  • I photographed THin Lizzy in 1977 when they opened for Queen in Canada. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • a big kunt

    \]

  • @Grumberf I end up nursing a semi every time I listen to 'Lizzy! Lol

  • anyone else get ''Bass Horny'' at 3.50 I can't handel my self hearing that bass groove

  • forever!!!

  • The coolest thing of 'em all is that Scott Gorham really emproved every time TL changed the second guitarist... He was good in the beginning, he became pretty cooler and more confident with Robbo and with Gary Moore (and John Sykes later) he became even better!

Just a proof of his love for music.

  • lizzy was lizzy they roked it no matter what

  • i thought most forgot snowy white, what a band huh broke all kinds of barries, even matallica does the cover whiskey in the jaro but we know who wrote it

  • i thought most forgot snowy white, what a band huh broke all kinds of barries, even matallica does the cover whiskey in the jaro

  • Brian robertson, snowy white and john sykes dislike this.

  • That is Scott Gorham on guitar in his white shirt!!!! That's not Snowy White at all, he doesnot even look like him,,,

  • This song's guitar solo is just fantastic.

  • hey boys, close your eyes and you can hear it. listen to the guitars...... no doubt gary moore and scott gorham. snowy white is not in sight. believe in me.

  • hey boys, close your eyes and you can hear it. listen to the guitars...... no doubt gary moore and scott gorham. snowy white is not in sight. believe in me.

  • It's Snowy on lead guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snowy In white shirt, Gary Moore in grey jacket.

  • @celticj32 Its SCOTT GORHAM...

  • It's Snowy on lead guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snowy In white shirt, Gary Moore in grey jacket.

  • It's Snowy on lead guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gary and Phil probably jamming their asses off now

  • Definately Gary Moore, not Snowy White on guitar. Drummer Mark Nauseef.

  • Not exactly sure who the drummer is (it's a filler for Brian Downey, and scuttlebutt is that he came from Gary Moore's band, but still not sure of his name), but this dude rocks almost as hard as Brian.

  • It makes me Laugh what some people write . ROCK ON !!!!

  • i didnt like this one sorry

  • it doesnt get any better than this..man i wish i had been there...RIP Gary and Philo

  • I think this is a 'Snowy white' time in lizzy.. scotty doing a good job of it of cause..

Come to think of it? havent heard anything from Snowy for a very long time?

    Where is he??

  • @kingdom777866 I don't know if that's Snowy... I could be wrong, but I always heard that it's Gary Moore, and the time period (1978, during recording of "Black Rose") fits with the time that Moore had re-joined Thin Lizzy. I don't think Snowy was part of the fold - officially - until 1980 at the earliest.

Rumor has it that the drummer is a stand-in for Brian Downey, and that this substitute was a member of Moore's band. Which would be another reason that other guitarist is probably Moore.

  • THIN LIZZY with Gary Moore = the BEST THIN LIZZY !

    RIP Gary ...

    We miss you !

  • @JAMESBOND333ful You should know that Gary Moore was only a couple of years in TL. Scott Gorham is the guitarplayer that was the most loyal to Phil Lynott and to TL. You do him no justice if you deminish his influence in the band. He was in TL from 1974 till 1983 when Lizzy split up. They came back together in 1996 and he was in it again, until now. He plays on so many great Lizzy albums, Doesnot mean that Gary was not a superb guitarplayer, he played on a lot of albums too.

  • Gary Moore RIP. The world has lost a serious talent.

  • Gary..R.I.P.... With love...

  • I was at this concert - pretty funny how the 2SM logo on front of stage was for the radio station that promoted the concert (it was free by the way), and 2SM was a radio station owned by the Catholic Church in Sydney!! I remember someone threw an apple at the stage, it sailed over Phil's head and landed at the back and suddenly all the sound went dead! It took a while to get sound back up and Phil kept the crowd entertained doing soccer tricks with apple - no shit.

  • RIP gary moore the Belfast bluesman will always be remembered

  • RIP Gary

  • Baddass!! Drummss!!

  • Like this if your IRISH!!!!!!!

  • awesome...

  • Now these guys were "ROCKERS", not like what is posing as that today. Damn, Rocks heyday, the seventies

  • 1:19 is that a 9 year old kid rockin to thin lizzy....badass

  • gary moore looks so awesome/badass in this, i want that jacket.

  • A *Simply Outstanding* Performance & yupp the sound is not the best .. But THIN LIZZY Live Is Always worth it's weight in Gold!

  • the performance is amazing! it's the recording that isn't that great...

  • thanks dimebag62, for all the Sydney tracks, a great set

  • Bad performance my ass like to see u do better.

  • i love them so! ^__^

  • bad performance

  • @TaroGabunia the song was still a demo there.

  • The crowd is massive! If I was around in 78 I would have been there.

  • Why did they remove the last part (the "blow by blow he watches his lady go etc, etc") from the Black Rose version? It kicks fucking ass! Great video btw ;)

  • vagabonds of the western world

  • @tomosoos Black Rose: A Rock Legend and Bad Reputation

  • Awesome!

  • shit aussies

  • Who's behind the kit for this show? Definitely not Downey.

  • Gary Moore

  • Sorry.Mark Nauseef tour stand in

  • did u know midge ure played with tl for about 12 months

  • Is that Gary Moore there?

  • Yes, fella.

  • Wow this is an incredible performance. Great song too.

And in all fairness to the audience, Black Rose wasn't out yet so they didn't know this song, and it's difficult for an audience to get into a new song.

  • Thin Lizzy are one of the all time greats.

  • did they release black rose earlier overseas or did they just want to play this jam early, i though tht record hit the streets in 79

  • what a fucking pathetic audience..

  • I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU.

  • haha, I'm australian man and if i was there, I'd go off my nuts.

  • So would I, I was born 20 years too late to see the great Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy live.

  • hahahahaha

  • @NewYankee01 You didn't see Gary Moore going apeshit hopping around and pulling faces???

  • thin lizy sounds the best live

  • Epic Fro

  • Favorite THin Lizzy song...

  • is that Moore on guitar?

  • Yeah thats moore ! do you know who the drummer i only realised Downey isnt there ?

  • According to Wikipedia, its Mark Nauseef on drums

  • Ohh really never heard of him !!

  • Ya, me neither, til i just looked him up. lol

  • He was (is?) jazz rock drummer who played in The Ian Gillan Band!

  • haha thats random but awesome!!

  • It's definately Mark Nauseef. He played on Phil's Solo In Soho album and with Moore in G Force in early 80s.. wondered what happened to him..

  • ah the days of real, decent rock music. How I wish I were alive for them

  • Saw them in The RDS Dublin in April 1983 with John Sykes - GREAT! You would have loved it!

  • they were gods!

  • who the heck is that on drums?

  • Mark Nauseef

  • i love the solo in this xD

  • in 0:10 you can see my mum in the crowd as she puts the camera to her face.

She still has the pics of this concert and she showed them to me.

  • How lucky she was ..and so you are for the pics.

  • @poopzoid111

  • @poopzoid111 Moms who dig Thin Lizzy rock!

  • @poopzoid111 cool, your mom looks nice back then

  • @poopzoid111 your so lucky ! post them on flicker or something !

  • Wow, what a great clip! Wish I'd come along ten years earlier to see these guys in their prime!

  • This is the best concert they ever recorded in my opinion.

  • what the fuck, I just get a thumbs down for writing my opinion.

  • You'll get a thumbs down for writing just about anything here on YouTube. Don't take it personally.

  • true enough. There is alot of assholes out there like that.

  • @SoldierofFortune07 its almost as if someone disagreed with your opinion

  • @SoldierofFortune07 It just means people disagree mate, nothing personal :L

  • awesome stuff!!!! Black rose is a helluva album.

Corridors of Power great solo album by Gary Moore.

  • ye, my mistake

  • amazing, i saw them last year at newcastle, they were great, but it's not the same without phil lynard

  • Yea, but Phil Lynott was even better than Phil Lynard you must agree.

  • ahaaaaaaa

  • Nostalgia big time..:-)

  • brliiant!

  • fan-fucking-tastic :)

  • i think brian was either ill or his wife was sproggin, but youd know he wasnt around!!

  • Brians son was sick

  • Thanks for posting - this is my favorite band for 30 years...

Why not Brian Downey on drums?

  • Aguably the MOST UNDERRATED & UNSUNG R&R BAND! AMAZING!

  • Nice boobs!

  • Wish I'd seen Lizzy on this tour. Phil is awesome as ever. Seen them on the Renegade Tour and guess what? Still awesome. I'm one of the lucky ones. Wish he was still out there xx

  • I saw Gary Moore in 2006, at the St Pölten lovely festival in Austria, ..for me the best guitar player I've ever seen live ...the same as Pete Townshend of The Who

  • Now thanks to mr. Dimebag 62 i,m not working for another hour.Too bad Gary only recorded one album with Thin Lizzy.

  • Actually, Gary also recorded parts of 'Nightlife', and he's on 'Life Live', of course.

  • BRIAN DOWNEY Plays whit Gary Moore now!!! Great

  • Gary Moore and Phil Lynott!!!!

    Awesome

  • rip Phil we miss you

  • good job

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO BRIAN DOWNEY ?

  • He was taking a break from touring at this time.

  • his dad died and was at his funeral

  • Drummer fucked the song up the changes in the beat sound shit

  • Yeah, its hard maybe impossible to be behind the drums in Lizzy, cause of Mr. Brian Downey. This DVD would rock, but the sound and picture arent good. But they still make a hell of a hob here!!!

  • This band is what music is about. plain and simple. They have the talent, not studio crafted talent.

  • i was into punk in 78 -79 but i loved thin lizzy ,and still do

  • I really like Scott Gorhams playing and I really like his Les Paul at this concert but somehow i miss his Deluxe.

  • He is my favorite guitarist form that Thin Lizzy had. His Les Paul at this gig is beautiful

  • thats a burst! forget about that cheap deluxe garbage gibson 70s guitar! thats a 1959 flAMETOP AND GARYS PLAYING HIS PETER GREEN BURST!

  • whats the name of that song that they start to play at the end ?

  • It's called "Are You Ready?"

  • Yea, one of my favorites, they rock, awsom!!!

  • one of my favorite songs, I like every version of this, especially the one on LiveLife from '83 with John Sykes - it rocks!

  • If you ever get a chance to see Limehouse lizzy live go, they do Lizzy a great justice... glad they do as i was another one who was born way to late :( x

  • Where was Brian Downey? He wasn't there :S

  • I think Brian Downey left the band for a short time to solve personal problems.

  • lol thats what i say

  • this song is on black rose but that came out in 1979

  • Oh God, this brings back memories. I was there in that crowd as well. I loved this band and saw them every time they came out.

  • You are so lucky. Some day I hope to hop in a time machine and see all these great bands that are no more. I was born 20 years too late!

  • Me too!! Born in '78 and I love this so much!!

  • I was actually at this gig. Was it really 30 years ago? Where's the time gone?

  • you know, i've all these video's,but someone else has posted them already. it's good. so i know i'm not the only one who regonize what good music is. thanks for sharing.

  • why are bass players such good singers,an answer please ASAP.

  • because they have the right feeling for rythm and they know which melodies sound right :)

  • And also they eat a lot of vegetables!

  • gary moore is the one in the silver jacket man!!

    the guitar god himself

the other dude isnt bad neither!!

  • which one's gary moore?

  • these guy kill any band now days.

  • scott gorham best guitarist ever

  • That solo kills me each time. I've always loved Scott's playing. Power and passion.

  • Yea man, Scotts amazing, and Gary (this concert). Prolly better than the Young brothers from AC/DC in rhythm, lead playing, and that is saying a helluva lot. BEST BAND EVER!!!

  • suck a great song!!!

  • yeah.. the one with dark hair

  • I'm not sure but one of the guitarists is Gary Moore. Is this true?

  • Yup That's him.

Scott Gorham is the other one.

  • Is this just me, or does their guitars sound really distorted...

    Oh well, IT ROCKS!

  • is this the show that ended up as the back picture of Gary's "Back on the Streets"?

  • Was that in 1978? But that song didn't come out until 1979... or?

  • isnt this in 79?

  • Anyone knows who is the drummer here? It definitely does not seem to be Brian Downey. Thanks

  • The drummer is Mark Nausef. He's replacing Downey who suffered from injuries from a fight a couple of days earlier (so I've heard...)

  • Thanks for the information!

  • these guys did drugs all day everyday ( except scott gruham ) so you can excuse them be playing a touch slowwer.... also no live performances are perfect :D

  • Gorham almost did as many drugs as Phil...the only difference is that Gorham was able to break his habit and Phil didn't.
