  • Sounds good. Lots of improvising, which I don't mind as long as the feel of the music stays to how it is supposed to be. For me, it still felt the way the song should and you were able to add your own creative flair. Awesome sauce, dude.

  • Birth of a hero text? nice :D

  • okay you play good dude but why dont u play it the way it is? its cool to change the groove a bit but i think only really experienced drummers have the right to do it and get it online. cobus for example, not you =/

  • @soypanchevere Only really experienced drummers have the "right" to improvise?

He's just trying to have fun, if he wants to play it in a certain way, he definitely has the right to do so.

  • @soypanchevere that's incredibly ignorant, to put a limit on what you can do...what's even more ignorant is that you think you can IMPOSE a limit on what SOMEBODY ELSE can do...and what do you think youtube's purpose is? so people with money can get more money by putting professional videos up? no. it's so ordinary people can put videos of whatever they want online. you sound like a pompous ass, and you need to stop trolling videos and do something with your life.

  • @picksandstixx i kind of agree with him a bit... not trying to be ignorant... your drum cover was pretty sick but if your gonna cover a song play it the way it should be played... but to be honest yours sounds just like the song so idk what he's all hype about

  • @picksandstixx hahahah dude Chad Szeliga told me himself that Cobus has companies paid so that HIS videos are always first hahaha. this guy needs to piss off hahahah. chad liked your cover...

  • @dwattzdrummer That's crazy, I definitely wasn't expecting a thumbs up from Chad himself at any point in this lifetime haha thanks a bunch man. And this guy doesn't need to "piss off" as much as he needs to grow up and learn to not stifle the creative flow of artists.

  • @soypanchevere : Are you kidding? Every drummer has the right to improvise whenever they see fit. It comes with the talent, which you obviously don't have. Cobus was improvising long before he was well known.

  • @soypanchevere that is probably the stupidest comment I have read on youtube all month. Cobus knows how to over play everything, it really is an art to screw up songs like he does. He endorses dw and thats bull. all he can do is fills that make no sense. I can't stand the hype over him. He ruined I will not bow.... This song is real difficult try playing it yourself first. I can't stand these cobus fanboys here...

  • nice one...i like your setup

  • 2:40

  • SHIT YOUR GOOD!

  • cool!! wish I could play! 5 stars

  • hey whats up dude. great job. im drae, im new and i want to start putting videos on the tube.

what program do u use or whatever. i would greatly appreciate that.

thanks sir. btw your an awesome drummer hints i came to you.

  • PRO X-Celerator Hi-Hats

    for life lol

  • @fabsol199 How good are those hi hats? I was debating on whether i should get those or the xs20 rock hats in the new brilliant finish.

  • nice bre thats what im talking about now thats a setup. and loved the cover

  • Crazy man. Liked the crazy little solos you added. Very nice job.

  • Crazy man. Nice little solos you added. Wish they had thought of that. Very nice job.

  • Amazing cover man, BB's my favorite band of all time as well.

Check out some of my guitar covers, I got a bunch of them

  • hey i was wondering what interface you were using im trying to invest in one and i have no idea which to get im using a crappy mixer that sends everything through as a mono track and it sucks..lol so yeah i also play drums.

  • i use the Tascam US 1641. It's definitely a great interface and it's really easy to understand how to use (hardware wise AND software wise). I run it into garage band and send each mic to a different track. If you're running windows, I suggest adobe audition 3 (i think is the latest) and do the same thing there. If you're using 8 mics, create 8 new tracks, and set each track input to a different mic from channel 1 to 8. Audition is great and I personally like it a lot more than pro tools.

  • so did any software come with the Tascam? and how much was the Tascam lol im kinda on a budget so yeah. I'm using cubase right now and dont really like it that much but yeah

  • the cubase le4 software cd came with it, but you still have to buy the license for the software which is what costs a ton of money, and i also dont like cubase, which is why for the same price i'd get adobe audition ($300). the us 1641 is $400, so altogether, it shouldnt run you TOO too much. it took me about 3 months to save for the us 1641

  • oh holy crap that's a lot of money.. lol but i guess it's worth it right?

  • lol well it's definitely worth it. but it's not nearly as much as if you went with pro tools like most people will tell you to. and as long as you have some semblance of an idea of what you're doing, you can get the same results if not better. you'd also need pro tools specific hardware, and an 8 track will run you at LEAST $1300! it's absurd.

  • yea that confuses me very much...i'm now under the impression that Audition is not technically a CS4 product? why it isn't, i don't know, and i think that's a bad move on Adobe's part

  • It seems that Soundbooth is the "audio" program that comes with CS4. Adobe wierdo's :P

  • Now that I'm awake, it's really stupid that they didn't include it indeed. Master Collection is way too expensive for having it not included in my opinion.

  • hey ryan the interface that you use split the tracks in your DAW?

  • yupp. i just plug it in through USB and add new tracks (i use GarageBand) and i set each track's input to a different mic/instrument channel

  • Do you know if that works for REAPER?

  • i actually tried it and it didn't work out well...garage band/logic studio for macs and adobe audition for windows...but that's just me...people swear by pro tools but i liked "advanced simplicity" of audition

  • what about the cubbase it comes with?

  • it only comes with the cd...you still have to buy the license...le4 is decent but if youre gonna get cubase, get 5...but then it just seems too cluttered...which is why i still stand by audition for windows =)

  • fantastic job i am trying to still figure out the high hat verse part hard to listen to 100% and comprehend it for me great job again

  • yea that was a little tricky but after a few good listens without playin the drums then a few playin along, everything worked out

  • damn dude i wish you lived near me dude cause my band is a big bb cover band and we could use your drum skills

  • This is AH-MAZING!! Ur soo talented, im so glad BMB showed me this vid..I know its a bit hard but can u do a cover of lights out, its my favorite after Far away..BB sure as hell rocked with their new album, they came stronger on the guitar as well and the drums, vocals, of course have always been wonderful..Ben really took my breath away, and so did u!! Great Job!!! <3

  • kick-ass drumset man!!

  • gj man

  • good job

  • Breaking benjamins awesome great over

  • This band is garbage.

  • That's your opinion. What do you think of my drumming?

  • Your drumming's fine, I'm subcribed to you, aren't I? I just really don't like this band. In fact, I really don't like a lot of bands, but that's just me. And I'm curious, why do you like this music?

  • Ha true. I really can't pin-point why I love them but I do. And I've grown up on rock and my tastes have evolved so much and I love all kinds of music. Breaking Benjamin is just so fluid in their music, while still being heavy at times. And the fact that Ben's voice is so great really helps. He's got the perfect voice imho.

  • But again, that's only a little bit of the reason.

  • iron maiden, tool, cannibal corpse, megadeth, slayer, nirvana? i love all of those bands...i actually havent heard of virginti tres or sodom

  • Well, I don't like Cannibal Corpse, but I do like all the other bands, and viginiti trees is a song by Tool. :P Go look up Crystal Mountain by Death, pretty sick.

  • oh haha whoops =X yea that song is pretty sick..i'm diggin' it

  • cus BB is the best band n ben has the best voice, period.

  • Nice ryan very good howd you record the drums?

  • Thank you =) I use the CAD7 Premium Mic Pack, close mic all the drums, and on the bass, I use an additional mic (Electro Voice Cobalt C09). I plug them into a Tascam US-1641, then connect that to my MacBook and use Garage Band. I add compressions up the arse, and tweak the EQs a bit, and there you have it =)

  • What kind of interface do you use? what do you plug all the cables into?

  • The US-1641 is the interface.

  • Awesome to see a cover of this song. Breaking Benjamin is also my favorite band. The new album is great!

  • nice sounds

  • Awesome!

  • awesome

  • cool

  • yay welcome back im going to make some drum covers to my self feel free to watch them soon

  • awesome job
