??? Let me also remind you that revolts have reached Tibet several times since the last 60 years.
BUT I agree that the behavior of the USA and Australia towards the natives is a disaster for them.ALL are going to disappear if nobody raise against that.
@Cloclozanonyme Where do you get those wrong information? I am sure it's from westeren medias. The fact is that Tibetan culture in China has never been destroyed, instead, it has been highly repected and developed. Great piece of music and song :) Although I cannot understand a word of Tibetan or even the Chinese dialects, but I do deeply appreciate the music and songs of the many Chinese groups. .cos I believe that music and songs in whatever language or dialect be it Indian, Tamil, Russian, Malay or Chinese dialects will appeal to a lover of music...Music will break all barriers....If music be the food of love....play on..

Strongly agree with your first a couple lines, but the latter, I beg to differ. I think Tibetan Should definitely get out, not to blend in, not to vanish, but to influence. To expand their knowledge and culture to other regions, not just in China, but in the world. This singer clearly got some Pop singing skills in her songs.... yet, this song still sounds authentic & refreshing. It's a new brand, new mix, new to the old culture. It should reach to more ppl & audience. So New here, reads Enrich.
@Stevie924011 What is the biggest contribution of the Tibetan people to the world's civilization? You understand you have your racial pride. Be realistic. The social structure of the old Tibet was the most wasteful and inefficient. What percentage of the population served as monks? Monks are not productive members of the society. They do not add anything to the social wealth. They are basically parasites. That is why the old Tibet was so poor.
@xxu0901 And let the children aspire to be whatever they can dream--engineers, artists, doctors, economists and bankers, hotel chefs and TV producers. Why should succeeding generations be relegated to perform in a Tibetan theme park for the vicarious enjoyment of Westerners?
I have lived in Northern Greenland, and the Europeans tried to keep them in a cultural deep freeze just so they could imagine the old way still existed whenever they wanted to see it. Let the people grow and thrive!
@xxu0901 You didnt read my msg right, mister. I never said the old way was the best way. No one in NA would EVER want to go back to the life style 100 years ago, heck, not even 20 years ago, not even last year! So why would Tibetants like to do that? Did you honestly ask every Tibetant in States if they like to herd the sheeps all life long? Abandon all modern aspects? No one would say yes. My point is to evolve with time, merging new concepts & ideas to the old thus make it bigger & stronger.
@Stevie924011 I agree with you completely. I am of Han ethnic, and I do not agree the ways of han should always reach out to others. I think Tibetans should stand up and get out to influence people, to teach them the customs and languages of Tibet. Be strong! brothers and sisters of Tibet!
@OoBlessedSouloO Sorry I'm not familiar with Han's "reach out to others", but as someone mentioned before, Tibetants definitely need to have their own engineers, bankers, economists, just like any other existing culture. Anyway, I'm curious about what Han's (unwanted) reaching out was? Care to enlighten?
I heard that Tibetan pronounce "I" as "nga". (First person)
Cantonese pronounce "I" as "ngo" and Hakka pronounce the word "ngoi".
Tibetan call "eyes" as mig" and Hakka call the same thing as "muk". Tibetan was influenced by both Chinese languages and Indic languages but Indic side has more influence.
Script doesn't necessary relate to the original of a language.
Look at Mongolian. They didn't use cyrillic script in the past. Japanese use script that was derived from Chinese characters . Mongolian isn't related to Slavic branch and Japanese isn't related to Chinese.
The Tibetan script is an Indian or Indic script. You can see the similarity between Tibetan script and Devanagri/Sanskrit.
The creation of the Tibetan script is attributed to Thonmi Sambhota of the mid-7th century. He was sent to India to study the art of writing, and upon his return introduced the Tibetan script. The form of the letters is based on an Indic alphabet of that period, but which specific Indic script inspired the Tibetan alphabet remains controversial.
When Han Chinese live on Tibetan Plateau for only decades, their appearances will make no difference from other Tibetan. This is the influence by the natural environment. But the genetic similarity between Tibetan and Han Chinese can not be changed.
Tibetan language belongs to Sino-Tibetan language family. Major Indian languages belong to Indo-European family. So Tibetan language is different from Indian language.
The Tibetan languages are a cluster of mutually unintelligible Tibeto-Burman languages spoken primarily by Tibetan peoples. The Tibeto-Burman family of languages (often considered a sub-group of the Sino-Tibetan language family) is spoken in various central, east, south and southeast Asian countries. So Tibetan languages are within the Sino-Tibetan language family.
Tibetan culture was influanced by Bhudist monks from Indian in ancient times I guess; but their genetic haplogroup O3 clearly shared the same ancestry as Han Chinese.
I don't know what is Chindians; but it's obvious that majority of Tibetans are genetically related to the Han Chinese (Haplogroup O3) and culturally they were influenced by ancient Indian Bhuddist teaching.
Both Tibetan and Han Chinese are originated from Xian Qiang 先羌 and initially spoke the same language. They were separated around five thousand years ago. One migrated to Tibetan plateau, one migrated to Yellow River valley. This is why some historians claim 'Han and Zang are the one family' 汉藏一家
Tibetans are more similar in appearance to both Native American Indians and Hindu Indians, than Han Chinese. Language is more similar to Hindi as well.
From view point of DNA, both Tibetan and North and South Chinese belong largely to the Sino-Tibetan family, Whereas SE Asian, Korea and Japanese have closer DNA.
Not very accurate. All the non-Africa human races have actually evolved since around 70,000 years ago when several hundred of tribe people migrated out of east Africa through Red Sea strait.
Majority of Han Chinese and Tibetan Chinese are genetically identical, e.g. most man are of Haplogroup O3, which is very different from other Asia races, such as Japanese and Korean. Actually the evolution has not produced any Tibet-specific gene yet. We are all Chinese genetically.
That's interesting! The nearest common ancestor gene for female-male is 40,000-70,000 years ago. I thought our Chinese and Tibetan ancestors were split much later, whereas 'Han people' (from Huangdi's tribe) split from nomads of Siberia (Xianbei, Mongols, Jurchens, etc)5000-10,000 years ago. Don't matter, we're all related, we all tried to kill each other for 1000's of years. We all strive for peace, prosperity and respect now.
The Yuan dynasty was Mongol in origin. Prior to the "peaceful liberation" Tibetans lived their daily lives without any major influences from Beijing. They spoke their own language and practiced their own culture. There were no China towns anywhere in Tibet (ie no Chinese settlements). What has happened to Tibet since the invasion in 1950 is unprecedented historically.
TIBET has been free in all its history. evil China occupied tibet in 1949. since there has been culture genocde racial discrimination inequality no human rights and tortured to its citizen I feel pity to those chinese who says that tibet has part of china since thousands years. I dont blame them though its not their mistake, its their govt who fused misinformation to chinese. like these chinese guy, who after ten years of tainamen square, and in college, dont kno anythin about tainamen massacre.
What if there were a song "(Get) Out of China" because your culture is deemed "backward" and "barbarian" and some colonial powers force you to go out of your homeland to learn their stuffs??
All the politics aside, this is a typical modern Chinese "tableau" music video. They tend to be visually very pretty, and feature lots of camera choreography and creative editing. This particular one might have been better if a "mingzuren", or native speaker/singer from Tibet had been chosen. Even De De Ma 德德马, who is not from this region, but has a powerful Chinese "wild west" style of singing, would have been a better choice for the vocal.
@jevalles Yeah dude, is a beautiful vídeo, and it doesn’t matter from were she is. I dont know whats the lyrics about, even though it be will good, I dont need to know because I like it.... when you say something like that, when she is indeed Tibetan is kind of racist...
oops sorry for saying everyones ignorance, i mean most of them are, because majority of american world history class covers only america and europe, and hardly or ever go in asia. So people dont know nothing about it, in fact most western people dont know how to find a reliable source to get their information, even my retarded high school teacher in america is brainwashed by CNN, i feel sorry for that guy that i dont even want to comment at him because i would put that poor teacher to shame
because some dumbass anti china or some retarded pro tibet independence retarded white western fuckers have nothing good to do buch talk shit like this in every video clip.
Hey, I'm white and Western! Don't diss people you know nothing about, you moron! Some white people are very sensitive and actually care about other cultures, so you should be considerate in return.
sorry we chinese only treat others how they treat us, western fools start this first. Its a fact that many westerners look down on chinese, dont tell me they dont because i grew up in the west, came here when i was 6, i saw every racism you could imagine, experience it throughout my life, so i know what kind of country america is or some of those other western countries could be just the same. In education in America 99 percent of history class does not cover asia, so everyones ignorance.
I am only against the people who are ignorance, because their the one that make me laugh so hard, a example would be a video clip about a california old man who protest for TIBET FREEDOM, a reporter ask him where is tibet, he said that it doesnt matter where tibet is, what matter is what is going on their. That statement of his make me laugh so hard! WHY? because how the hell can he find out whats going on in tibet if he doesnt even know where it is located in the first place? funny isnt it?
and i am very sorry if i offended you in any way, as i dont intend to do such things to people, sometime i am just pissed thats why those nasty stuff coming out of my mouth. I would like to say sorry if i made you mad, i hope you could forgive me.
OK. Just remember that not all Americans are the same, just like any other group of people. The media tries it's best to make us look bad. A bunch of Western reporters don't know what they're talking about when it comes to China. The coverage of the Olympics last year was particularly annoying for that reason, as the commentators knew little to nothing about the culture.
I, however, am actually studying Mandarin Chinese as a third language, keep a globe next to my bed, listen to songs in Mandarin, etc. I try to stay out of the politics and worry more about people as individuals. Some people make the Chinese out to look bad, but mostly because they don't like the politics. I can understand why the Chinese would be angry at the Americans who try to make them look bad, but not all of us are like that.
i love china more than anything and have been there and plan on going back. but i know genocidal activities when i see genocidal activities. just because the world opposes the US invasion of Iraq doesn't mean they hate US culture/people; they simply oppose evil acts. likewise, i oppose the rape of both Tibet & East Turkestan that is/was clearly an act of ethnonationalist imperialism. but hey who cares now right? china was successfully replaced the indigenous population, so it's too late now.
pretty much close to Northern Himalayas of Nepal...i m so sad that none talks about Himalays of Nepal:( Himalays of Nepal have always been underrated.. actually Nepalese are the richest of cultures than any country of the world I think..
China is a beautiful united country full of many nationalist like US. I notice china has more beauties in landscapes and people. The country is growing and begin polluting its lands with factories and toxic chemicals. I descendent from there so one will vist great great ancestors homeland somehow. Really admire the different beautiful cultures there.
blipbaii, trust me ny friend, those people are so dumb that they never been to any outside country and knows nothing about cultures and beauties in other countries. Most of them work, sleep and shit everyday with a dirty big mouth. Don't get offended, not worth it!
"Real China" is behind the Great Wall. The rest if occupied territory.
This song is a Chinese theft of Tibetan music, dress and culture. China has its own so it should not steal from Tibet.
Tibet has been independent for thousands of years. The Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo invaded the Chinese capital Xi'an and got a present from the Chinese Emperor to make peace - his daughter Wen Cheng.
Tibet was occupied by the Evil Middle Kingdom (China) in 1950.
Beautiful Himalaya, Tibetans are always will be part of the greater China. We all one big family. Work together to build our dream nation in harmony and prosper into the next century. This is the time to show the world that united we all stand that is One China.
very nice video. I´m leaving Czechia for China nowadays and looking forward very much. Their culture is exceptionally amazing. One great pitty is Tibet not free as this country deserves. PEACE
I love the music video and yes, Tibetans have such a beautiful yet mysterious culture which made them so unique. Don't destroy their cultural identity.
songs meaning is encourage Tibetans to "leave Himalaya" backwardness of old tibet and join modern society. For ex. take bath daily, go to school, get real job instead of being lazy monk. Well that's my interpretation anyway...

Did you honestly ask every Tibetant in States if they like to herd the sheeps all life long? Abandon all modern aspects? No one would say yes. My point is to evolve with time, merging new concepts & ideas to the old thus make it bigger & stronger.
Stevie924011 1 year ago
@Stevie924011 I agree with you completely. I am of Han ethnic, and I do not agree the ways of han should always reach out to others. I think Tibetans should stand up and get out to influence people, to teach them the customs and languages of Tibet. Be strong! brothers and sisters of Tibet!
OoBlessedSouloO 1 year ago

Tibetan was influenced by both Chinese languages and Indic languages but Indic side has more influence.
iloathelilyallen 2 years ago
Tibetan language and Chinese languages are from the same ancestor. And all of them belong to Sino-Tibetan language family in study.
dahanzimin 2 years ago

So Tibetan language is different from Indian language.

read tibetan script amd hindi and you understand where tibetan language come from , don't read what your slave master told you to read.

@dahanzimin Tibetan has more similarities with indian languages than any chinese or pretty much any other asian language
myfreetibet 2 years ago
@myfreetibet

We are all Chinese genetically.
dahanzimin 2 years ago 2
Han Chinese and Tibetan Chinese are actually the same race. They were seperated 5000 years ago.
dahanzimin 2 years ago
I agree, also all of mankind is indeed the same race. Separated some 10,000 years ago.

Tibet is part of China for more than 700 years, starting from Chinese Yuan Dynasty
dahanzimin 2 years ago

All the politics aside, this is a typical modern Chinese "tableau" music video. They tend to be visually very pretty, and feature lots of camera choreography and creative editing. This particular one might have been better if a "mingzuren", or native speaker/singer from Tibet had been chosen. Even De De Ma 德德马, who is not from this region, but has a powerful Chinese "wild west" style of singing, would have been a better choice for the vocal.
jevalles 2 years ago
You got it all wrong. The singer is a 100% Tibetan, she's bilingual and she sings in Mandarin here.
Either you like her vocal, or you don't. Music should be judged by its own merit. Her ethnicity shouldn't really matter.
YallMeanMVP 2 years ago 3
Then let's have Snoop Doggy Dog do the vocal, or a duet with Placido Domingo and Yma Sumac. Their ethnicity shouldn't really matter.

oops sorry for saying everyones ignorance, i mean most of them are, because majority of american world history class covers only america and europe, and hardly or ever go in asia. sorry we chinese only treat others how they treat us, western fools start this first. Its a fact that many westerners look down on chinese, dont tell me they dont because i grew up in the west, came here when i was 6, i saw every racism you could imagine, experience it throughout my life, so i know what kind of country america is or some of those other western countries could be just the same. In education in America 99 percent of history class does not cover asia, so everyones ignorance.
blipbaii 2 years ago
I am only against the people who are ignorance, because their the one that make me laugh so hard, a example would be a video clip about a california old man who protest for TIBET FREEDOM, a reporter ask him where is tibet, he said that it doesnt matter where tibet is, what matter is what is going on their. That statement of his make me laugh so hard! WHY? because how the hell can he find out whats going on in tibet if he doesnt even know where it is located in the first place? funny isnt it?
blipbaii 2 years ago 3
and i am very sorry if i offended you in any way, as i dont intend to do such things to people, sometime i am just pissed thats why those nasty stuff coming out of my mouth. I would like to say sorry if i made you mad, i hope you could forgive me.
blipbaii 2 years ago
OK. Just remember that not all Americans are the same, just like any other group of people. The media tries it's best to make us look bad. A bunch of Western reporters don't know what they're talking about when it comes to China. The coverage of the Olympics last year was particularly annoying for that reason, as the commentators knew little to nothing about the culture.
hobielover 2 years ago 3

I'm a big fan of Li Na, Han Hong, they've angelic voices.
Tibet will always be an integral part of China. And Tibetans will be forming the geat China nation, like the other 55 ethnicities.
Of course those disapproving Tibetans may choose to go away to the West or any other part that are willing to accept them!
All thoughts & efforts to separate Tibet from China is simply an illusion. Resistance is futile!
