  • Sir Gussow you've done it again fantastic beat, simple and clean!!

  • Actually after listening to his actually recording, you sound pretty damn close.

  • I agree with the other ones, you sound amazing vocally for this. You must have really really liked this one.

  • Adam, your voice sounds great for that song.

  • i wish you were living in Turkey.......

  • Nice one ......THANX

  • I think this is one of Adam's best singing performances...

  • Delightful~!!

  • Dr. Gussow, are the tabs available for this tune? I would definitively purchase them ;)

  • Dude.. you rock! HA! I heard my boss singing this song yesterday for some reason.. You really know how to rock this song!

  • That was incrediable!

  • Amazing

  • Whoa! Knocked me out of my trance! Beautifully done. Beautifully sung. Thanks.

  • Nice one!

  • i must became as you.........

  • At 1:30 - is that fast chord work the Billy Gibson inspired type of lick you've discussed in other lessons?

  • @elfbeard

    Yes, you've got good ears!

  • Are you left-handed, Dr. Gussow?

  • @elfbeard

    Yes.

  • I keep playing this over and over. Amazing!

  • I know exactly what you are saying in the linear notes. People at work always ask me to play them a song when they know I have a harp with me. They have no interest in Blues harp improvisation necessarily.

I have been trying The Monkees .. 'I'm a Believer' and such like.

Adam....always such GREAT tone !!!! Lovely

    Woody

  • Your vocals sound distorted through the mic. How do you do that?...cause it sounds great

  • Adam where do I get one of those drums set ups Grreat Stuff !!!!!!!!

  • Pete farmer. google: farmer foot drums

  • Adam... what is that riff at the 1:37 to the 1:34 mark?

Once again... thank you so much for doing this R&B Classic! There are a ton more out there... and many of us would be willing to pay for a download instruction!!!!!!!

  • "go up to your URL bar, put a Q between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go"

  • Love it. This works.

  • great , can you teach me? please in a video

  • Adam... Once again... harp examples for R&B!!! Thank you so very much!

Believe me, this is very much needed.

I loved your words on the upper right of this page. Very profound! Yes, no need to, "...remain locked in the 50's."

So, yes, yes, yes... there is a great void out there and yes, Adam... we need people like you and others to help fill that void!

How about your rendition of, "Mary's Superstitious"?? It's on YouTube... but we need a Gussow Lesson on that puppy!

    Please!

  • Adam you r the man. Loved it.

  • That was absolutely wonderful Adam!

  • diggin' on the edits and camera effects

  • wow! many thanks posting such stuff online!!

  • So cool. It's so funky. Like Son of Dave w/o the loops. I bet it'd be even sicker with some loops.

  • Absolutely loved it - it's a real eye opener for this old man only three months into the blues harp journey...

  • Mr. Gussow, when I listen to yours new posts, I can't sleep whole night.. thanks for that tasteful lack of sleep..!!

  • Love it. That looks like so much fun. Also after seeing your Superstition video, I looked up Farmer Foot Drums, and now there's a set in the mail heading to my home in NC. Thanks for your videos, Adam, they're a constant inspiration :)

  • you sound amazing mr.gussow

  • I like this direction. Very cool. I'm playing along in A flat, which means that you are actually playing in A flat or my guitar is out of tune.

  • Yes, I'm playing a Db harp in Ab.

  • Aflat, cool. We gotta do all the keys. I'm working on The SRV version of "Texas Flood" in F# with the capo. Check out the intro; we could do it together. And we should find something in C#. C# minor would be cool. Rock on!

  • Very nice and original take on a cool song! Another winner, Adam.

  • tutorial? T_T

  • Thank you Adam for all of your videos. This tune is stuck in my head. After listening/watching at least 5 times last night, I went to bed with the tune in my head. Woke up this morning and tuned in again, twice already. Next, I'll get my harp out and learn the riff to play along with you. George

  • Aha! That is exactly the effect I hoped to produce. It's in your blood.

  • that was cool senor KudzuRunner; excellent!

  • I am going to guess an E Harmonica? I am amazed at the awesome sounds you can get out of your Harp. One day.....

If nothing else, your videos are very entertaining and inspirational. Thank you for sharing. :-D

  • Db harp.

  • Im so glad to see someone els doing the OMB. You realy nailed it too Wow ...its 4 in the morning right now ..and i want to go put my drum kit together and start playing it ....It's still in pieces last gig i did with it was on the Blues Cruise .. I had to take it apart to get it on the boat ...I think we are the only people in the world doing this ....I cant wait till the Mis Hill Co Harp Gathering ....Count me in ... ... Great Stuff ..... Deak Harp ....

  • Beautiful! It sems that Håhan Ehn, Jason Ricci and you are pushing the envelope here at youtube.

  • One of my fav's! You are the bomb on catching the essence of this song.

  • Adam...this is amazing stuff...LUV IT!...just curious though....what are you using as far as amplification and effects...would really help!.....keep it up..I am always looking forward to your videos!!!

  • I'm using a Shure PE-5 H mic, a Boss DD-3 digital delay, a HarpGear HG2, and a Kay as twin amps. Also Pete Farmer's foot drums.

  • This is great...can older players like me take a shot too? Now I have to go look for Sunshine of my Love...that is a great song

  • I thought it was ending around the 3 minute mark but you were obviously having too much damn fun! I like the mix of the drums/harp/voice. I think I'll try this one too. Your Sunshine of my Love rendition was inspirational too. One of my favorites to play...Thanks!

  • nice man, very nice indeed.

  • great! nice ! Great!!

  • Wow its Rocking dear regards

    Ashok

  • Adam you found the sweet spot for your one man thing. This is it!

  • I'm glad you think so. I had that feeling as I worked with the song. This one felt like a natural. Like the Wright Brothers: either the plane flies or it just won't get off the ground. This one isn't streamlined, but it's off the ground.

  • It's very interesting to observe the development you went through. Your first attempts at the one man thing just lacked the final tweak. I guess it was mostly due to the singing part. The way you handle this now is brillant (with a bit of distortion - reminds me of Tom Waits). It just sounds right now. My compliments, you did it.

  • great singing man

  • Genius !

  • Nice work! Great stuff!

    --Jason

    ---THE JASON PLUMLEE SIDESHOW---

  • Fantastic!!

  • awesome...doctor A....putting this down with Pack Fair and Square....

    Dr. g...seattle..

    ps what is that mic?

  • Sounds great! Love the harp and vocals.

  • I'm really diggin' this one Adam. My foot has gone rogue and is tapping all by itself.

  • That rocked! The effect you had on the harp worked really well on the vocal too.

  • Your singing is getting better,Adam...Been taking lessons?

  • with your very high level and long experience , continuing to evoluate and progress for much better , this is very amazing and prodigious , u are the master , mr gussow !!!!!! respect .....

  • Read your comments on the right in the info section, and agree about playing the more modern stuff. Also I get more invitations to jam with my friends cover bands doing 60's,70's&80's Rock & Soul stuff, than any of the blues bands. You don't have to be an advanced player. They are happy just to have a harmonica player that can jam with them and play the harmonica riffs on those songs. Their standards are not as high as the blues bands.

  • Cool challenge. Has a Ram Jam feel!

  • Geezz could you even breathe?! :D

    That was awesome!!

  • Great stuff, Adam! Thanks!

  • hes staying in his vocal comfort zone, with fantastic results...

  • Do you plan to record yourself in a studio as the OMB?

  • Wow great Adam!!!

    5 stars

I have to check it out with my Db Harp.

    Great!

    Greetings

    Konstantin

  • Thanks for continuing to expand the world of the blues harp into ever-cooler realms!

  • Its on a Dflat isnt it?

    i dont have one

  • Yes, the original recording is in Ab, so I'm playing a Db harp in 2nd position.

  • Kick ASS!!

I love it You nailed as usual.

  • OMB Gussow! Really branching out. I dig it. PS, I ran into Orville the other night at the open mic in Inwood, he want me to tell you hello. Hoping all is well with you.

  • This is the coolest sound i ever heard.

wauw great song great playing drums are awesome singing kicks ass.
