i read in an article that they were working on a new persona game that was only on playstation 3 (i am so happy for that) i also read they are making persona 4 for the vita and will be available next year in japan
It's alright if they still follow the same social links and stuff, but I want a better plot line.
P4 had a repetitive kind of plot, so it didn't hook me in as much as P3 did, but I still enjoyed the gameplay nonetheless, coz you got to control all the characters, instead of just one - which saved my gaming butt a few times. :)
Can't wait to see what Atlus is gonna do this time. =)

@123kats Yeah. It would not be as interesting if they did that. Although its like the saying, if a formula is good, dont change it. Although this can lead to milking. Atlus might try some new stuff, but keep things like Social Link,etc.

@praxisz08 unfortunately atlus has been very quiet about anything that is persona related. Although their next game Catherine is coming on Feb 17 on JPN. Lets see how that turns out. The catherine demo is also available if u have a JPN psn account. Give it a try it havent.

There can be no doubt that Persona 5 is in the works. I believe that Catherine (as amazing as it looks) may be the test engine for it. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series following is powerful and visciously loyal. Me being among them. It will be made for the PS3 (doubtful for X-Box, just look at the history), the only question is when can we expect some concrete evidence such as release date or screenshots? I will keep playing P3:FES in the meantime.
@PhantomProgram true. they have announce portable titles. 2 are shin megami titles. 1 of those 2 is a persona game.i think by atlus history they always have their mothership titles on consoles first before remaking it into portable.like p3. another reason of why it might be on console first is because they are working on the game 'catherine'. they are most likely developing or improving a new engine after catherine for the HD consoles. that is what i think. hope they atleast remake p4 for 3DS

@swordfish1390 interesting. your idea had me thinking for a while. it sounds like turn-based battle system. my idea is atlus would used the power of the next-gen console for a more action-based battle system. characters move around freely and with some a.i. keep the hp and sp stats. you have a support person to provide attacks not just analyze.

your probably wondering what happens to your que'd commands if you kill a shadow before using all of them. well, say, for instance, you use 3 normal attacks, but kill the shadow in one. one more, lol.
p5 also utilizes a "targeting system." there are 2 types of targets: attack targets and support targets. you can only have one attack target at a time, while you can have multiple support targets. here is an example:
main character: zio-> heal self-> heal ally.
also, when an enemy's weakness is exploited, they will be knocked down, and the attacker will gain another turn, being able to use their AP once more. one more part, sorry.
i invented a very original idea of a battle system for p5, let me know what you think.
p5 utilizes what i call the "action system," meaning every ally has an AP (action points) meter. you start off the game with 3 AP, and end the game with 6. every action will cost one or more AP. this means that you can take as many actions as you have AP. usually, normal attacks and basic skills (such as zio and agi) will only expend one AP. hang on, im running out of text space.
P5 Has this kinda 3 Stories. Character Selection Screen.
The MC=Main Story
Minato Arisato= Minato's Journey To His Memories (Atlus should Reccomend this for P3 Veterans.)
Meet All Of Us! Story=Souji Seta comes to (Insert Place Where P5 Happens) Along with his friends. That happens to the P3 Team without Minato (Aigis as new Field Leader.) They bump into each other and continue the Nyx Story. P3 Team will tell P4 Team about the Nyx Story.

The multi-platform game "Catherine", for ps3 and xbox 360. coming in JPN this winter. having a persona game in HD is not such a bad thing. ps3 is a great console to have. that is just my opinion. having a job really helps to get your entertainment.
@WeaponXSigma there is no official proof that it is a SMT game but it is being developed by the persona team and the composer Shoji Meguro. all we know is that the game is for mature because of content such as sex and erotic music. There is some information on wikipedia. Hope fully there will be more information at TGS 2010.
I would also want to add that i read on a website some time ago that Aigis from P3 will make a return as the main character's friend in P5! God i hope it's true i love her! Well her and Yukiko :p
I think it'll be for the PS3 only or PSP even (since P3 came out for PSP) and not for the Xbox 360,. Believe it or not not many people in japan likes the Xbox 360, I have a 360 and it's collecting dust until Fable 3 comes out (and i think Halo just plain blows!) on the other hand I would really love a P4 for the PSP as well xD. Anyways i wouldn't want it on the 360 sorry xbots.
