i been playing basketball long time but i never forget you. Davenport; Iowa City, remember that littlle town by Madison where u headed up 5 regional bands. I do not remember all but is was White Lightniny; . i cannot spell lighnin, but i swear this afternoon venue in a bar by madison rates up high with most of the dead shows at alpine or soldierrs field
In my original post I purposely didn't mention where we saw them. It was at a bar, believe it or not, which you of course already know. I also saw Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes in a bar in Stevens Point that year. As I recall there were something like 100 bars in that town of 20,000 people at that time. Good old Wisconsin entertainment.
I saw these guys live in 1966 to promote the above LP....this lp is in my all time top ten "listened in my car stereo" for years (yes...on 8 track)....
We saw Siegel-Schwall for the first time in a church basement in Milton Wisconsin, had to be 72 or 73, somewhere in there anyway. Awesome. Caught their last gig in Beloit before they broke up, the their re-union tour in St. Paul. Jim Schwall is a prof in Madison I think. Caught Corky at the Joynt in Eau Claire when he started the baroque blues thin. As nice a guy as you would think he would be.
Not only one of the most under rated bands but one of the most under rated musicians. Corkey Seigel is still inventing new things to do with a harmonica, even today!
i seen them just last sept. at KEOSAUQUA IA at the state line rally for the three state abate and they were great

"Down In The Bottom" was covered by Howlin' Wolf, not written by him. Willie Dixon is the songwriter.

Unbelievable, but true, the band I was with played backup to these guys in Steven's Point in 1972, one of I think 3 bands that played before them.

They recorded a few pieces with the San Fransisco Symphony orchestra. Yeah, I'd say they're well known.

Corky is a darling man, Jim is sweet as hell, almost was the Mayor of Madison! Those days of youth are just a wisp away.
