  • hmmm i bought the 2.5. Since i just started grip strength training and I'm only 17 I think I bit off more then I can chew hahaha. I didnt realize it was so difficult good thing i didnt try the 4

  • I can vouch that this is hard as shit.

  • Where can i buy it? (the #2)

  • @AxlColeman ironmind dot com

  • No one is closing the 3# are 4# without steroids are hgh!

  • I can close the number 2 195 pound gripper

  • its easy that way you're taking breaks in between... i can do 10 in a row on right hand one after another and 8 on my left but that is without rest in between

  • I bought CoC #1.5 9 days ago and first day I was like 2-2,5 cm from closing it and today I was 3-4 mm from full close. It's my first gripper and if u are intrested, this is how i train: cheap gripper 30-40 lbs x10 reps x2 and then 1.5 x3 sets x3 reps and as I told u I can't close it so I sqeeze it as far as I can and then I press the rest againt my leg and do slow negatives. Work for me I guess:)

  • no nonsense clean video. unlike the 90% of muppets on youtube who cant even close a trainer pretending to close a 2 or 3.

  • Very Impressive. I cannot close the #2 even once and I've been at it for two months

  • OMG!!! that is some serious grip strength

  • only a handful of people can do # 4

  • guess how many reps i can do........ ONE!!! lol. awesome man. you must be at least close to closing a no.3 then?

  • is the number 1 hard for a beginner?

  • @MrNickOnUTube most guys that have been working out in a gym for a long time cant close the #1 gripper...! The #2 is considered a very good grip. The #3 is considered a world class grip...!

  • Do you have any tip on how to progress? (from T -> Nr 1)

I can close number 1 with my right hand, but only 1-3 times. The problem is that i don`t seem to get any further... I can close the "Trainer" (T) about 15 times, but the gap between T and 1 is so big :(

Should i continue closing T more often or focus on closing number 1?

  • @kenichisan88 warm up with a lesser gripper than the trainer, like a store bought one (like 15 reps X2 each hand). Squeeze the trainer once in each hand to get some more blood in the hand, then do a set of around 8 with each hand. Squeeze the #1 once in each hand, rest a couple of minutes and do one working set of as many #1 reps you can squeeze out. Rest a couple of min and do 2 over crushes in each hand which are when you close the gripper shut and keep squeezing harder for around 5 second

  • @kenichisan88 if you haven't already then it's worth getting the Ironmind book from their website on how to close the grippers. the info is as good as the grippers themselves, it'll keep you going for a while.

  • if that is a #2 thats pretty good

  • impressive! my hands usually sweat as well so the fact you dont even reset the gripper is astounding, nice work!

  • lol i didn't even know there were different numbers of these grippers. I used to use one everyday back in junior high and could do like up to 25 reps i thought that's as strong as they come. I need to upgrade haha

  • @barageta Here are the different gripper sizes. Store Bought: 30-40 lbs, Guide: 60 lbs, Sport: 80 lbs, Trainer: 100 lbs, #1: 140 lbs, #2: 195 lbs, #3: 280 lbs, #4: 365 lbs.

  • damn. I cant even close the #1 yet, but im only a few mm away

  • i bought the no. 2 a lil while ago and have been worken with it for about 3 months and im up to about 18 reps with each hand. do u think im ready for the no.3?

  • @czoraa21 - dude if you can do 18 reps go for it. Just skip the 2.5, u prob strong enough already.

  • thanks dude i think i will

  • Those are the cleanest reps I've seen. Nice work.

  • are you able crushing apple with hand?

  • Nice work, 14 reps whit no set is very good. You should show the grippers nr so we can se but I belive you, you look real, anyway, how far can you reach on the coc-scale, almost 3 maybe (?) ...

  • Strong work, I like that you are doing full range reps, no set.

  • Coc #2 about roughly the same as an HG 250?

  • I am 17 and I can do 6 with R hand and 5 with L hand the way you did them with the #2. You have amazing grip, can you close the #3? I am wanting to certify on the #3 because I heard about Jesse Marunde and how Ironmind will donate $500 to his children for every teenager who they certify on the #3 and #4. Also, I wreslte and the grip strength that I have has given me the "upper hand" (pun intended)

  • @skavin10 Good luck on closing the #3!! It would be awesome and awesome to help out the Jesse Marunde fund.

  • Wow, you make it look easy. I can only do 4 slower reps (one left hand). I like the confident technique how you extend the pinky then add it once started the close and how you release quickly without losing positioning for the next rep.

  • what grip number i the strongest

  • 4 i think about 360 pounds of pressure need

  • thanks bra

  • Strong! Well done!

  • just got mine 2day, no where near to closing it! well done

  • good arms and nice grip strength

  • well done buddy

  • 14 reps on the #2 is awesome!

  • jus got the no.2, can only squeeze jus closer than parallel but after one session it had torn my fingers to shreds which is rather annoying. now i have to have time to heal or else i come up with sumthin else.....any suggestions?

  • Are you using chalk powder? If you are, then make sure your grip positioning is correct (watch tutorials for positioning). If your doing that alright then just keep going. Your skin will adapt.

I'm working on #2 myself, just a couple mils from it ;)

  • Oh nevermind, I actually just closed #2 :D first time

  • Same here! :D

  • i wasn't using chalk before but im sure i've got a chalkball kicking around somewhere.....thanks for the heads up man ill give it a try....

  • Very good, I can only close the 1.5 10 times..ill have to buy the #2 soon, You should show that it actually is a #2 by holding it to the camera or you gonna get doubters.

And I doubt that 1 in 100 average people can FULLY close a #2 first try it's 197 pds of pressure...go grab a scale youll be lucky to squeeze that or much more with with 2 hands!

  • Squeezing a bathroom scale doesn't equate to a gripper, probably due to the larger size of a scale. With two hands I can get 235 lbs on a bathroom scale, but I've closed the #2 for 23 reps.

  • I have the number 2 and that's pretty freakin impressive...I can barely do one!

  • u really closed a number 2 on your first try in 1995 but you still havent worked up to a 3 in 13 years? The number of people who can close a #2 on their first try must be very rare or "only in america" as don king says

  • i just got number 1 and 2 in the mail, I can close #2 with my right hand... I think more people could do it than you might think.

  • awesome grip dude. I'm still trying to get it like 5 or more times. how do you train as far as reps and frequency?

  • Nice, I think my best is 10 or 12... Unsure.. I can now close #2.5, but I still am not consistent. I have on and off days... I think by sept Ill be able to do it all the time..

  • you made that look easy

  • most ppl watching this vid have no idea how hard that really is...try it!

    well done

  • I just got my trainer.

    Holy shit.

  • NoMoSpam I'd like to see you try this, little man

  • Comment removed

  • I'm looking down my pants and all I see is you choking on my pole

  • why am i getting negative comments,i'm telling you the truth just keep doing this and you will find out the hard way,it's not good for your hands,i know at one time i was a 650lb bencher and i am 42 years old and paying the price for in now that i'm older, its not worth it.

  • @andielynnx0x are dumbbells safer for bench press?

  • @HoustonKJ yes if you are alone while doing it. You can let go of the weight if you get into trouble..

  • doing this is going to give you arthritis in you hands when you get older son.

  • Awesome!

  • looks easy hehe

  • what does this work out? I thought it was just for occasionally doing when you're on a road trip for fun..

  • Your hands, wrists and forearms, if you want to have low stronger arms then it's not just for roadtrips for fun.

  • why don't you just do forearm curls at the gym? Seems those are better

  • Forearm curls work your wrist and forearm. Hand Grippers work your wrist, forearm and hand. I could just a easily say "why don't you just use grippers, those are better cause they work you hands, too." Also, it is good to work your muscles out in a variety of different ways...

  • Good job.

  • Great, great closes. My hands are too small to TNS the #2.

  • I just recently purchased the 1.5, I'm not to sure what to expect as I am waiting for it in the mail. What did you start out with

  • When I started training my grip in 1995, they only had the trainer,#1,2,3,4. I just bought the set. I was able to fully close the #2 on my first try but spent most of my on-and-off training over the years on the #1. The #3 is my ultimate goal and I am currently about 3-4mm away which means I still have a ways to go. Just yesterday I was able to fully close the 2.5 for 4 reps so I will probably focus on that one for a while.

  • @warpeha Just wondering, have you been able to close the #3 yet? If so big congrats.

  • This is very strong because these are full range reps!! Absolute proof of a damn solid grip! What about your left?

  • Thanks. Since I was alone the video wasn't great. While all but the 15th and final rep was a full closure, the video doesn't really show this. My left hand used to lag behind the right by only a rep or two but now it is much further off (maybe 5 or 6 full reps with the left). This video also shows the first time I trained the #2 with 5 seconds between reps. I used to just crank them out as fast as I could and my best was 10 reps. I am going to try this way for a while and see what happens.

  • I work out my biceps/triceps/shoulders every three days. Would I have to do breaks with these or could i do them every day?
