  • @endosocks poor roadrunner you mean

  • The Remake wasn't all bad I thought there were just too many Flashy Actors and CG effects.

  • espectacular pelicula en los 70.s por la mayoria de escenas en accion y hasta ahora no se ha visto otra pelicula con tantos choques, aun la nueva pelicula de nicolas cage en el 2000.

  • this whole car chase scene makes me want to steal cars professionally, in the 1970's, not now, we'll need a time machine

  • The La freeways look empty..a lot has changed since then..

  • 2:25 holy shit!!!

  • is like watching porn... hard core porn... a real hard core one

  • Road Runner crash.... noooooooooooooo!!!!!!

  • Looks like those crash victims are going to need to call 1-800-LAWYERS.

  • i guess people in the 70,s didnt know wtf brakes were lol 1:35 2:00

  • @TheNorthernSoulKing

    Yes sir.

  • @MrDead67 Thank you. Do you know how much they are worth from one thats rusted to one thats referbished?

  • @TheNorthernSoulKing

Umm well I guess it depends on whose selling it to you...

  • @TheNorthernSoulKing

    yes it is. It's a 1973 Mach 1 made to look like a '71 mach 1,

I beleive it has the 428 Cobra Jet Engine with Ram Air.

  • American Muscle power

  • if you look real close when the mustang is on the highway you can see a grabber blue boss 429

  • Everytime one of those beautiful muscle cars got totalled I just shouted Nooooo D:

    Goddamn this movie kicks ass!

  • The voice of police woman on the radio is ;So soft! Peace and calm, I love that mood completly at the opposite of the action!

  • 20-30 cars? there was like 5 tops!

  • 2:21 LOLOLOL

  • MUSTANG IS THE MOST FAMOUS CAR IN THE WORLD ITS BEEN USED IN A SHIT LOAD OF MOVIES AND I GOT TOO SAY THIS MOVIE IS CHEESY AS HELL THE NEW ONE IS WAY BETTER.LOL

  • @mr666tech i like how you said this one is cheesy as hell when not only was it filmed almost 30 years earlier than the new one but they also actually jumped the car in this one unlike the new one and besides i dont mind em smashing up a mustang... I'm a chevy guy!

  • No, no, no, fellows -You don't get it, when they wreck classic cars today (2010AD), it's a crime. Truly.

But back then the types in question were in production & abundant.

But most importantly, watch closely (rewind if need be), you'll see that most of the stunt cars were scrapworthy already.

This was not a huge budget film. And perhaps that's why it's so good.

  • dude one of the coolest cars out there AND HE FKING SMASHED IT...... ahhhh so NOT COOL 1973 Boss 351 Ford Mustang awesome... *sob* *sniff* ' (

  • at 4:26 I bet the blue 69-70 stang's owner wanted to cry at the wrecked 73

  • wow at @5:31 he exits onto Sepulveda in Carson,CA today there's a friggin Target store there now hahahaha

  • The police really are quite reckless. It's not bumper cars, guys!

  • lol at 1:40, teens... see what happens when you dont pay attention? YOU HIT A FLIPPED OVER CAR WHEN THERE WERE TWO LANES!!!!!!

  • Excess of CGI and FX makes things silly.

In the 70 the things were more real, more close to reality.

  • @jerryaltman exactly what i think

  • @2:16 Tarantino's shout out in "Death Proof": "He hit a boat?!"

  • oh man , its so painful watching them ruin these cars

  • @borgataa

True, but if you think about it, made in 1974, the car's weren't very old nor classics then, most of them were under 15 years old, it would like be ruining a car from 1996 or newer, IMO its better to just watch these movie where they are wrecking them at their day, instead of wreck them now as a classic, they weren't classics back then

  • Is the entire movie a car chase?

  • @Metrionix i think the last 40 minutes or so is. i saw it along time ago

  • was that car that flipped a datsun?

  • I don't think my fox Mustang could take this kinda abuse.

  • LOL the cops need to learn how to drive xD

  • Cops, gotta hate em, even 20 to 30 years ago

  • cool to see the 69-70 dodge coronet cop cars, my dad has a 68 2-door

  • ok someone hacked this movie and put in modern music. what happened to the original score ? Its much better.

  • all those fucking whales can't take for shit

  • at 4:14 is that golden gate bridge?

  • 1:43 "peugeot 404 "french car no muscle! rien à voir avec les grosses cylindrées us ...merci pour ce film nostalgique (le paysage us a bien changé)

"Peugeot 404" French car no muscle! nothing to do with the big cars us ... thank you for this movie nostalgia (the landscape has changed us)

  • 1:43 (pause) "peugeot 404" french car no car très rare au usa

  • 1:43 (pause) "peugeot 404" french car no muscle! très rare au usa

  • Nice Never new there was an original much better than the remake

  • VROOOOOOOMMM!

  • this was the restored version with the new cheesy music, the original soundtrack to this was actually pretty damn good!! specially when this scene came up, a song that says "I do hope the man doesn't catch me!"

  • man, he cut that 67 Fairlane convertible in half! what a sin! That car would bring 30K nowadays! However, not in it's present condition!

  • @McQueensMustang that's what happens when you have a unibody car. haha

  • What did the Mustang say to the VW?

    MOVE MOFO!

  • it is on DVD and thankfully the original "60" wasnt further desecrated by being incorporated into the cage/jolie remake

  • this is out on dvd i have it i got it from a dvd catalouge

  • the nick cage one is a sad remake

  • @TheMostHolyOne this one is way more better than the nick cage one ;)

  • havent seen all the original one because i cant find a copy but just from what i have seen it spanks it lol

  • @JollethecrazY

you are officaly on crack. the premis is fine but the filming, acting and action sucks compared to the new one, if the whole thing is like this im not goin gto bother watchign the rest. extremely disaponted after all the hype.

  • @TheMostHolyOne oh so true mate

  • 1:20 that poor type 3 also how the hell couldent you miss that i mean realy theres like 10 cars and they still hit them

  • I cant watch this....

all famous Muscle cars og those who are nowadays famous got crashed!

    Mustangs,

    Chargers,

    Challengers,

    Camaro's

    And Darts

    ...I'm about to cry!!!!!!

  • you got to remember that was when they were all being mass produced. but ya....i cry a little when i see this haha

  • @pershing22 I know its hard, but, try to think that, at the time, some of those cars were in production or just left the assembly lines. That means that were many of them out there, at least in 1974.

  • @pershing22 ya but sadly to them they were just coming off the manufacturing line. and little did they know they were gonna be way better then these days.

  • @pershing22 they were just cars back then..

  • @pershing22 You forgot Chevelle and Olds 442.

  • @pershing22 you notice that 3 out of 5 of those cars are mopars.....i rest my case on the better muscle car debate

  • @fastestrhythem

i've driven MOPAR and Other car brands such as Ford and Plymouth, both were pretty damn good cars, but i simply cannot choose between the two of 'em. if i had to, than i'd go for Ford in a heartbeat.

  • @pershing22 on that i have to dissagree with you tho ford has made equaly nice cars as mopars back in the day id go with a dodge in a heartbeat but everyone has there opinions and also i think most people depends on what there dad liked for cars to i know it was that way for me anyway

  • @fastestrhythem

that's the problem, my parants drove Dodge and Ford during those day's, we still do, the acational Plymouth and AMX, but mostly Ford.

  • @pershing22

Hate to say this to you but the majority of those musclecars, especially those from Chrysler all rusted away in 10 years and were unsalvagable.

The only ones that survived where those kept in states without winters and much rain.

And back when this was shot many of these muscle cars were a dime a dozen, there were plenty of them.

  • @pershing22 have a cry, they had tons of these in the day, they wouldnt of done it now without a green screen

  • @pershing22 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah im crying with you your not alone ahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa

  • @pershing22 Don't forget the Plymouth Roadrunners, they're the cop cars lol. They look like 69's while the one that couple was test driving that gets crushed at 3:01 looks like a 71

  • @ffgew22

No Dude, aren't those '72 Dodge Challengers?

  • @pershing22 Not ALL the cop cars are the roadrunners, but I'm pretty sure the cop car heading into the ditch at 2:28 is a 69' roadrunner while the blue one at 3:05 is a 71'

  • @ffgew22 Are you sure they're not Mercury Cougars?

  • @ffgew22 Road Runners are 2drs,those are Satellites

  • @84Bronco351 you are correct sir!, thank you.

  • damn that Camaro had the shit knocked out of it at 1:54

  • LMAO @ 2:25 ...

"They don't make'em like they used to..."

  • i don't understand why they say it's a '73 mustang. this one is 71 or 72 with a 73 front grille.

  • ...and the driver was 6' tall and 185lb. How did they know that and still have "reason for pursuit unknown"? 8o)

  • Cause it is a 73' why do u think it isnt?

  • The actual car is a 71, but she "plays" a 73 in the movie. Halicki meant for it to be a 73 in the movie, because as he says shes "the last of the Mustangs". He didn't like the MII's much!

  • I wonder why they changed it from a '73 mustang to a '67 mustang?

  • i dont care i belave the 67 was the best in style and performance

  • yea the 302 in 73 only had 141HP. they didnt have a 302 in 67' but they had the 289 and if you got it with the 2 barrel carb it had 200HP and the 289 HO had 271HP. That because of all that emission bullshit they put on all the engines

  • I hate how the smog stuff killz performance the 76 camaro was nothing anymore becuase of low compression and stuff

  • That 4200 pound Mustang did pretty well considering it was repaired at least a dozen times during filming of the chase. The director had a roll cage welded a roll cage on the inside of the car and renforced it all the way around.

  • so is the plot the same in this movie, as the remake. because i love old movies and may want to go try to find this.

  • Yes and no. The plot is the same, but the remake made it overdramatic. Certain situations that happened in the remake were never in the original. Also this chase scene is still 100x better than the remake lol. It's worth the buy to be honest.

  • thank you i will have to look for it then.

  • my dad actually has this movie on dvd ( the 1974 version. ) I think he said he picked it up at a dvd exchange store. they buy dvds for $5 and sell them for $10. Not that bad if you have some things you don't watch any more.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahah! 2:28

  • At 2.25 when the patrol car hits that Ford convertible.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

  • at 4:53 look at the red beetle haulin ass hahahaha

  • hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

  • i guess they did

  • 1:50 ...Did brakes suck THAT bad back then?

  • Well I don't know if they were as bad as what this movie depicts, but you have to remember until 1975 most cars came standard with 4 wheel drum brakes, which weren't all that great. Only some cars came with front disc brakes. Wasn't until 1975 that pretty much everything came standard with front disc brakes. This movie was made in 1974.

  • Thx, that makes sense.

  • 2:59 the rare road runner :P

  • Are you sure it's a Road Runner? Looks like it might be a 1971-72 Satellite Sebring.

  • exactly road runner 1972, as i said that facelift was rare, only that year as i know.

  • So i realize its 1974 and all but the driving in this is garbage. Bullit was right around this time and has MUCH better and more convincing driving.

  • Bullitt was made in 1968, 6 years prior. And I agree, but Hollywood had it's hands in that movie and Steve McQueen. These 'nobodys' operated on a shoe-string budget, the maker of the film used mostly HIS cars, and it wasn't jazzed up, CGI-altered 'fluff' like the 'new' one. My opinion is, the plot was to Gone in 60' was poor, but the chase scene is classic. They made chase scenes sooo much better back then. Hollywood needs to review the 'oldies' and take notes. Slackers. :P

  • 5:35 it was batman rofl

  • heyyyy

    at 4: 52 !!!

that red car is faster hehe!

  • i drive that entire route almost every day. it hasnt changed much.

  • You hear crashes all the time, yeah we come here everyday-lol

  • lol: the guy flying the plane.

    Buzzzzzz...

    *Hear's V8 in the Background*

"That's not my plane.... is it?"

    :P.

  • Original is better always

  • i don't know. most people who i know that saw the '74 version of "gone in 60 seconds" said that the only good parts were the car chases. I have to agree

  • because they think gone in 60 secones car jackings chases they dont really listen into the people scenes because all they wanted was the thrill the action of the movie
