@ForeverDorian I can see why you say that. The reason why the recoil is jerky is because this was filmed back when the recoil bug existed. Back then the bug didn't get much attention since not many people used the default rifle. It wasn't until the slow and fast rifles were given random recoil when they too inherited the bug and people started complaining. Now that it's fixed, the default rifle can actually kill even faster than shown in the video.

Lol I think you didn't notice that wikkid got 3000 Deaths I think and he didn't get those deaths by suicide. I think the default rifle is only good for beginners because it has low recoil and slow rate of fire. The Roderick rifle is the rifle the more skilled players take and the Popper only take Very skilled or total noobish players.

legit gameplay. very nice. i used to like bfh but then all the real life guns came in and the uber shit now the game isnt fun anymore. it used to be a guy could play this game and be pretty successful but now it seems like you have to have bf points in order to excel. i really think EA should create servers that people can only join if you havnt purchsed any bf points on that account before. so then ppl like me who enjoyed the beta can play without worrying about m16s and ak 47s

So I just decided to play with the default rifle and i got to say it fucking OWNZORZ if you are good enough to shoot the enemys head.

The recoil is easy to adjust and you can 2 shot commandos and soldiers.

Very good weapon if you know how to handle.

@Shrodeux You still have to "fight" against the recoil, just like with any sniper rifle. The default rifle just has really low recoil is all which is what makes it a very efficient counter to snipers using the slow rifle which is the most popular sniper rifle in the game... meaning you'll be able to surprise the majority of other snipers since the default rifle is very underestimated.

@monkeylasers231 I would recommend: 5 Stealth, 1 Elixir, 1 Mark Target, 2 Piercing Shot

5 stealth is a necessity by the time you reach around level 10. 1 elixir is needed to get away from tight situations or from knifers. (Also for charging in with a knife too if you're using a knife as your other weapon.) 1 mark target is needed for mainly marking other commandos. Then the rest should go into piercing shot which you should work on maxing out immediately as you continue to level.

Most of your kills are on people not aware of you shooting them + having a PS 5/5 req for every kill, while the LR can kill without PS.

3 shots is just enough for people to react.

@Rosineren I wouldn't say it's useless in high-level matches since it's basically a bit slower than the fast rifle. It just barely makes it in the the very short time period where you can kill someone without having them react.

Also of course most people aren't aware I'm shooting at them... I'm popping out of stealth or from behind cover. A good commando always selects the most vulnerable or threatening enemy. Are you saying your commando runs around with no stealth in the front lines?

Well, atleast for high lvl matches (infantry maps mostly though as that are what I play.) you have to change your playstyle if you use the default.

With the LR you can pop 2shots before the enemy reaches to pop a shield/CM, however with the default you need atleast 3shots to kill a target, and thats plenty of time to use CM. You then have to hit them 2 more times after that, and your PS still needs to be active. (and all shots HS upon that.)

@Rosineren I guess it's kinda hard to notice since I used such short clips to emphasize the rhythm of the music, but a lot of times I wait for enemies to be vulnerable like when I'm at the right distance where they can't "insta-kill" me or if they've used CM, etc. That's why the clips show players like Red in the video don't use CM once I start firing at them. But most shots I do are 2/3 shots which is why people can't react fast enough which is one of the main points of the video.

Personally I wouldn't use the default in a competitive match, but if I had to the point is I could cope with it and still be able to play quite sufficiently.
