Here's what I think he was trying to get them to see.
To fully embrace their roles as part of the war they had to be willing to die the death of those who's names are not remembered. They had to be willing to do it because it was right, not because it would grant them great fame or glory. He had to strip Delenn of her titles because people can remember her by them, they had to be willing to die when nobody would remember them.
I love how in the end Delenn's spirituality shines through "this body is only a shell, you cannot touch me, you cannot harm me, I'm not afraid". Brilliant scene from a brilliant show, thanks for posting it.
Wayne alexander was also Kosh. At least he wore the suit and did the voices for him. They gave him the roles of Inquisitor and Lorein so he could actually get some face time. :)
@bluntman1138 He had nothing to do with Kosh. Ardwright Chamberlain is the name that appears in the credits for Kosh, and that was his voice and Jeffrey Willerth was the man inside the suit.
@arwynt he plays a Narn in 'And The Rock Cried Out No Hiding Place' he also plays the Drazi that's working to break Sheridan in 'Intersections in Real Time' and the Drakh in 'The Fall of Centauri Prime'
"This is my cause, life! one life or a bilion it's all the same"
I just watched this episode again tonight, I'd say that the B5 writers deserved an award..but then they already got one, more than one! didn't they. Truly amazing viewing, each & every episode!....Jon.
well a lot of the ambassadors for the non aligned worlds were played by the same actors. It was what they would call repertory theatre. it is cool the same actor was sued for sebastien and lorien. It seemed they were both teachers, in their own ways.
John 15:13 , no greater sacrifice of love, than to lay down your life for another...this is a great scene from a great movie.

Does anyone know that the inquisitor is the same actor as lorien. Just listen to the voice
sammyatlantis 3 years ago
Yes it is, he's also Lorien! His name is Wayne Alexander and I think he also played a Narn at some point. :)

The next quote is the best.
"How do you know the Chosen Ones?
No greater love hath a man - than he lay his life down for his brother.
Not for millions, not for glory, not for fame - for one person, in the dark. Where no one will ever know, or see..."

there is a clip with that wonderful piece of dialog somewhere else in youtube, that's why I didn't include it as well. :)

I know, but the audio is bad. Plus the scene works well in one fluid sequence.
Also, no one has the "only remembered, as Jack" part of the episode.
This, along with Gethsemane, have some of the most profound lines in the show.

"Only remembered as Jack" appears in a dozen or more youtube videos on Babylon 5.

Sheridan gets off so easily in this, while Delenn rocks!

well this was a trial/test of Delenn, not Sheridan. He gets his test when he goes to z'hadoum

With the same actor who played Sebastian playing Lorien, by the way!
JMS had a weird sense of humor that way.
He loved to recycle actors.
