This scene is truly beautiful! It shows that Dexter did truly care for Rita, and had all his emotion locked up inside him. Look at him! He wants to cry, but he can't. The only way to relieve himself is to bash this man's head in.
The way the redneck acted, it was like he was begging to be stopped the only way Dexter knew how by killing him or something. Even though Dexter's done a very reprehensible thing, the way it's played out as if gives him some kind of 'emotional justification' to do such a thing.
On a sidenote, imagine if Dexter lashed out at some guy just peacefully minding his own business eating a sandwich and enjoying the weather or something.
This should happen to all rednecks and hillbillies. I live in Northwest Indiana and there is tons of guys like this (like my neighbor) - we need a Dexter here in town!
@chuck9788 I think you're kind of missing the point of those ten seconds. In fact, those ten seconds are what makes this clip so beautiful. His rage shines through, without any filter. He finds himself releasing all of his pent up hatred for the events that recently happened to him and his wife. What better person to take them out on, than an unruly redneck.
Also this is the first time ever Dexter has purposefully broken the code rule of "Never harm an innocent." I wonder why? I guess Dexter really thought this asshole deserved it, especially him being super pissed about his dead wife.
@holsterboy166 too bad dexter isnt a cop, hes a blood spatter analyst, theres a pretty big difference, he does forensics. he doesnt have a gun or a badge just a laminated that says he's miami metro homicide. nice try tho :)
