You guys really have to see that these people are probbaly the most underpaid proffesion for how long they do school. Besides they are probbaly the most willing for the pay cut and only want to change the wording of the contract from permant to temporary.

@drjj10 Last year the median CUSD teacher salary was $90K/yr + benefits and an 80% pension - that's $72K/yr at retirement. They work 9 months a year - underpaid? The 2 million Californians out of work at the time of the strike would like to have know that their unemployment was "temporary". Perhaps the union has the power to determine the exact date the economy will recover so people can get back to work to pay taxes to pay teacher's salaries. Most willing to take a pay cut - NOT

@jubilantJOSEFINE of course it was about the money if it was bout education then they wouldnt be holding kids education hostage. im pretty sure there will be another strike in the future let's just hope the teachers wont be misguided by the union and that the kids will actually open their eyes and realize what is really goin on

@jubilantJOSEFINE well i just saw ur video bout the strike and yes u r right the board is stupid and corrupt dont get me wrong im against the board also but u hav to realize the union isnt right either and thats wat im tryin to say is that they r both wrong. the board and union leader should be replaced and the union shouldnt act so childish and hypocritical and should be grateful that they hav jobs in the first place

@jubilantJOSEFINE It is all about the money. Did you see teachers striking when student programs were cut? Did you see teachers striking when class sizes were increased? Did you see teachers organizing when, for several years, parents dug deep for millions of dollars to cover budget deficit & retain teachers. I didn't.
