i think that what happened was that the show was cancelled, but then a few years later or something the idea of continuing was put forward but claire turned it down because she wanted to stick to her movie career

Claire Danes didn't make the choice...i thought that was true too because of rumors, but when i bought the complete series they mention multiple times in interviews that abc chose to not continue with the show.

Did Claire Danes really turn down season 2???? This is the first time I've read that anywhere, it was always said that there were just not enough viewers. yes, the show had a cult following but nowhere near as many as shows like 90210 or whatever to keep it going

I really feel a connection to Angela, but when I see Claire Danes in a movie or interview I always feel like something's missing, like she lost part of herself.

yep, it's the best thing claire danes did in her career. She made a bad choice by not staying in the show. I think her performance is really natural and believable, i don't know why she've done such bad movies...

@Neurotikus She was good in Romeo and Juliet, but, I agree, I wish that MSCL had gone on a few seasons. She seems a lot different now. Blonde and very LA. I miss the Claire that was awkward in an endearing way with a unique sense of fashion. Ah, well. People change.

I don't think she turned down season 2, abc cancelled it, but I totally agree that it was the only good career move she made in her life. This is the only thing I can watch her in.
