At the Sturgis Rally 2008 at Buffalo Chip in South Dakota, an annual tribute to veterans, John McCain encouraged his wife to participate in the "Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant - Bikinis on the Beach." (An event described by ESPN's Jim Caple as "essentially a topless beauty pageant. And occasionally bottomless, too.") "I told her with a little luck, she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the first lady and Miss Buffalo Chip."
Although i'm not from the US and can't really talk about your issues, all i can say, first of all alphacat brave move my friend for obvious reasons, very funny introduction and i understand where you're coming from, you should be really proud of them both, they shouldn't be victimized at all,Obama didn't get that far "dispite the fact that he is black" Clinton didn't get that far "dispite the fact that she is a woman" but because they're outstanding people,we need to see beyond our prejudice, peace!
why is it always sexism or racism? how about this, more people liked, and still do like, obama because he is an overall better candidate in there eyes. that is why he won, nothing to do with sexism.
People got mad with Hilary after her hubby opened his big mouth....i think the media just started defending Barack after all those speeches Bill made. Alot of the republicans keep calling Barack a cry baby but he has never even responded to some of things they've said....i agree being in war does not give anyone the qualifications to become a president
I heard Govenor Rendell comment that America is not ready for an African American President. Guess what? I think America is. I know I am. On the flip side, I am not ready for a woman President. I think women are not ready to handle such responsibility. Those who can handle it and would be good as President, don't want to be President and those who want to be President it is all about their egos. I have seen too many women in power who can not handle the power.
I know, England has her queen also. But in America, women who want power do not know how to handle it yet. I have seen women police officers who would rather arrest innocent people than admit she made a mistake. And I knew a woman manager who delighted humiliating a male manager. Not my idea of handling power. They will get there in time as more women get in to these positions.
Great job... Yes women and minorities should stick together against the white male empire which is what is responsible for all the "isms". We NEED to have someone different than an old white racist sexist republican--come on!! Why would any woman vote McCain, he represents sexism at its worst. He will overturn R V W!! And keep us from getting equal pay (he voted against it). I am a white woman who was for Hillary and will definately vote Obama!!
Personally speaking I find all "isms" deplorable..We have a saying in Scotland "We are all Jock Tamsons bairns" As far as the democratic nomination contest was concerned I think the best candidate won..However I have my doubts as to wether the US will elect their first black president..As Alphacat says its a middle America thing..The one thing we can be thankful for is whoever the next US president is..It wont be GWB
..Anyway, I don't want to go on and on forever...my point is, I think that if we just give Obama a chance, that one chance, he will change America for the better, even if it takes a long time, he will do it, like his phrase, "Yes We Can," he can do it and we can help. ^_^
p.s. MCcain is just as bad as Bush is and he's pretty old, we don't want him dying on us while in the first weeks in office do we?? I don't want to sound rude, but it's the truth.
SURPRISE Many Americans don't care about race or sex.
He's a fluke because he lacks experience. A teacher could never become principal with only 3 years of teaching experience. A Wal-Mart cashier could never become CFO with only 3 years experience. What values is our nation coming to when people believe a 3 year Senator is qualified to be President of the United States. It's outrageous.
galacticmode:...And it isn't about experience, it's about good judgement. We thought George Bush had experience and now, look how fucked up America is thanks to his supposed "experience."
Obviously having experience can be disastrous. Imagine someone with NO EXPERIENCE and a lack of credentials. My point about Wal-Mart is that it would require an extensive resume and proven record of success. Obama only has speeches and like an American Idol contestant, once the product is out, it isn't what people expected or wanted.
galacticmode: And Obviouslly experience doesn't mean squat: Hillary and Mccain were for the war: and they supoosedly "have experience," and Obama was against the war from the very beginning...yet you think he has no experience..which doesn't really matter, he obviouslly has some pretty good judgement. With that kind of judgement, who the hell needs 100 years of experience??
galacticmode<~~~ yes it does take some experience, however even in corporate America steps on the ladder are skipped all the time. in addition to that not everything is so black and white and calculated. the organic part of leadership can't be predicted or taught. it just is. Bush was super qualified and look what state we're in.
..If you haven't, I suggest you read Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope," it really shows that Obama without question knows what he's doing, I bet if every person in all of America read that book, they'd vote for him for President, without hesitation. :)
...started, Obama was against it, while Hillary was for it...so that shows alot, and what about this "experience??" We thought George Bush had experience and now, look how fucked up America is thanks to his supposed "experience."
Right on, Alphacat, right on, I agree, your views speak the truth, I think the reason why Hillary didn't win is because she's a bold faced liar: She lied about her support with NAFTA, she lied about that Bosnia incident, she lied about Obama's healthcare plan, & etc., and she wasn't talking about any new type of politics at all. And I see what you mean about experience: It isn't about experience, it's about good judgement, and Obama has that, like at the very beginning before this crazy war..
Finger quotes nice touch man... It is easy to find a reason to not vote for either one of these guys, I find it more difficult to find a good reason to vote either one of them. On election day I will vote for the guy who has given me the fewest reasons to vote for the other guy. Pitiful but true,
'it's okay, i'm still speaking the truth'. i rememeber when ian crossland said that...lol. we, vloggers are in our own world. we know we speak the truth and no one can tell us different. you realize the reason we're so hated in the comment section for vids like this is because we can't be interrupted and no one can stop us or tell us their views right then and there. yeah, i've heard some people say some weird things about if barack or hillary didn't win. well i'm glad barack won. that's it...!
iman: yeah, he said that. we all think what we say is gospel, but for some reason we get hundreds of comments of people disagreeing...lol. we still 'speak the truth' though:)
Some older white feminists think that Obama was "pushed" into the election by people with money in order to prevent a woman from winning the White House. While many of these women aren't inherently racist by have been blinded to racist comments (even coming from their own comrades) out of their determination to put Hillary into the White House. To them the ultimate insult is that "even" a black MAN can be president before a woman can get elected.
yeah, my best friend used to say that for years that this country was sexist enough that we'd see a black president before we saw a female president. which i really do believe is true, yet i believe Obama is simply a better candidate and thats why he won
Hi I agree with everthing you said but I read a comment that someone saying they feel sorry for Obama Don't feel sorry for him or Hillary Just understand SEXISM/RACISM is just unfair inexcusable ...
ill just say some political people(BUSH)are ASSHOLES.if i was old enough to vote i would vote for barack because we can have something NEW in office he is black and muslim we are now in INFLATION in case people didnt know WERE GOING BOKE because of who? BUSH he fucked EVERYTHING up and i am 13 and african american(we are smart).Alphacat you are SO right.people in America are ignorant and cant see past skin color thats sad what is America coming to?
Well I'm NOT voting for MaCain based solely on his hair do. I mean, COME ON! What is THAT?
I'm totally discriminating against one candidate based on his hair cut!
Now Obama has great hair. He was always a shoe in for me... Hillary has horrible hair and so I wouldn't have voted at all if it was Hillary against McCain.
I Completely agree with this, I can't believe some people arent going to vote for barack just because hillary didnt win, that makes no sense. I can't believe how hard the media has been on Obama, he's had to deal with alot of bullshit the amount of time that was spent covering the reverend's comments.. i couldn't believe itttttttttttttt.. go obama!
Agreed! many don't want to see those truths, so glad you pointed them out. They are just mad because they wanted woman to beat the male in terms of who would make it furthest. Im sick of women crying sexism about things and not looking at the whole picture.
lmao the end was funny. but on a more serious note, i think you have a very good point about hilary and obama. and we do need change... if obama wins im going to be excited, because people are going to have to accept a black man as president. hopefully it will open some eyes. also he seems very honest and headstrong. i trust him.
not that it matters what i think, cause i cant vote yet, BUT i have watched the news and stuff and kept up with what has been going on with the candidates...and i completely agree with you! :)
its unfortunate that lots of Americans base their opinions on race and sex instead of things that really matter. but unfortunately, people are always gonna be that way and it sucks.
all i care about is voting for the candidate that will end the war somehow, and keep the economy from crumbling. the raise in gas prices is all george bush's fault.
Ohio is still part of the midwest. Although it's 'as far east as Florida' it's STILL part of the midwest. "Midwest" is not as literal as it sounds by the way. Just like we call Asia far east....on their map WE'RE east. Just one of those things...it is what it is. Guess you have to be from the midwest to have known this info...didn't make sense to me the first time I heard it. You should read up. google midwest...you'll see Ohio in every definition. Peace!
You are correct, and I did know that Ohio is in every definition of the Midwest. I just personally don't agree with it, I've spend time in various areas of Ohio and to me they always had a northeastern feel...if that makes any sense. I found the people to be quite different in states I consider the "Midwest" then in Ohio but then again I'm not from there so I should just shut my mouth I suppose. Just a trivial pet peeve of mine that I can never help but argue with. Good video BTW ...Cheers.
I'm sure not bashing the Midwest. It's a geographical location question really. Minnesota is the shit btw..I slept outside in a church parking lot in St. Charles one time and nobody even called the cops on me..awesome state.
When people lose or are losing they will point out any excuse they can as a reason why. Hilary Clinton simply didnt win. Blame it on whatchalike.
as for Obama... I'm going to vote for him over McCain who, to me, sounds like a crazy man. Democrats have been good to me. I prospered through the 90s. In the 2000's it has been much much harder and that is because the republicans drove us into the groud. :(
i find it stupid...why should people have to deal with their sexisn or racism ... people should not have to think of that they should think about how good the people are... im still watchin the rest of the video hehe :D
The white working class was hurt by NAFTA, yet they voted for the wife of the man who ushered NAFTA into effect because they didn't want to vote for an African American candidate. When the white working class whines about unemployment and lack of health insurance they only have themselves to blame.
Same message to feminists who say they will vote for McCain instead of Obama. Let those feminists see how well they like supreme court justices appointed by "President McCain". Get what you deserve
But i must say you have given me something to think about because me not voting its just like voting for the wrong candidate...hmm i'll give it some thought
I am actually was supporting Hillary because I really didn't trust Obama that much. But now that Hillary is out of the race I had no plans to vote at all, I decided I don't trust any of the two candidates running, so therefore I would not vote.

Agreed! many don't want to see those truths, so glad you pointed them out.

its unfortunate that lots of Americans base their opinions on race and sex instead of things that really matter. but unfortunately, people are always gonna be that way and it sucks.
guess what Alphie?? a lil over 2 weeks away!
WOOOO HOOO. lol

Logic doesn't play a part in what someone finds to be a method of vengeance. Do it now, deal with the consequences later.

all i care about is voting for the candidate that will end the war somehow, and keep the economy from crumbling. the raise in gas prices is all george bush's fault.

Ohio is not the Midwest!! It's as far east as Florida.
ArrogantCreep 3 years ago
Ohio is still part of the midwest. Although it's 'as far east as Florida' it's STILL part of the midwest. "Midwest" is not as literal as it sounds by the way. Just like we call Asia far east....on their map WE'RE east. Just one of those things...it is what it is. Guess you have to be from the midwest to have known this info...didn't make sense to me the first time I heard it. You should read up. google midwest...you'll see Ohio in every definition. Peace!
Alphacat 3 years ago
You are correct, and I did know that Ohio is in every definition of the Midwest. I just personally don't agree with it, I've spend time in various areas of Ohio and to me they always had a northeastern feel...if that makes any sense. I found the people to be quite different in states I consider the "Midwest" then in Ohio but then again I'm not from there so I should just shut my mouth I suppose. Just a trivial pet peeve of mine that I can never help but argue with. Good video BTW ...Cheers.

Lets not Midwest Bash! I'm from Minnesota and you can't get anymore Midwest than that and we are a BLUE state!
o.O we are surrounded by the Reds... please send help! hehe
spricket24 3 years ago
I'm sure not bashing the Midwest. It's a geographical location question really. Minnesota is the shit btw..I slept outside in a church parking lot in St. Charles one time and nobody even called the cops on me..awesome state.

so true, i hope Barack Obama wil win!

juztpaultje<~~~~ he will win :)
Alphacat 3 years ago

I am actually was supporting Hillary because I really didn't trust Obama that much. But now that Hillary is out of the race I had no plans to vote at all, I decided I don't trust any of the two candidates running, so therefore I would not vote.
