You say the US was opposed to the League of Nations, as if it were the entire country. However, President Woodrow Wilson, recognized as one of the smartest presidents ever, was an ardent supporter, he did create it after all. Rather, the Senate DID not support it, as they recognized Europe was still a HUGE mess, and did not want to get the US involved. Without any order, Europe fell into deeper and deeper turmoil, until, alas, Hitler emerged, and the US was forced to intervene.

The united nations put sanctions on Germany following WW1, so hitler put the german people to work and brought hope to the people, they all worked for the government then, building war machinery. our government along with the UN, is currently putting sanctions on countries, more than half of our population is working for the government, we are living on borrowed time and down to our last dime. after listening to Ron Paul I find myself asking myself more questions like "How did we ever end up anywhere near the middle east anyways?" The earliest American action I know of in the middle east was Iran Contra when we overthrew their government and installed the Shaw.
