Bill is exactly right in this case. The fact is, if the mayor wasn't a racist and broke the law by not deporting the illegal alien, he would not have been there to commit the crime. Think about it: if the law was actually followed in the first place, none of this would have happened. His point is that if the authorities had done their job, this particular drunk driver would not have been in the USA to have been the drunk driver in this instance. A law doesn't necessarily have to to protect someone from 'hurt' or loss. It can simply be a policy to bring about order. They is no argument for any illegal living in this country to do wrong. Not for the initial offence of being here without permission, or anything that follows. This is about respecting our authority, and our right to govern and decide. The issue is: do they have the right to superceede it? I don't believe they do.

Agree with the last part. The only way to solve this immensely destructive problem is to hit the landlords and employers HARD. Jail time hard. No job = no reason to break our immigration laws. Mexico can be a great power if instead of leaving it, the workers revolt to get rid of the corruption.

The fact that anyone backs Geraldo in this case shows what an upside down world we are currently living in. This illegal alien should have been deported when first arrested, be it for a misdemeanor or felony. They already broke the law by sneaking in, let's not forget. I used to hate O'Reilly, but more and more he is making great points. A drunken illegal just killed one of my favorite directors here in Pacific Palisade the other day, and it is happening every single day.

Um... legality changes, we can't just blindly draw the line at the same place where the law stops. It wasn't that long ago that Asian immigration was completely banned because they were of an inferior race.
