I have to agree with AMGfreak. As much as I love to see the Vettes consistently vanquish all comers, respect is still due to the competition. When the C6.R first hit the track, she was fast but kept breaking and DNF'd the first few times out. Meanwhile, Porsche had long since written the book on durability before the Vettes even showed up. Since then, the Vette has improved because of- not in spite of- competition from the Vipers, Ferraris, and Aston Martins. Respect where it's due.
@FraAngelico729 When it comes to cars and racing, competition is good for everyone. It forces auto manufactures to improve. In ALMS it was the Porches that dominated then Corvette stepped it's game up and forced Ferrari and the other cars to get better.
@FraAngelico729 BMW has been strong. The Ferraris are very fast but unrealiable. I think the past few years have been the most competive for the top GT class. What ever happens I will be watching. I'm looking forward to the Laguna Seca race.
@aqinthe Can't believe how the M3 GTR did at at LM! If Corvette Racing isn't on their toes, that Bimmer will eat their lunch! Thankfully, they seem to be aware of that. I think the Prodrive 550 Maranello made that clear back in 2003. I was both relieved and disappointed to see them drop the 550 after that. That was the strongest competition the C6.R's had to that point. Glad to see others are keeping the heat on.
@FraAngelico729 Ya, the last couple years of GT1 were pretty boring. As much as I like to see Corvette win, I also like to see good competitive racing. I had forgotten about the prodrive 550.
hey dont be ragin on those Porsche's and Ferrari's because they r in a lower gt2 and the corvette is in gt1 so ofcouse the corvette is going to pass them
Fast forward to the present. The Corvette C6-R's because of the lack of competition in GT1 are now running GT2 and very soon GT. I wonder where Aston Martin, BMW,Porsche, Ferrari, and the rest will go to hide if the C6-R's continue their track dominance?
