The Germans are firing a rifle which won't be produced for another 20 years, the Kar98k. I know this because the one the commander fired had a turned down bolt, whereas the Mauser Gewehr 98 of WW1 had a straight bolt. sorry, I had to say this
Not only "daughter" is Czech. The whole movie was prepared in Czech Republic. The valley with hill is Obrnice valley near Most. Funny enough, Obrnice is home city of plastic model kit producer Eduard - they do quite a lot of WW I aircraft stuff. During movie production the Eduard chaps were really surprised when WW I planes started to fly around :o))
Thanks that really helped. Seriously. I was *critiquing* (how ever you spell it) and was dying to know where it was filmed. Thanks you really helped me out.

The Krauts would of done us in WWI & II If they used this stella trick on the resistance!!! No one could suffer them lot drinking this lovely beer of the gods!!!
beer of the gods? lol it's just a stella... try a belgian trappist beer such as westvleteren, brewed by monks. or a duvel, leffe, chimay, mort subite, delirium tremens, etc.
the look the pilot gives the landlord after being betrayed is priceless

The production of these commercials is amazing, looks like it could come straight out of some big-budget movie about The Great War.

All the beer ads I see on TV are appeals to college frat boys going wild.
This is a work of art.
