You should really get a stand or at least something head level to rest your music on. That posture doesn't nothing for you or your playing and if you're stood up you'll find you play much louder, clearer and better!^^ I've been playing the flute for a long time so if you need any tips please give me a bell!
I played a flute for two years gave up though after having an evil teacher, a few notes off ket there but i know its hard at first keep tryin!!
