why does he go on about clockwise and counter clockwise, there is NOT "2 ways" to set a lock, its always the same way, turn a deadbolt towards the bolt to lock it and away from the bolt to open it, what a weirdo, does he not realize they're set on opposites of the wood? its the same way but its mirrored cause its on the other side?!
@RaySulz I'm glad you understand without needing a demonstration, but there are a lot of people that can benefit from this instruction. If you pick your house locks for practice you can actually wear down the pins and there's potential for causing damage to the springs. ~ Bryan
@tonyacehawk Nothin' wrong with a somewhat universal key. I don't want your stuff, I just want to get into my house or my car if I lock myself out. Also, learning how to do it is the best way to learn how to defend against it.

@formatC2 Absolutely! Kwikset's are great to learn on, especially deadbolt sets like these where you can remove pins. Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the video! ~ Bryan

Cool Video, but you don't need a countersync, you can use a larger drill bit that is slightly larger then the screw head!

simple, turn it away from the frame, duh! and just train on your house locks, why buy and make stuff? that way you can get use to the real thing.

Thanks... Not that it matters, but the wood you used is in the store as a 2x10.

Why would you want to pick a lock? Are you a locksmith? I think locksmith tools are illegal to posses unless you are a locksmith.

Nice job....just a side note most locks pick to the lock position easier then use a plug spinner.
