  • Christ, how many turnovers were in this game?

  • Even for a Bucknut fanatic, that rush at 0:42 is awesome.

  • I remember Von Schamann (sp) waving his hands exhorting the crowd during OSU time out to ice him. The kick made the front of sports illustrated's cover. Great game.

  • this was one of the great games; and what a kick!!!

  • Great matchup by two dominant teams from great Conferences

  • Ray wasn't quite as good as Archie.

  • The big ten teams sure had trouble with that oklahoma wishbone offense in those days

  • cavasq@gmail for contact

  • Send me a VHS copy and I'll send you a DVD copy of this game.... What a great game. This VHS copy cover the whole game or is a game tape where they only shows plays directly from the snaps ??

  • 1:34 Blake Griffin

  • I met the field goals kickers daughter the other day! very nice girl

  • I remember the QB option vs the Wishbone creating a lot of fumbles in this game. I think the OSU QB at the time was Rod Gerald. I was sick after the final field goal.

  • Two great college teams, its a shame that they haven't played each other recently.

  • This is a great Matchup among Super Powers of College Football

  • I live in Ohio and I show this as often as I can to my Ohio State friends. Barry Beats Woody!!! Go SOONERS!!!!!

  • looked like a hell of a game. thanks for posting!

    GO BUCKS!!!

  • It's a fact that there is between 11 & 12 min. of action in 1 NFL game. Just read that article yesterday or the day before.

  • thank you for posting this whoever you are, I was born on this day...my dad made my mom wait till the game was over to go to the hospitol- I was born at 8:52pm ~ technology is amazing

  • I just saw "Harvard Beats Yale 29-29", a great football movie by the way, and this is the miracle game that I remember! The players in the movie described a sort of alternate universe/shift in the space-time continuum thing during the closing seconds of the game and I remember feeling that watching this game. So glad to see it on youtube, but it doesn't really convey the drama all that well. Oh well. Check out Harvard Beats Yale 29-29 at your local video store. It's well worth the $3.

  • Wow! That looked to be SOME football game! Not surprised by the turnovers, though. My dad always told me that the Wishbone offense was a "fumble offense." Sure, against the likes of Kansas and Iowa State it wasn't, but against GOOD teams with FAST, DISCIPLINED players, it was! Plus, those wishbone quarterbacks generally couldn't throw the ball for sh*t, so once their teams fell behind and they felt like they had to pass the ball, they generally were F*CKED. OU was an exception in this game.

  • I wonder what would happen if Ohio St. played the Sooners in thin 2009.

  • i woulda been shittin myself in 1977

  • One of college football's greatest games ever. Both teams went on to New Years Day bowls that year.

  • tons of speed on the field in this game. a bit sloppy w/the turnovers but wow. when there is that much speed in the backfield, all it takes is 1-hesitation/mistake and its 6 pts. I heard though that Rod Gerald (tosu's qb in this game) had a bit of a coke habit . probably took a lot more chances b/c of that. this is not to say tosu's 77 team was full of coke fiends I am sure there was a lot of that back then in cfb.

  • I was in the stadium on that day in 1977 & it was the most excitimg sporting event I had ever seen! I still have the ticket stub for that game. Fantastic!

  • Great Game, 1977, a rare treat, first meeting between superpowers. Is this game on DVD?

  • I don't know if it's available on DVD. I just VHS'd it from a local ABC channel that re-aired it about 4 or 5 years ago.

  • Ohio St. running success should have set up play action pass. But Buckeye coaches not once faked a handoff to Beanie and then throw deep. It worked against UT in 05 and 06 and would have again. Also Pryor's strength is running. Why was he not rolling out and throwing. Just the split second it would take for the linebackers and safeties of UT to go toward him would have given receivers for Buckeyes open space. But for 2nd time in 3 games Buckeye coaches and couple bad calls give inferior UT a win

  • Did anyone notice in one of my posts 3 weeks before the Texas-Ohio St. Fiesta bowl I said Texas would not score more than 24 points? And in other posts in other videos I said Ohio St. needed to throw the ball early and for at least 200 yards to win. I also said if Buckeyes settled for 3 or more field goal attempts they would lose. Tressell has not learned that he needs to take more chances on offense to win big games. 1 bad call-in this game their were at least 2 by refs-can determine close game

  • Texas played their worst game of the year against Ohio State. OSU was lucky!

Pryor is mentally slow, it was obvious in the bowl game.

  • No Texas did not play their worst game of the year, they just played a better defense than they were use to, oh and don't forget Pryor was a true freshman in that game.

  • Texas had almost 500 yards in total offense against OSU. Hahaha

Texas did not play as sharp as in the regular season. A playoff system will change that!

  • Yeh but managed only 24 points, and they didn't get their last td until 16 seconds left, good game for both teams.

  • Texas played against best d they faced last yr. And Buckeye offense awful and still almost won.

  • When there is a playoff system, there will not be a 5 or 6 week layoff.

This will eliminate the associated problems.

Ohio State nor Penn State should even be ranked in the top 25 right now.

  • Holy shit, how many excuses can Ohio State fans make for any game they ever lose?

  • I remember Uve von Schamann leading the Buckeyes in cheering "BLOCK THAT KICK" .. haha.. then winning the game. The Buckeyes even put him on ice a couple of times if I remember correctly. I had just moved to Columbus that year from Oklahoma and I was the only OU fan in a room full of Buckeye fans. OU plays them again in 2010 I believe.

  • Well Oklahoma gets to put up with what Big 10 and Ohio St. has put up with for decades-They have to play an SEC team in their bowl in the SEC team's home state. And OU will be missing 1 of their best players like Ohio St. had to in BCS champ game against Florida 2 yrs. ago. But OU has same layoff as Florida where as in last 2 BCS chap games Ohio St. was off lot longer than their opponent, Buckeyes were rusty. And OU Has time to prepare to replace player< Buckeyes didn't. OU bowls worse than OSU!

  • OU bowls worse than OSU?

Ohio State = 18-20-0 in 38 bowl games with a winning percentage of .474

Oklahoma = 24-16-1 in 41 bowl games with a winning percentage of .598

  • 2 things a lot of people forget about this game. One is that Thomas Lott got hurt in the first half. Neither Dean Blevins nor Jay Jimerson really covered themselves with glory replacing him. The other is that the wind was blowing about 35mph out of the south (from right to left in this video). That (plus all the turnovers) is why almost all the action was at the north end of the field.

  • historic OU !

  • And this year I don't think Big 12 is great, especially their bad pass defenses-every Big 12 game I watched I saw at least 1 play where receiver had nobody within 20 yards of him-horrible coverage. Big 12 again benefitted by other than OU's wins against TCU and Cincy Big 12 did not play any other great non league teams. And remember when Ohio St. beat Cincy last couple yrs. Big 12 wins said that was a weak win. Big 12 also starts league play late. therefore they have more unbeaten teams in OCT.

  • I'll give you this one though, lol. But who is gonna remember these stats from year to year... I mean besides you.

  • And 6 yrs later Ohio St. beat Oklahoma in Norman. Stoops and OU's performance in bowls last 5 yrs worse than Ohio State's but everyone rags on Buckeyes. Remember Big 10 bowl games are all almost home games for their opponents in California, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, etc. And because of bowl tie-ins Big 10 teams have played better teams in their bowls than any other conference-part of reason for Big 10's bad bowl record. Last yr. Big 10 top 3 teams played at LSU, at USC and at Florida- 3 top 10s

  • And the game in question was the one posted, not 6 years later. Focus! :)

  • I know this was the 77 game. I was jokingly saying where was the game Ohio St. beat OU. I think OU's offense will have trouble getting to 28 points against Florida. If OU doesn't get a special teams TD or force a Florida turnover when they are close to scoring I say Florida wins 34-27. OU fans I talked to at DFW today going to game agreed with me that Ohio St. could have had a fairly easy 10-17 point win against UT if Buckeyes would have done what I said-roll out Pryor and/or play action Beanie.

  • Was this a bowl game???

  • No, this was an early non-conference scheduled game from Sept. 1977

  • And Because Big 10 plays better teams from top to bottom in their bowl matchups the last 2 yrs. this inflated perception of Big 12 without Big 12 not really beating anyone great in bowls in last 2 yrs. Kansas beat Va. Tech last year but both were vastly overrated as this year's performance by both programs proved. And Big 12's runner up last year played Arkansas in bowl. Arkansas was only 6th best team in SEC. Big 10 2nd place had to play league champ USC at USC. Texas will not score man than 24

  • How many times did we fumble in this game?

  • This had to set the NCAA record for most turnovers in one game.

  • oh the days of artificial turf!

    (sarcasm inserted)

  • That OU wishbone was freaking incredible! You could watch a play, it looked like there was no gain, then the dust would clear & they had gained five yards! And in the rare times they failed, they had von Schaumann to bail them out. Flippin' awesome.

    J.C. WATTS FOR PRESIDENT!!

  • Former Ohio ST. QB and current Espn analyst Kirk Herbstreit has arranged for some of the top HS football teams from several states to play each other in late August in Ohio, Texas and Florida. He is another person tired of hearing Texans say they have best HS football without rarely playing and never beating top teams from other states. 4 games in Texas Stadium, 4 in Ohio and couple in Florida I think. Top game is top team from Florida playing a top 5 team from Ohio. Top 2 Indiana teams vs. Ohio

  • Boomer Sooner

  • simpson may be dumb, but case in point, she's great looking and gets what she wants. thats texas style domination. is great to be a texan or what? pure perfection. no flaws. greatest football, greatest state, best looking people. no flaws at all. not too mentioning discarding michigan and ohio st. like dogs. beating the luckeyes meant nothing to texas, more like a warm up game for the other imp. games. when they care, the horns cant be beaten. bevo is perfection. all american beef w/horns!!

  • I guess they just don't care 8 times out of 10 when playing the mighty Sooners, huh?

  • take a look at what "first round pix" have meant for that loser school? no titles to speak of, alot of destruction losses in big games, and vague to worthless NFL players. look at what texas produces: ahem: superstar NFL players, wins and championships in BCS games when the chance is rendered. the greatest team ever created. most definitely better NFL players, as if that point hasnt been hammered home already. and by the way, texas will have upwards of 10 NFL first round pix taken next yr

  • yankee transplants are allowed in the great state of texas for one reason, to slave labor. learn of beauty and domination, and tell others. the best thing that could happen is literally marrying a "willing" southern chick, to help breed "out" the northern ugliness, and start a long chain of making the bloodline better looking. big noses and unibrows are unacceptable. im sure texas has enough to spare. few are willing when they see all the good lucking texans, but will do it for society.

  • based on those worthless numbers, the luckeyes have produced more nfl drafted garbage then arguably any other college team?draft equals not success in the nfl. pure garbage is what they churn out.TEXAS produces superstars and elite players, not bench warming chokers that win one title every 40 to 60 years, from a worthless conf.such ugly people, with such bloated and worthless stats, that prove nothing then how worthless they are.ask 100 people where they'd rather live and 100 would choose Texas!!

  • and again, more useless uneventful football garbage, blah blah blah blah blah..texas produces better players in the nfl, presently and historically. a no brainer. better at high profile positions, not worthless bench warmers. VY memories still abound after laying spunk on that disgraceful stadium.he sleepwalked, barely tried, and still won.imagine if hed actually tried? the horns are football. much less even getting into a discussion w/a worthless team that does nothing but lose in bcs games

  • Well Texas neede another poorly coached Buckeye team and the refs to hand them another undeserved win against Ohio St. Like 05 and 06 I guess refs aren't used to seeing Big 12 QB's get hit in their flag football conference games, so when a real team hits them refs call undeserved late hit or helmet to helmet hit-giving UT a score in all 3 games. And when the ref from the other side of the field moved the ball forward after closest ref marked UT short on 4th and 3 that would have sealed OSU win!

  • Jesus Christ do you Buckeye fans ever stop whining? How about your defense choking on the final drive. Refs didn't miss a tackle on the last slant play that Cosby scored on. I'm not a fan of either team but I hate OSU more and more because their fans are the most annoying group of people on this planet.

  • If not for ref from other side of field moving ball forward after closest ref spotted ball short of 1st down on Texas 4th and 3 play in last minute Texas would not have had ball. Ohio St. would have run out clock and defense could not have been burned. I did yell defense up too close B4 Texas last TD and blame Buckeye coaches for not taking chances and letting game be close enough for bad call to help decide it. If you look at my post from 3 weeks ago I said OU + UT have trouble getting 20+.

  • It was a great game and your Buckeyes made a great effort. Bet you tired of playing my Horns, though. We took the series from you, 2-1.

  • For 2 years I have been posting on Youtube and other college football sites that Oklahoma, not the Buckeyes, are the most overrated college football program of last 5-7 yrs. and Saturday's loss to byu reinforces that. Bradford got hurt late in 2nd qtr. and their offense was doing nothing with him in there, except getting penalties. BYU was playing without starting RB and 2 starting OL. UT, OU and Tech all scored 24 or less in bowls last yr. and OU and OK. St. scored less than 24 Sat. Overrated O

  • As for Oklahoma State's win over Georgia time will tell this Georgia team is not one of SEC's best like the SEC teams Ohio St. and the Big 10 have played in the bowls and BCS championship games. Georgia lost their QB, RB, and top WR from last yr-all high NFL draft picks not easily replaced. Georgia will lose at least 2 or 3 more games this year maybe even to lower tier SEC team Arkansas or Tennessee in next month. And high power Big 12 offense needs another bad PF call against Georgia to reach24

  • The Big 12 is not SEC. Oklahoma St. is 1 of top 2 or 3 teams in Big 12 this year while Georgia is projected to be 5th or 6th best team in SEC and that may be to high from what I saw Saturday. When the Big 12's top teams play top SEC teams they lose just as much as Big 10 teams do. The top Big 12 teams beat middle of the pack SEC teams in nonconference games and Cotton Bowl occasionally but when they play 1 of SEC's top 3 Big 12 almost always loses. And UT needed refs and breaks to beat Buckeyes.

  • Another rousing start to the season for the Big Ten. Fun to take the series from you--Something for you to think about for the next few decades. Hook 'em Horns 2. Slowhio Buckeyes, 1.

  • I remember this game and they actually broke away from coverage because OU was in command of the game. Then OSU turned it on and ABC came back to the game late in the third quarter. What a finish! That was back when college football was at its peak. I feel sorry for the kids now growing up seeing the theatrics and bs after every play. The term scholar-athlete isn't relevant anymore. Wonder how well all these SEC teams would fare if they had mandatory testing? Go Bucks

  • And again I was right. IN 2003 last year and this year we heard how OU was those OU teams may be best team or best offense of all time because they ran up score on Big 12 weak defenses. Then K-State destroyed them in 2003 Big 12 championship, W. Virginia destroyed them last year and they only scored 14 against Florida. I'm disappointed in Buckeyes but still think OU deserves as much criticism as Ohio St. for their recent bowl failures. Announcers made excuse OU playing tough teamsin BCS so isOSU

  • The Big Eleven wins the national title in being the sorest losers in the nation!

  • a Southern bread woman from a Northern bread woman= asy to spot. check the noses, skin tone, sast maiden names ending w/vowels vs great all american southern names, unibrows, pale skin, and horrific norther askew accents. nothing sexier then a woman with a southern draw.and the luckeyes changes of beating the trojans are less then there chances of winning the sugar bowl last yr. isnt gonna happen. over/under on wins for the luckeyes should be 7.5.don't let that nose skew u too much from reality.

  • u cant actually count having the sun first when the sun doesnt shine, moron. the beauty of texas is so overwhelming it gives goosebumps to all. to even compare that sespool of disease and filth, is a laugh. that craphole in which the luckeyes (who cant with titles by the way) reside, is one of the most disgusting, and embarrassing places to even consider home. it rankes right up there with north dakota and west virginia. accept those are nicer states. cleaner with less disease. HOOKEM!!

  • oh brother. i cant wait to pick this apart. Those big nosed freaks with unibrows that pollute this great state, are easy to spot. anyone who is blonde and tan by definition, has nothing to do with the north. thats a guarantee. but of course, you moved to my great state, and abondoned that craphole. -the ultimate hypocrite- texas does everything better, including laying waste to that northern loser school in their rustbucket stadium. that yellow thing in the sky, thats the sun. HOOKEM!

  • As bad as Buckeyes offense has looked this year and as good as Texas offense supposedly is I am not worried about Texas running away with this game. For 1 thing this year Buckeyes are off only 5 days longer than Texas B4 their bowl matchup. Rustiness should not hurt OSU as much as it did in last 2 BCS championships. If Buckeyes freshmen QB has any success at all passing-say over 200 yards and a TD or 2 Buckeyes will win 31-21. Remember that except for a late TD and safety UT only scored 18 in 05

  • texas =greatest people in the world. that craphole up north, which is losing population by the minute due to its worthlessness, has the rudest and dumbest humans ever created.lack of sunshine = rudeness. dumbness=rust belt unionized fool.

i cant say enuff how ugly that place is. the sun literally doesnt shine. the air is filled with disease. if your having trouble with the great texans, its your fault, as they can tell your a northern disgrace. likely rude and ugly.yellow thing in sky= sun!

  • I'll check back with you in the fall why you are enjoying another buttkicking at the Cotton Bowl to the Sooners in "The Red River Blowout" and Buckeyes will be at the top of the polls after a resounding victory over USC at the Coliseum in Los Angeles.

  • And 1 last fact for now. Ohio State trails only USC all-time in NFL 1st round picks 71-67. And that's because USC had 4 1st rounders in 08, next year Buckeyes will have at least 2 and maybe as many as 5 or 6 1st round picks. That's 1st round picks not players taken in whole draft. Buckeyes have record or at least they did(they may still have) with 14 Buckeyes drafted in 1 year-2003.

  • Ok I was wrong about USC game. Not having wells affects not only offense but how defense played the game also. Defense didn't take as many chances as they would have. Loss only helped accelerate the Pryor experience and will make him better next year. And if you look at the last 3 years even with the 3 bad losses to USC, LSU, and Florida, Ohio St. is only team in nation who can say they only lost to teams that played in BCS bowls. Actually they can say that last 4 yrs-lost to UT and Penn St in05

  • they only envy i have is of beautiful tanned , women. of which, the great state of texas has plenty. unlike that rust belt craphole. ive never seen so many women (if u can call them that) with unibrows, noses bigger then southern males, and deep voices. ugh. there should be some law that prevents breeding from that place. ask 100 people were theyd rather live and 100 would choose texas. and that big yellow thing in the sky, its called the sun!!! HOOKEM!!!!

  • Why do care about beautiful Texas women, many who have moved here from northern states. Do you fantasize about them while you and Bevo are going at it hot and heavy? Do you pretend Bevo is a hot dumb Texas blonde like Jessica Simpson? She went to school 3 blocks from where I have lived for last 12 yrs. and guys who went to school with her said she really is dumb. But I guess why there continues to be Texas males, there are enough dumb women to breed with you fools!

  • Both Texas and OU will not get out of the 20's in their bowl matchups this year because they will finally face sound defenses. Big 12's other teams like Missouri, Texas Tech and Oklahoma St. should score more because they are playing much weaker teams in their bowls. Again other than OU wins over Cincy and TCU what was best nonconference win for Big 12 in last 2 years? Missouri over Illinois last yr. was OK but Illinois QB injured in 1st. This yr. Illinois didn't make bowl. Arkansas? HAH!

  • the horns and texas are perfection. claiming any victory vs. the mighty colt mccoy, when half of the horns roster was hurt is lame. young fornicating in that rust bucket is all that history will recall. beautiful thing. imagine if young had actually been trying. HOOKEM!!!

  • nada is wrapped up u swooner loser. swoops and his swooners have no shot vs. the horns this yr. dont even bother showing up. and as for the loser yankee, who thinks that disgusting depressed, cold weathered craphole, with people of big noses, tinted glasses and pale skin, what a loser. yet another texas convert. -dump- i think not. you came from a dump, apparantely. how big is your nose? is it blocking your view. ask 100 people where they'd rather live and 100 would choose texas! hookem!

  • I think that about wraps it all up.

I've been obstaining from these moronic postings. If anything, I'm glad as a Sooner fan, that people can see what UT fans are like. They envy everything OU, hence, why their wasting their time on this video. I can't wait to see what OU does to "college football's greatest coach" this season. Bye.

  • I know. I'm going to take a break for a few weeks and enjoy the sun, which Texas also got after Ohio-Ohio a state before Texas, therefore the sun shined Ohio 1st and will shine forever on Buckeyes long after Longhorns join the Baylor's, Rice's, North Texas and Stanford's at the bottom rung of college football teams. Will go to Vince Young and horns' youtube videos to continue my dismantling of the horns and their misguided fans. I bet spellcheck gets a workout on pro-Longhorn websites!

  • What an idiot -- does Southern Plains like talking to himself about Texas, I moved to Texas from Ohio and hate this dump. The people are generally cretins, like Vince Young and Southern Plains who does not realize this is an OU video. Without VY Mack Brown would never have won any championship of any kind at any level. Let's remind ourselves of the 24 - 7 whipping in Austin by the "inferior" Ohio players, it would have been worse if Tressell had not called off the dogs in the 3rd quarter.

  • True. That's one reason fans don't think highly of Ohio St. They see Ohio St. won only31-10 or 28-13 but don't take into account Tressell plays very conservative after getting lead while Stoops, Mack Brown Urban Meyer and others keep starters in longer and run up score against inferior competition. Notice in coaches poll Ohio St. does better, other coaches respect Tressell even though I and other Buckeye fans wish he would pour it on more. This is 3rd straight year both BCS coaches from Ohio.

  • have i mentioned how great the state of texas is! everything is bigger and better!!! hence why it owns you. hookem!

  • oh, and by the way, texas way outproduces the luckeyes (again, as if this lesson werent already taught) in nfl talent. as has been brilliantly noted, texas high profile players have been far superior in the nfl in past and present, not worthless washouts. make no mistake about this one. young will have a superbowl within 3 more years, and several more after that. hows that great luckeye qb group doing? must stink having to watch a wolverine qb dominate the nfl,as the luckeyes hve nada. hookem!

  • the greatest team ever, the greatest college player ever, the greatest mascot ever, the greatest coach ever. does it get any better then texas!! heck no! HOOKEM

  • Speaking of the horns mascot is it true that I heard that there is a love story video with you in it coming out in June? I heard it was going to be called "Bevo and Butthead do each other in Texas". Also heard 1 of the networks coming out with an easier version of TV show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" They are going to call it "Are you smarter than a Longhorn fan?" Which is a resounding yes for 99.8% of the world's population, the .02 percent not smarter than Longhorn fans are Aggies!

  • all the noted texas domination in star talent in the nfl is overwhelming. michigan, now thats the only school worth mentioning up north.shoot, the luckeyes might only be the third most heralded team in that loser cant count conference. michigan leads the way for sure, psu likely 2nd when the old fart hasnt gone senile. yet anyone dare make a comparison to texas? are you nuts? lack of sunshine in early childhood does that to person apparantly. is there anything better then texas! hookem!!

  • i noticed another term used, 'luck out', regarding another luckeyes loss, obviously to texas, who else? excuses, excuses, excuses. blah blah blah. texas takes the night off, and still beats those big nosed, pale skinned losers. in their backyard. how funny is that? imagine if texas actually had its -A- game. and speaking of the steelers, their best defensive player over the last several years, the great casey hampton. oh yes, another longhorn!! better then any luckeye in the nfl, of course.

  • that figures ------ an antonio pittman statement in comparison to earl campbell. that about wraps that topic up. the great state of texas produces so much elite talent, it cant hold it all. other teams are allowed a taste due to the overflow. beautiful blond haired people, with tanned skin, wondeful bodies, great southern draw accents. its perfection. much like the football team. no flaws whatsover. when texas gets to the -show-, they close it! that yellow thing in the sky, thats the sun

  • how easy is it in the little 11? they cant count, have no homfield dominance and keep shaming themselves in national big games. the whole conf. stinx. imagine what texas would do in that conf. eight out of every ten years they would be playing for nat. titles. that big yellow ball in the sky, thats the sun! is there anything better then texas! HOOKEM!!

  • brown, the best college coach ever, made no such comments.

  • and dont even get me started on early campbell, and his superiority to any crap luckeye group. 'another noticeable' omission from your statements. texas produces more talent in one year, that's one year, then all northern states combined in 20. such an easy factoid, there is no contestation. and watching vince young lay spunk in that rust bucket was still funny. imagine if he actually tried. i still love your excuses though. 100 people asked who they'd choose, 100 people would choose texas!

  • more excuses... and yes, michigan is far superior to the luckeyes, no discussion there. young has done more in his rookie NFL career then any luckeye qb, and has better everything then the luckeyes. it's a no brainer. michigan, their competitive, the luckeyes, they are a joke. 'holmes, gonzales, glenn and galloway' are you insane. focus on reality, young is a superstar and roy williams is better and more desired then any of that luckeye garbage group. better then all of them put together.

  • what a classic ending in that rust bucket hole. -vince young plays injured and uninspired, yet still embarrases the luckeyes in their backyard-just another notch in the longhorns belts. not even a win worth much to any longhorn. just proof of what domination is and always will be. only way to beat horns, when team is half injured, and colt mccoy is a qb.. big deal. i want you to honor the mighty vince young, with a big framed pic on your wall. im sure hed even sign it for u for $500. Hookem!

  • even cedric benson is better then any luckeye rb in the nfl. regarding the steelers, another texas great, limus sweed will shortly prove how much better he is then holmes. that should be quick and easy to see. give ben a real target.

  • you come to texas to win titles, and star in the nfl. you go to the luckeyes, to avoid good teams, play in miserable weather, and be flopouts in the nfl. i notice you cut down ricky williams, other then acknowledge earl campbell. priest holmes is better then any luckeye nfl rb for that matter. jamal charles will be to. what the heck are the luckeyes good for accept for getting thrashed in big games? i could hope for nothing more then a bcs game against those losers. automatic win! hookem!

  • Buckeyes Holmes and Gonzales just the latest. Have Terry Glenn, Joey Galloway, Boston and other WR's in middle or near end of very productive NFL careers. Young and Roy Williams done nothing yet. Cedric Benson following in horns record # of players getting in trouble. Charles and Buckeye RB Antonio Pittman-2nd round pick in 07-both will be steady players at best. Buckeyes have many more defensive players than Texas who have or will thrive in NFL. Michigan turns out better NFL QB's than Big 12.

  • and by the way, rothliberer, in case you were too ignorant to know, is not a luckeye. the luckeyes produce no QBs!!! chris sims is better then anything, other then maybe, and i stress, maybe, the best qb the luckeyes have ever produced. and the luckeyes dont even come close in rb. heck, texas has a better WR in the NFL to. roy williams anyone? better then santonio holmes or david boston. i cant think of one player the luckeyes have better at any skill position then the horns in the nfl.

  • Didn't say he was a Buckeye, said he grew up in Ohio and played at Miami, OH. You talk about Texas HS players who play for other teams. I say thet have alot on other teams rosters but Ohio has just as many who star for other college teams like Michigan, ND, S> Carolina and other programs. Texas has more population-over twice as much as Ohio-of course they should have more. But many of them end up being benchwarmers. Robert Smith retired couple yrs ago over 10,000 yards rushing. Priest not close.

  • texas' victory over usc is still the greatest win in the greatest game ever played. no exuses in that one. the elite shown through, in usc's backyard. down went the -supposed best team ever- in their own backyard. thats what texas does!! greatest team, greatest player (young) and greatest coach ever. is there anything better then texas? no!!! HookEM

  • Greatest coach ever? again horn fans were ready to run Brown out of town. And Vince Young had beat no team of significance until Big 12 coaches shamefully dropped Cal in final poll which gave Texas undeserved shot at Michigan in 05 Rose Bowl. Then horns luck out win gives them confidence toplay with the big boys in Columbus, confidence Brown himself says they wouldn't have had if they would have gone to Holiday Bowl in 05-where they should have played. Then need number of breaks to eke out win.

  • shameful? thats a perfect word to describe the luckeyes. shameful!! an exuse of, gee whiz, we are in a game that we really shouldn't be, but at least we are getting our asses kicked by a top ranked team, makes us better then other teams is an outright joke. once again, exuses, and no acceptance. your a genuine moron. and by the way, the luckeyes dont lose big games, they get slaughtered in big games. they are sheep. and everyone knows it. when texas gets a shot, they close the show!!

  • When Texas got a shot it took a ton of breaks against Ohio St. and a blown call against USC for the best Texas team in 40 yrs. to finally get their title. So since Texas barely beat an Iowa team in 05 Alamo bowl that Ohio St. destroyed a few weeks after they whipped Texas 24-7 in Austin makes UT better? Because they won a low rung bowl and lost 3 games-1 of which was by 17 to Buckeyes, they are better than Ohio St. lost only game in championship? that's flawed thinking. Better to lose in title.

  • brainwash, you've got to be kidding. everyone knows texas is better. where do you live? you big nosed loser. tell me all about your tinted glasses? does the sun shock your body? ohio is one of the ugliest sax of garbage state's in the country. i mean, hideous. better to live in middle east. at least the sun shines. the luckeyes in bowl game means, automatic win for opponent. and a slaughter at that!! ask 100 people where they would rather live, and 100 would say, texas!

  • texas produces more talent in one year then any other state 10... but for Florida and California. Oh yah, "that thing in the sky, that's called the SUN!!!" HOOKEM HORNS!!!!!

  • Once again, vince young fornicating on that worthless old rust bucket of a stadium was priceless. Hookem Horns

  • Watching you waste away with worthless comments is comical. More excuses, excuses, excuses..... blah blah blah. Texas is bigger and better in everything. Superior in looks, the sun shines, warmer weather, better everything!!! It's the King. And like I said, Vince Young and Earl Campbell (2 highest profile positions in NFL) are better then anything that joke of school has produced.

  • excuses, excuses ,excuses....you truly are a disgrace. you belong with swooner fan losers, you should all have a big ho down on your 'lucky losses', but leave out your 'lucky' wins. the great state of texas concedes to nobody. and again, produces more talent, better looking people, and is the ultimate football state/school. there is none better. man is great to be in texas. and that big yellow thing in the sky, it's called the sun. ask 100 people which is the better state, 100 would choose texas.

  • i notice the word "lucky"used when the luckeyes lose...that's too funny to even laugh about. the game above, to a team that texas beat by the way, wasn't lucky. they had more turnovers on the road, and still won. their onside kick was precipated by an onside kick by the luckeyes. the horns winning was about as lucky, as that hellish call in the fiesta bowl, the game "miami" really won.young laid waste to that joke of a team. notice you left that out of your "lucky" comments.your a joke.HOOKEM!!

  • And former K-Stater and Cowboy D-back Terrance Newman horribly overrated. Notice how teams can throw on Cowboys when they need to. Have good stats but get burned in crunch time, that's the MO of Big 12 DB's in NFL. Another break Texas needed to win against Buckeyes was coaches having kicker who routinely booms ball out of end zone on kickoffs kicking it short to horns right before halftime and bad personal foul call gave horns deep in Buckeye end. Tressell gave Texas cheap 3 points B4 halftime.

  • And the Illinois QB that bbeat Ohio ST. almost by himself was knocked out early in 1st quarter in Illinois 1st game of season against Missouri and big bad Missouri still only beat Illinois and a backup true freshman QB 40-34. If the QB that played against Buckeyes played whole game against Missouri, Illinois would win. Big 12 team I have great respect for is Colorado. Always plays at least 2 good nonconference teams, while Texas, A&M, Tech, and K-State play cupcakes usually. OU plays some good.

  • texas would love the luckeyes in the next 5 years, it's an automatic WIN in the bowl game!!! gotcha! HOOKEM!

  • Less than 40 Longhorns taken in last 10 drafts, many huge busts-Ricky "high" Williams, Sims and others who are on bench or no longer on NFL rosters. Urlacher great player, Huff may be but Buckeyes A.J. Hawk already or soon will be at Ulracher's level. Former ESPN and Dallas sportstalk host and draft expert Norm Hitzges said he wouldn't draft Big 12 secondary players high because they fail in the NFL. Buckeyes and Big 10 turning out good DB's lately. Cowboys Roy Williams is horrible in passing D.

  • as for nfl players.. what a bunch of trash? where's the skill? name a qb from the luckeyes better then Young in the NFL? oh yah, there isn't one. Name one RB from the luckeyes, better then Earl Campbell in the NFL...oops, there isn't one? talk about an easy one. even chris sims is better then any luckeye trash qb the nfl ever received. there are so many dominant longhorn nfl players, it's too tiresome to even bother. ask 100 people what states the best, all 100 choose texas!! HOOKEM

  • OU had Chris Sims' number every game. I wish he was still a Shorthorn.

  • Has Chris Sims even played in a NFL game? Maybe in trash time. Never said Ohio St. has turned out great NFL QB's but they have turned out more who have won games in NFL in last 20-25 years than Texas has. Tomccack, Bobby Hoying, Art Schlicther all won playoff games in NFL. Name last Texas QB to win playoff games in NFL. And at other positions Buckeyes turning out top NFL talent especially at WR, LB, DB, OL and lately kickers. Also haven't been too shabby at RB. Again last 10 drafts 70 Buckeyes!

  • And Steeler's Super Bowl winning QB Ben Roethlisberger is from Findlay, Ohio-close to my hometown. He didn't play QB in high school until his senior year then played college ball at Miami, Ohio. Won Super Bowl, something Vince Young hasn't done and might never even play in a Super Bowl.

  • That's because people have been brainwashed into believing the crap that everything is bigger in Texas. Only factual proof of this "Everything in Texas is bigger" myth is your head, mouth and the amount of bull that comes out of it. Educated sports experts can see several states have almost equal level of top notch talent in them including Florida, Ohio, Texas, Cal., and Pennsylvania. Of course in different yrs. 1 may turn out more than another. And if you have a lot more kids you should produce

  • ask 100 people where they'd rather live, and they would all choose texas" beat that one!!! HOOKEM.

  • the last time i saw texas in that worthless state, i saw ugly sulking fans, walk out of that rust bucket whining and crying as vince young laid his spunk in that disgraceful field. newsflash "mendenhall now has 733 yards rushing and 8 td's" no homefield advantage at all in that scum hole. and that weak schedule. superiority in TEXAS usurps anything north. nice try though. HOOKEM

  • Mendenhall didn't beat Buckeyes it was Illinois' QB Juice Williams that beat Buckeyes. He converted 3 or 4 3rd or 4th and long in 4th to keep ball away from Buckeyes. Ohio St. had ball only little over aminute in 4th quarter. As for home field advantage I can't remember last time Buckeyes lost at home to team that finished with losing record like Texas did to K-State this year. And it was a blowout on top of that. For that matter can't remember last time Buckeyes lost anywhere to team under .500

  • Losing to team that finished under .500 for teams rated in preseason top 10 like Texas, USC, OU and W. Virginia all did in 07 more shameful than losing in national championship game when Buckeyes not even in top 15 in preseason polls in 07. And Texas got whipped at home by 20 by a K-State team that beat them and knocked out their babyfaced QB the year before. A texas team that should have been out for revenge and was trying to make BCS bowl gets rolled in Austin by sub 500 team. Texas Fight-NONE

  • stay HOME!! you don't belong in the great state of TEXAS!! blah blah blah blah blah... texas football is so far superior to any state (much less that worthless joke of a state) it's pointless for any other opinions or worthless, non-factual states to be quoted. the only thing bigger in ohio, is noses. not too mention pale skin and just pure ugliness. how does a state get that ugly? stop breeding folks! HOOKEM

  • You do realize your team wears puke colors, right?

  • ask 100 people which state is better. go ahead? including yourself? all would say texas!!! all would chose the horns', and certainly all 100 would tell you how much MORE SERIOUS texas hs football is then any nothern stinkhole. and of all northern stinkholes, pennsyvlania dominates the loser state of ohio in hs football. thats the best stinkhole of the group. talk about comparing elite level talent (texas) to c level talent (ohio or any northern stinkhole). that big yellow thing, it's the sun!

  • School I went to now also football power. Holds record for longest football winning streak in Ohio history-57 games from 1997-2000. Team they lost to at state by 4 in 2000 was team from their own league who also has won 4 state titles in football in last 8 yrs. That league considered top small school league in US by many. Has 4 teams that have won multiple titles in football, and girls and boys basketball in last 10yrs. 7 of the 10 teams won at least 1 state title in big 3 sport in last 5 yrs.

  • -luckeyes still thrive- ???? at what? losing titles, winning nothing over a period of what, 4 decades? one title by cheating, so really no titles. i can't think of one thing they are good for but being a whoooping toy. you moronic nerds are almost as bad as swooner fans! hook em!

  • Even with Ohio St. having only 3 players drafted this yr.-I said 2 before, it was actually 3, Buckeyes have had 70 players drafted in last 10 years. Longhorns have had less than 40 players drafted in last 10 yrs. And like I said the total of players who played HS or college ball in TX. that were drafted this yr. was almost equal to #of players drafted that played HS or college ball in Ohio. Bowling Green, Toledo, Cincinnatti all had multiple picks. Even div. 3 power Mt. Union, OH had player.

  • 7 Heisman trophies, 7 national championships, some say only 5 but who cares. And Ohio St. has the best winning percentage in college football since 1950. Michigan is winningest program of all time. Only SEC close in historical context to these 2 programs is Alabama. While SEC may be good now as a conference florida and LSU are fairly new powers. Texas has lot of wins but again a lot were in old SWC. And people brag about heyday of SMU. Ohio St. drilled rated SMU teams several times.

  • the best players on all college teams are or have been outa texas. having to address the issue is moot.

  • OU plays Cincinnatti next yr. A good team, they won't be as good as they were the last 2 yrs. though. Also in this yrs. NFL draft even though Ohio St. only had a couple players leave- 2 got drafted. Next yrs team could have 2-4 players taken in top 10, 5-7 players in 1st or 2nd round. And Ohio's smaller schools had as many players drafted this year AS state of TX. did. Players who played college or HS ball in TX-about 16 or 17. Players who played college ball or HS ball in Ohio-about the same!

  • Again if Texas and Arkansas were in the Big 10 from the 70's-90's they wouldn't have as many wins. Of course they would have a good team occasionally but wouldn't have ruled like they did the weak sisters of the SWC-Rice, Houston, Baylor, TCU, etc. That's why when Texas lucked out against Buckeyes it killed me. Because Texas hadn't been as good as Buckeyes over last 25 yrs. But because they won that game they think UT is as good as or better than Buckeyes historically. Not even close Texas!OSU#1

  • have i mentioned how great it is to be a longhorn fan!!! is there anything better!!

  • Lots of things are better. Being a Sooner fan for one.

  • How can you say a team is better or decide a champion if the 2 teams are tied-only in backwards Texas. A team could keep fumbling in the other teams territory and win the game just because they were inside that teams 50 for more plays- a stupid rule. Teams won state championships in Texas even though game was a tie. So how could you say football is better if there was no clear cut winners and Texas teams never beat or played top teams from other states. Only lately has TX. teams played outside.

  • oh, and if i did not mention, based on your infintile comments, you clearly have not been to hs football in dallas, texas or anywhere else in texas (ie, west texas). it's another cop out statement, mired in stupid and go nowhere facts. texas hs football is unmatched. see: friday night lights or varsity blues. flicks whose interpretation is not far fectched from reality. hook em!!

  • High school football in Dallas has sucked for the last 20 yrs, it's suburbs have produced the good teams-Plano, Southlake Carroll, etc. and how can a state say they have the best football when they didn't until recently play anyone from outside of Texas or Oklahoma? Top teams from Ohio, Fla., CA. all beat top teams from other states, Texas hasn't. and Texas had stupid penetration rule until 10 yrs. ago. If playoff game ended in tie winner was team who was inside other teams 50 yd. line longer.

  • size of state's, ohio is still in the top tier of populace, still cant produce titles. when you sneeze, how big are your bugars? with those nostril holes, got to be big. texas females produce better football then ohio, or any northern stinkhole. what a disgrace. you clearly skew facts in an embarrasing and disgraceful way. texas is the best at everything, and getting bigger and better!! and that big yellow thing in the sky, it's called the sun!!! hook em!

  • Both Texas and Ohio St. have 1 title since 1970, and Ohio St. has finished #2 and in top 5 more than Texas over last 20-25 yrs. Texas has lot of wins under Brown but until they lucked out against Buckeyes most of horns wins against unranked nonconcerence teams. Even in John Cooper yrs they had years finishing in top 10 and beat ranked nonconference teams. Again since Big 12 was formed Buckeyes are 6-1 against Big 12 teams, twice beating your conference champ in a bowl.

  • do not breed in the great state of texas, under any circumstance. and as for those great luckeye players. sure, look at all those great rbs (eddie george, rofl) and qbs(tomczak, even funnier). texas produces more nfl talent then anyone, no matter what college it resides in. the lack of sun, and bad breeding must have affected your mind. and yes, there's a reason why people leave that stinkhole of a state (oh), liberal losers. move to alaska, or somewhere were you belong!!! hook em!

  • Football in Texas no bigger than these other states or as big as basketball in small town Indiana and northwest Ohio. Who cares about movie. Best line in a movie was film about nuclear sub starring Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington called "Scarlet and Gray Tide", when crew is standing in pouring rain and guy yells, "Go Ohio" and the crew yells "Roll Buckeyes!" Sends chills up your spine just thinking about it. HS sports big in a lot of places. I will leave the breeding to you. Give it to Bevo!

  • any citing of a 'few' select instances means nothing. texas hs football is so dominant, it means more then the town it resides in. the hs qb, for example, is more popular then the mayor. discussing any loser ohio hs team isn't even relevant. calif. or florida, a distant 2nd or 3rd. but ohio, sure thing. time to hit the crack-pipe buddy!! oh, and that big yellow thing in the sky, that's the sun. GET OUT OF MY STATE!

  • Few instances? I've been to supposedely the top program in Texas and USA last 5 or so years-Southlake Carroll, and they are not that great. Been home to Ohio and watched teams in the smallest 3 divisions that could compete with the top biggest division school program in Texas. The league my school is in has produced state champions in 9 of last 10 years in football, having years where multiple teams from that league win state in different divisions. School I went to always was basketball power.

  • Same thing in other big state-Cal., Fla, Ohio, Pa. Top players on team popular and get away with anything. Town revolves around the sport. Our high school has been that way for over 80 years. 1st played in a state championship basketball game in 1924. Has been to state in boys basketball 11 times-3 champs, 4 times runner-up, girls been to state 10 times in 30 yrs.-won 5 titles, runner-up once, been in football final 4 7 times in last 11 yrs, winning 4 titles. They live and die with their sports.

  • and you clearly haven't been to dallas, or any bigtime programs is texas ... more likes and stupidity. it IS taken more seriously. clearly you never played or came from it. oh, and that yellow thing in the sky is called the sun, big nose! don't forget your mustache to go along with the pale skin and tinted glasses. what a loser!

  • I go home to Ohio and the kids in my small town and surrounding towns look huge compared to what I see in Dallas and north Texas. Seen some big kids in Texas but not overall team size of even smallest division teams in Ohio. And both about same in speed at skill positions. texas probably has more college level QB prospects because of weather, they can run those offenses where you throw 40+ times. Those offenses usually don't work in cold, rainy or snowy late November playoff games in north.

  • LET me list some more Buckeyes of recent years who are good NFL players-Mike Doss, Dan Wilkinson, Shawn Springs, Nick Mangold, Mike Nugent, Chris Gamble, deceased lineman for Vikings Lecharles Bentley, etc. Also great Buckeyes of past I haven't mentioned are Chris Spielman-the 1st high school athlete on Wheaties box who played HS ball at Ohio power Massillon in early 80's, Tom Cousineau, Keith Byars, Chris Carter, Ron Springs, Doug Donnely. There are just so many of them to remember.

  • Here is Ohio State's all-time records against teams that make up the Big 12-28 wins and 4 losses. 2 of the losses OU's lucky last second win in 77 and Texas lucky 3 point win in 2005. Buckeyes record vs big 12 teams:Baylor-2-0, Colorado-3-1, Kansas St.-1-0,Missouri-10-1, Nebraska-2-0, OU-1-1, Oklahoma St.-2-0, Texas-1-1, Texas A&M-4-0, Texas Tech-2-0. Buckeyes also 7-1 vs SMU and undefeated against other former SWC members Rice and Houston.

  • Oh I forgot TCU, 4-1-1 record against that team longhorn fans tell me is 1 of top 25 programs of all-time-hah hah.

  • what a waste of posting. blah, blah , blah , blah, blah. texas hs talent, is so good, it could beat many college teams, like ohio state. and people like the swooners, would have nothing without it. as for the serious-ness levels, BULLCRAP NW ohio or any stinkhole up north compares to texas hs football. and what a worthless stat regarding some disgrace of a ohio hs team beating any texas hs team. sure thing? whate ver!! like texas HS teams wouldnt thump them everytime.

  • Highland Park was #1 big school team in Texas when Cincinnati Moeller came down here and thumped them 35-0! Complete dominance. That was when high school teams rarely played teams outside their state, much less traveling over 1,000 miles to thump Texas best HS team. Highland Park and Southlake are rich Dallas suburbs that have won state in Texas recently. Those skinny little rich kids would get smashed by some Ohio teams. I see these Texas HS kids in stores and I tower over them. They're not big

  • Just learned a top HS offensive lineman Michigan stole from Ohio has transferred to Ohio St. Will be eligible in 2009 to join the 3 top 10 HS offensive lineman Buckeyes will have as freshmen backups this year. also have top 50 recruits at TE, WR, and defensive line coming in this year. and don't forget Buckeyes also signed the top rated HS QB in the nation this year. So look for 10+ win seasons next 4-5 yrs. Mack Brown would really try to avoid playing Buckeyes in next 5 years.

  • Just remembered Buckeyes also signed Etienne Sabino from Miami, Fla.-the top rated HS inside linebacker in the nation last year. The rich get richer. So anything short of National championship will be disappointment for buckeyes in next 4 or 5 yrs. Texas is haappy to underachieve and beat an overmatched team in a lesser bowl than play the best and possibly lose against a top team in BCS bowl. Buckeyes rather lose in championship than win Alamo or Holiday-type bowl. Texas rather beat the mediocre

  • florida and california aren't worth a Shi* compared to the HS football talent in Texas. not only that, but severity of Texas HS Football makes Calif. and Florida a joke alone. your an idiot!! texas HS football is more important then humans lives. calif. na and floridians care more about weed, and belly piercing. you think they take it serious, get your butt to texas!! you'll find out what serious and talent is! moron. hook em!!!

  • And for the size of the state's, with all the people leaving Ohio in last 20-25 years, Ohio still turns out a lot of top high school talent, many that play for other teams. Lots of Michigan's top players came from Ohio-Manningham, Desmond Howard, QB Elvis Grabac, too many to list. Also running back for Florida last 2 years from Ohio. And USC's All-America TE from Toledo. S. Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn St., Illinois, etc. all have taken top 50 players out of Ohio recently and Bucks still thrive.

  • Texas may produce more HS football talent/seriousness then any other state, so what? That talent has always belonged to OU. By the way, OU just scored another TD vs the Bevo worshippers. Score: 124-10. So much arrogance for so little accomplishment.

  • Florida and California can something about that Texas comment!

  • It's a joker. Too much bevo humping. OU's storied tradition of elite RB's was likely a big part of the reason that Peterson went to OU. And his father having an affiliation with OU didn't hurt. Mack Brown's snake oil is transparent.

  • whats more amazing is the ease at which young and crew made the game winning drive vs. the luckeyes look. look at those losers exit that rust bucket stadium. need to expand it due to the size of the noses which should count as two people. horns cant be beaten unless injured or sick. to much power and talent.

  • "The shorthorns can't be beat unless injured or sick!" Give me a break. Do you need some cheese to go with that whine?

  • And if some of the other Buckeye players that were thought to be leaving early for NFL this year they would have broken record for most 1st round picks from 1 school in same draft because their linebacker Laurinitis ans offensive tackle Boone were projected top 10 picks. Also had 4 other players that experts said would have been 1st round picks if they left early. Texas finally had some of their top players leave early and none went in 1st round in a weak draft, all went in 2nd-5th round.

  • what a bunch of losers. first of all, since when do the luckeyes or swooners produce any good nfl talent? adrian peterson is a texan and longhorn by birth right, none of that swooner crap. tommy harris and mark clayton
