I saw one of the Wembley concerts of this tour, and he did "...Falling in Love" on his own, with an acoustic guitar...plus about 195,000 backing singers from the crowd! There wasn't a dry eye to be seen!
Bruce`s love for Elvis is well known, and the way he talks about Elvis, reveals great love and admiration for a guy who changed culture. Springsteen was devastated when he heard that Elvis passed away, and said this; - There have been pretenders. There have been contenders, but there is only one king. True.
I was barely 1 day old when Springsteen played there in Paris.
Listening to him sing the beginning of Can't Help Falling in Love with You ...almost brings tears to my eyes. I suppose that's a credit to Elvis' song & Bruce Singing/feeling.
MY GOD!! Take me to that trip!! I WANT TO SEE HIM!! I'm recently a fan and I haven't seen him in concert yet. I live in Barcelona so, this year, I think I won't see him.. I hope he comes at least one more time... xDD
Springsteen, like countless others, were deeply affected by Elvis` passing, and has on numerous occasions declared his love for Elvis and his music. His comments always reveal knowledge and respect for Elvis. Two great musicians. One of them went too soon.
i never lived in the time of elvis. But every time I hear his story, his music, I feel what people must have felt. He is the biggest rock and roll musician that lived. Without elvis so many artists wouldn't have started. Who knows, perhaps we would not be listening to Bruce making some of the best music of this time and all time.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

I think a truer inspiration for Bruce was Roy Orbison, who also left us too soon.

I really love the way Bruce pays respect to the greatest man of all time. Too bad he could never do a duet song with his hero
