I was on that march.

Great hypnotic drum beat.

I bought some union flag badges from an NF member from London who i actually gave to a Labour councillor i knew at work some weeks after for the swimming team he organised.

Afterwards, there was a rally next to Gorton swimming pool, i remember speeches by John Tyndall and local candidate Derek Warberton who gave my brother and i a lift back to Longsight in his car.

A great day i will always remember.

The march formed up on Crowcroft Road just off Stockport Rd near The Midway pub (Longsight / Levenshulme border)

It moved up Stockport Rd, Past Dickenson Rd and past the outdoor market. It finally turned right down Kirkmanshulme Lane skirting Belle vue and finished with an open air rally on Hyde Road near Belle Vue, It went nowhere near Ardwick Green

The marchers emerging from Crowcroft Road in Longsight on to Stockport Road next to Crowcroft Park. They continue down the A6 in to Longsight town centre (they had a battle with the Anti-Nazi league and Police on the corner of Slade Lane and Stockport Road). Then they carry on down Stockport Road, up Plymouth Grove, past Belle Vue and the end shot looks like the side of Gorton baths. I was 10 at the time and clearly remember the day.
