This is all nice for reducing ping at PC level. How about having less ping overall, like for consoles connected at a router. Or reducing the ping of the entire ADSL line? Aye? Like when you live in Spain and the whole internet system of the country is low-end? How do you get from 400ms to 100ms then?

I usually have 88-120. Although my internet spikes sometimes and the highest i've reached is 26,000 in the game LoL. I just played CSS and i had 12 ping as opposed to my 100. Insane difference. Let's just hope it fixes the spikes...

@maverick19958 my friend it is about where u live add the net speed (speedtest test u to the nearest server not to the game server so try finding the game servers country or watever and test on that one)

coarse it wont work, ping is based mostly on the time it takes a packet to get to server and back, unless you got some neat way of cutting the distance to the server your connecting to, its only an optimization :-\ before fiddling around in regedit look up the definition of ping... its very similar to a submarines sonar...

This is the TCP ACKnowledgement FREQUENCY, for Win2000 or newer.

Read the MS article. TCP uses delayed ack's when receiving packet segments. Default is 2 segments. If a segment arrives within 200 milliseconds, the Ack is sent back. If the segment does not arrive in 200 milliseconds, TCP pauses.

In other words, IF you have a slow ISP this edit will prevent a 200 millisecond pause on every other segment. But if your ISP is just fine, this doesn't help and may actually confuse the server.

ok i can confirm that this also works on vista 64 bit. been racking my brain to fix my latency issues and seen a few posts online that claimed to fix lag. Only this one worked for me. For the first time in 5 months my latency indicator on warcraft is in the green (yay) Well done mate

This key modify'es the number of packets recieved AND/OR sent. It increases the rate, but not the number, normally it would send/recieve 2 packets for 2 seconds, but with this modified it does it 1 packet for 1 second. It doesn't increase the amount it increases the rate.
