  • you don't get anything better than this....baayybeee!

  • thank you for this :)

  • @ 39-50 secs, was that a blunt in his mouth?

  • @strawbaby1 Alex was always smoking these things: Rio6 from Villiger. They are what killed him too. But what a nicotine hit!!

  • Hello.

Do you know where that picture of Blues Incorporated (about 20 seconds in) with Ginger Baker came from? Any leads are greatly appreciated!

  • I was lucky enough to see this band and the G B Organisation several times.

We were fortunate in the 60's to have all these great musicians.

I was in a band that supported GBO and Mayall and all these guys when they played our city in the UK. I learnt so much from them. Thanks for posting this.

  • geez, did this guy even NEED a microphone???

  • This would sound even better if Freddie King played some licks on this track.

  • Alexis is great to listen to. Thanks.

  • i adore this soooooo much !!!!....used to sing it at the top of my lungs every morn on my way to work in the shitty Jo'burg traffic....i found it on the Jack Bruce Life Can You Follow CD'S.....This band and the G.B.O. were amazing - so much SOUL !!

  • brilliant to see graham Bond in the vid/post!

along with Alexis, Cyril davies, John Mayall et al Mr. Bond was a freakin LEGEND!! the GBO kick some serious arse!!

  • Thanks for the comment. I saw the GBO at the Club A'Gogo, Newcastle a couple of times in the mid sixties. Graham actually played alto sax and Hammond organ simultaneously in a couple of songs. Brilliant musician - a great pity he's no longer with us.

  • @rojox99 Were Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker in the band when you saw it?

  • @proferic I'm pretty sure they had both left when I saw Graham Bond in 1966. Dick Heckstall-Smith was still in the band and there was also a black guy playing trumpet. Later that year, in November, I did see Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker performing together. I was fortunate to be playing in a band that opened for the Cream at Redcar Jazz Club. They had only been together a few months but what an unforgettable performance.

  • I really like this A LOT!

  • veryyyyyyy good!!!!!

  • Does pipl know this man and his band were heavy influence to youngsters in the 60's like JIMI PAGE,ERIC CLAPTOIN,JEFF BECK and so on? So yes this guy alone planted the seed of r&b into many come to be famous rockers britannics brought to the world 70's ahead!

  • Which I urge you to listen to

  • That sax solo is thoroughly insipid. It doesn't come close to touching the raucous belter at the start of Ray Charles's rendition.

  • Very good!

  • I like this version of the song almost as much as Ray Charles'. Wonderful stuff/

  • thanks

  • love his voice

  • i ADORE this song....i got Jack Bruce's greatest hits on a 6 CD pack earlier this year and this wee treasure was on it ...it now lives on my i-Pod along with Hoochie Coochie Man

    I love to sing it!

    damn fine music

  • Great to hear this cut again. Thanks for posting the photos of Ronnie Jones. I never followed his career after AK, so it was great to see those photos. Thanks Alexis and DHS for some great music
