I am a big fan of Thief 1 and 2 , but I can't run this game anymore cos of using Windows 7 :( Can you please tell me in detail how you fix this problem ?

this game was amazing, nice walk through. you could hide in shadows, tiptoe, crouch, walk along the wall, walk silently when going slowly, water arrows to knock out lights, it was an amazing and so well thought out game

@craigos28 oh yea and you could pick pocket, zoom inn to shoot an arrow like you were focusing, lean around corners, go for head shots, knock out with a black jack, hide int he dark and listen to conversations.. and the game had amazing cut scenes and a solid involved story.

swim, jump, climb, squeeze through opening, sword fight - goes on and on. although knocking people out was much more preferable. loot, steal.. it was sick.

Side note...I like that you have your brightness turned up so folks can see the game in the video, but the game really is more atmospheric with darker shadows.

You know you're pro at this game when you know exactly where your arrow will hit at any distance, given that it has a firing arc. Played the crap outta this game for many years, b/c some of the fan-made missions were just outrageously awesome.

Is anyone else going to get Dishonored? If you don't know what that is, which is understandable, definitely go check it out. It's supposed to be a lot like Thief, Deus Ex, and The Elder Scrolls, if you can imagine what that's like.

The director of Thief: Deadly Shadows and Deus Ex is working on Dishonored, so it's likely to be worth buying for those of you who are fans of this game. It may or may not have an awesome protagonist, but the gameplay seems like it would be very much like Thief.

There is nothing that compares to playing these games the for the first time. These videos bring back memories but don't show the feel of the game too well, too mechanical. But, pretty hard to play through the game for the first time...twice.

maybe it's because some enemies in some games have very bad eyesight... i mean, in some stealth games, enemies will not see you if you're anywhere within the shadows, even if you're directly in front of them.....

Perfect games. I love the thought and the challenge of sneaking around and being stealthy, and trying to outwit the enemy. I especially love the audacity of being able to pick things off of guards and quietly slip away, completely leaving them unaware that you were ever in the area.

I don't like it when people rush this game and play like an amateur, I used to love to take my time, get to know the area, aquire all the loot and only knock-out the guards who really had to be. Something great this and Thief 2 have also is the extra objectives you get given when you increase the difficulty, I wish Thief 3 had this as well.

i first played this when i was twelve. i was so obsessed with how cool garret was that as i was sitting next to a girl in english class, i tried to pick her pocket and impress her. she had a tube of lipgloss in her back pocket and i tried grabbing it, but she thought i was poking her butt and got hellla pissed at me haha.

This is not a very good player on the video. It's bad habit to leave your weapon out, and leave bodies laying around. And you pick the people's pockets BEFORE you knock them out. Otherwise, the pick pocketing doesn't count on your goals.

I think it's hilarious how the guard at 2:08 says "You'll pay thief" after being knocked out. There were those little bugs in the engine that always made this game that much more fun :D
